This review contains spoilers. If you want to read it, go ahead.
This story has touched me in ways I can't explain. Change, Happiness, Friendship, Love, Sacrifices, Betrayal, Lies, Anger, Regret, Forgiveness, Maturity... all those and more rolled into two books.
This story revolves (mostly) around a fan girl named Momoxhien Clarkson. She's the kind of fan that will do anything for the band she idolizes, Syntax Error. And that is an understatement, seriously.
She gets a chance to become a part of her favorite band's life and she in turn becomes a part of theirs. I just loved how all of them became such close friends to the point they've become a family. That's what I really look forward to when making friends.
I just have to say that the plot was just amazing. Like, all the characters had their own problems and flaws that they learned to move on from instead of running away. They all grew up in their own ways.
This book made me cry especially the 2nd installment because of what Momo and her friends are dealing with. They all suffered the same problem in the end. The fell in love with the wrong people. Well, Momo, Sync and Kevin did.
Mirko and Aila's story was touching and I really want to go buy noodles at 7-Eleven right now.
Corrine and Zeke's story was soooo sweet I could just die of how perfect they are for each other. Golly gosh!
I loved every single one of the characters. Well, except for two of them.
Luke and Sync oh my golly gosh I can't put into words how much I hate them. AND THEY'RE EVEN BROTHERS!
Sync is a big jerk who can't move on from the girl that NEARLY KILLED HIM. MORE THAN ONCE AT THAT. AND THEN HE GETS MOMO?!
I soooo DESPERATELY want to say this:
"It's easy to WALK IN THE POURING RAIN. It's easy to KNEEL IN FRONT OF SOMEONE. It's easy to FEEL REGRET. It's easy to CRY. It's easy to LET TEARS FALL DOWN YOUR EYES. It's easy to QUIT. It's so very easy to SAY YOU'RE SORRY. It's easy. Everything he did was relatively easy.
You know what ISN'T easy.
It's not easy to LOSE YOUR OWN INNOCENCE (if you know what I mean). It's not easy to BE CALLED WORTHLESS AND TRASHY BY THE ONE YOU LOVE. It's not easy to GIVE UP SO MUCH FOR A PERSON WHO DOESN'T EVEN SEEM TO CARE. It's not easy to DRESS UP LIKE SADAKO TO GET INTO A CONCERT. It's not easy to PUSH AWAY SOMEONE WHO ALREADY LOVES YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE ALREADY IN LOVE WITH A PIECE OF UNGRATEFUL GARBAGE. It's not easy to HAVE THEIR LIFE RUINED. It's not easy to BECOME A MONSTER DUE TO ANGER.
It's not easy to CARRY A CHILD.
You think that we should feel any form of remorse for Sync. NO. He ruined Momo's life and yet she loves him still. Idol kita Momo, you're so strong."
AND LUKE. Luke is an even BIGGER jerk that can't move on either, the one who let himself get possessed by his own jealousy and anger and he's the reason for everything bad that has happened.
At least he got his own punishment.
I guess the reason I only gave this book 4 stars is not only because I didn't like Sync. It was also because I love Kevin a bit too much. I mean, he was the nice guy and he was not chosen because what, he's not the "challenging one" like all the authors reason? Momo didn't even REALLY take his love into consideration. She was too angry when she said she'd "learn" to love him, just like Sync. They really ARE soulmates.
The nice guy was left voiceless and the bad guy was able to speak. Where's the justice in that?
But I'm glad Momo and Sync got married, then Blue can have a complete family and Momo can finally be with the... ugh... man she loves...
The story had a lot of life lessons in it and it was so realistic I could actually relate to some of them. This story made me angry, made me sad, made me happy, and made me just plain excited.
Like always you inspire and impress me Ate Denny. Looking forward to your other stories.
Please tell me someone ships Momo and Kevin... I guess not. Figures.
