Shardai is a regal cat that ended up in the afterlife. He desperately wanted to get back to his human. This is a beautiful story of his rebirth as a feral kitten and journey. I fell in love with Shardai and was completely pulled into his world through his new, and old eyes. There were some heartbreaking moments, humor, and bravery. I was rooting for this cat and his new family. It’s a well-written page-turner that didn’t let up. I admit this had me teary-eyed at the end. If you love cats, you’ll ...more

I am a firm believer in rebirth so, if I admit it is possible for us, humans, why shouldn’t it be also possible for the animal world?

As a pet owner – cats and a dog – I think I can characterize Shardai in two words. Delightful, touching. They describe Shardai to a tee. Other descriptions? World building that doesn’t quit. Wonderful cat hero. The author has a way with words that makes the reader want to keep reading. And so much more.

Shardai is granted his wish (although the elders of Catarau have a hard time understanding his devotion to a human), but he’s reborn as a kitten to a feral mother. Shardai comes back as an “o

A lovely story full of emotion by an author who obviously knows a lot about the feline world and cherishes cats.

Bring the Tissues!

Very well written book. There are places where you need a gazillion boxes of tissues. This story is along the lines of Black Beauty, only with cats. I highly recommend this book.
