This is the third book in The Order series. Although it tells the story of a different couple, it would be advisable if you read the previous books before venturing into this instalment. In doing so, you will gain background information on the supporting cast featured in this instalment and learn about the inside operations of The Order of Shadow Accords.

I read the firsts two books awhile back. I received this book for review but never got around to reading it before now. I thought I would have

I always believed that “bittersweet darkness” was just a description for especially delicious dark chocolate, until I got into Nina Croft’s Order series. The books are every bit as yummy (and addicting) as the best pure dark chocolate.

Like the other books in the series (Bittersweet Blood and Bittersweet Magic, both absolutely marvelous) Bittersweet Darkness is the story of a woman who has unknowingly been living a lie about her relationship to the supernatu

Wowzer she has done it again sucked me in and given me the best she has to offer with this one. When I was done though of course I am left well satisfied but will be wanting more knowing the wait will be well worth it. There is a prologue for those who have not read previous so not to be left in the dark ha ha. This picks up later where I was left from before so was ready to drink this one down in a heartbeat. Faith can not leave things alone when it comes to the investigation even after the new ...more

Very good

I liked this book a lot and I'm looking forward to other books by this author. It kept me entertained.
Really enjoyed this. Some surprising plot twists. Good characters. Like how some of the issues from the previous two books in the series are continued here. Looking forward to next in series.

Bittersweet Darkness (The Order 3) Nina Croft
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
This series has hooked me right from the first book, and now I’ve read three I understand book one even better, first books have a hard task, setting characters, a current plot and needing an over them to pull each book together. Though I loved it I understand everything so much better now that the world they are operating in is clear in my mind.
This one, book three has Detective Faith Connolly still trying to

I had been waiting impatiently for this book to come ever since I read Bittersweet Magic, longing to see what was in store for one of my favorite demons, Asmodai. I am happy to say Croft did NOT disappoint.

Asmodai has gone by many different names, Ash Delacourt, Demon of Lust, Prince of Darkness, but none does he crave more than the name Father. After losing the only woman with the ability to break through with black heart, his w

I've only recently discovered this authors work and as a lover of paranormal fiction I'm so very glad I have. Ms Croft writes stories that just capture my imagination and I find them almost impossible to put down until I have finished reading them. If you are looking for a new name in sexy paranormal books then you have definitely found her!

Faith has never believed in any type of supernatural monster. Even when signs point to what looks like a vampire she will not believe it. The detective has a crime she wants to see solved before her time is up. She doesn't have a lot of time as her health is rapidly going but she vows she will put a figure out this crime. She comes in contact with Ash as she investigates and while he has the bad guy look and feel to him she see can't help but want him. Asmodai has a debt to pay and part of that ...more
This book had a bit of everything that I like – action, romance, angst, tension, supernatural creatures, sexy alpha males, kick-ass heroines…yep, a bit of everything! Even though I haven’t read the first two books in this series, it was easy to follow the story and I don’t feel that I missed anything at all. I really liked the world that Nina Croft has created and liked how all the different supernatural creatures interacted with one another.

This is the 3rd book of the 'Bittersweet' series and is by far the best series out of all them! Nina croft has skills! not only can can she spin a story that is superb, she can also write several series at one time that manages to snare you in to her world of paranormal. Kudos to you Miss.Croft! Asmodia is a demon of lust and proud papa of Tara, whom isn't to found of dear ole pops and lets not get started on how Christian Roth hubby of Tara feels about him. My Review:
I loved everything about this book. I've read a few other books by Nina Croft, but this was the first book I've read from this series. Although it was obvious which characters featured in the first two books, I didn't feel like I was ever missing out on anything by dropping into the series at book #3.

This book features Faith, a detective who sees everything as black and white. There are no gray areas for her. Her long-time partner has just quit to go work for a mysterious company. She'

Due to my overabundance of excitement at the premise of this book, I didn't notice that Bittersweet Darkness is actually the third book in a series. My fault entirely. So, yes I did scramble for purchase a bit as I found my place in Faith's story. Still, this is a solid read even as a standalone! Nina Croft's writing has the ability to pull you straight down into the story. I might have been missing some details about the pasts of these characters, but in reality I didn't feel the sting too much ...more

Bittersweet Darkness is the third book in Nina Croft's The Order series and can be easily read as a stand alone.

The story starts off with our heroine Faith chasing down a lead on a murder that she is currently investigating with her partner. Just as she closes in on him she blacks out. We find out that she has a ticking time bomb in her head, a massive aneurism that is building and it's just a matter of time before it ends her life. She is determined to find the person responsible for the murde

The third book in The Order series is a thrilling and entertaining read.

At this point I don't think there could be anything written by Nina Croft that I would not like. She just has a way with stories and I am so glad I found her books.

Faith is a bit different from the other female leads in this series. She is 100% human and believes nothing of the supernatural world. Little does she know that she is more connected with the world than she ever knew and her life is about to change forever. I honestly had my doubts about Asmodai and his ability to fall in love with an

While a fun paranormal romance, I’m disappointed to say that BITTERSWEET DARKNESS just didn’t live up to my expectations of The Order series. Sometimes, it just felt like the book was trying too hard – dialogue felt forced, and the action seemed contrived. I enjoyed the book, but this one won’t be one of my favorites of the series.

Don’t get me wrong – Ash sounded like sex on a stick, really, and the scenes between him and Faith were hot, but they felt
This was my second book by Nina Croft and I definitely loved it ... to tell the truth, after the first (from another series) I was not convinced I would read another one written by her but thank good, I got this one and I am really happy about it.

It seems I just could not get enough of Nina Croft this week. I received Bittersweet Darkness from Netgalley and read it right after Death Defying. It did not take me long to see that Bittersweet Darkness it worked very well as a stand along. Skepticism in the paranormal is understandable. "I'll believe it when I see it" makes sense when it comes to this sort of thing. In Faith's case, her disbelief in the paranormal realm seemed to stem from...nothing. At least nothing she could accurately place a finger on. But I loved how that disbelief graduated to belief through circumstances and events, assisted by old friends and new, and culminating in a revelation that left me stun

I wasn't terribly excited about reading this book, simply because it was smack dab in the middle of a series. Reading out of order gives me hives and leaves me feeling a bit faint. Getting into this though, was easy. It was explanatory without me feeling like I was being told the entirety of the previous stories.

Detective Faith Connelly is investigating the murder of a teenage girl when she's abruptly removed from her position in homicide to work for a secret division of the British government.

I haven't read the first book in the series but I read the second. You can bet after reading this one I will be going back and reading the first one. It did not disappoint. Nina has a way of writing that just sucks me right into the story and I had a hard time putting the book down, much to my husband's dismay.

This book puts detective Faith Connolly together with Ash. Ash just happens to be a demon. Faith doesn't believe in monsters. She was compelled by a vampire to not remember he killed her

What is Bittersweet Darkness by Nina Croft? First and foremost, it is a captivating paranormal read. I have not read the first two in the series but this one convinced me that I just had to, so I’ve already bought them. Let me be clear that it’s not that you are unable to follow the story line without the first two, but as you read, you want to know more about this group of characters and their world. This story is that good. This series is now on my 2014 favorites list. The book is full of uniq ...more

Faith Connolly believes in truth and justice. She has spent her life working to make sure that the good triumphs. Her mother's murder kept her focused. Now she is facing some very hard truths. She is not invincible. Even more devastating is the reality that the good guys may not be so good. She is overwhelmed, but she won't give up. She goes to her former partner, Ryan, for assistance and meets Asmodai. He is handsome, sexy and very much into Faith. The stage is set for a wild ride. Bittersweet ...more

Nina Croft has always had a way of sucking me right into her stories and this book is no exception. If you have not picked up the other books in this series I highly recommend that you do. In this particular story we get to watch one of the Demon princes of hell fall in love with a human. Faith (the human in this particular book) has no idea that anything supernatural exists. In fact she firmly is against EVER being made to believe such things. Things from her past bring her to an unexpected pla ...more
