The Best-Laid Plans...

Holly Aldridge had the perfect plan to win back the affections of her ex-boyfriend Brad—she'd make him jealous. Her friend Sam was just the man to do it. Especially since the handsome contractor agreed to share Holly's bungalow for the summer. Certainly Brad would come running back when he realized she was playing house with six feet of rugged competition like Sam....

Sam didn't like playing games—or playing decoy. After all, if Brad was dumb enough to walk out on this beautiful redhead, he deserved to lose her. All he had to do now was convince Holly that he was made for his role as the lover. And with a little more rehearsing they could turn this charade into the performance of a lifetime—a lifetime of love and happiness....

Holly the main character is very rigid, determined and single-minded in wanting her old boyfriend Brad the Bad back after he breaks up with her. She makes a plan for his Surrender to come back to her; most of the plan just made think how immature she was in her approach to men.

Sam is her new roommate (part of her plan to make Brad jealous) and he falls for Holly and wants her Surrender because he loves her. He treats her with respect, is fun and sexy and she finds she loves to kiss him.

Sam's cousin is Holly's best friend and has set Sam up as her housemate and adds humor to the story along with support. Part are humorous, parts are fun but a small part leaves Holly looking pretty foolish. I still enjoyed the story and can recommend it for a short fun book to Surrender to and read.

Brad wants his space but Holly wants him back and to achieve this she has a plan, well to be honest Holly has a plan for everything but this is a well thought out three stage plan. Holly's best friend Clarissa isn't a great fan of Brad the Bad but gets roped into helping with the plan regardless, to this end she sets up her tall, attractive and single cousin Sam as Holly's roommate and then steps back to watch the sparks fly.
This book was cute and had me laughing all the way through at times I got a little exasperated with Holly and wished she'd just stop, breath and come to her senses. Sam was well, wow what can I say loved him.
If you like a nice easy romantic read that will make you laugh then this is the book for you.

Holly is a planner. she has a plan to get Brad back, who says he needs his space. part of this plan is to make Brad jealous, so she takes on a room mate, Sam, to assist with this plan.

however, she doesnt take into account Sam's feelings, and there follows a tale of true love, unrequited love, plans gone awry and a whole host of mishaps and accidents that bring Holly and Sam closer together. but it takes a moment of madness, a night in jail and diary to make Holly finally see clearly!

unusually, for a romance, there is no sex, at all! lots of super heated kissing though :-)

an enjoyable hour spent, with a freebie :-)

I had Surrender in my Kindle freebies from some time. It was a short read but a cute romance. But, very much predictable. I liked Sam but Holly was most of the times, annoying and i did not like how she was with Sam.
Anywas, for a novella, it was ok.

it was a nice story, girl gets jilted, determined to get him back, gets a male roommate to make him jealous & then doesn't really see what's right under her nose. it was an evening read & perfect for its length.

The characters were too unrealistic and naive and the story just didn't have a right details. I hate giving bad reviews but this one just wasn't cohesive.
