Daniel and Shelby's story is a hot, emotional ride you will want to read again and again. Daniel is king of the dragon shifters. He wants to avoid movie-star Shelby, who he became accidentally mated with a year earlier. But an assassination attempt on her, and on him, binds them together. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat, the chemistry between Daniel and Shelby is sizzling, and I felt like I was experiencing everything along with them. The cast of characters is awesome. I love ...more

Dragon's Heart was a mixed read for me for a few reasons. First, I felt lost when the story began because you're just thrown into the book. You get a few pages of the overall history of dragons and hunters but otherwise the story itself just kinda pops up. When past events are mentioned and people are cited for whatever reason, I had no clue what was being talked about. That took away from the story for me.

The characters themselves weren't my favorite either, because they felt too wishy washy.

Book 1 in the Dragon Lore Series

I adored this book. It had me on the edge of my seat from the minute I started reading it.

Shelby is an actress and Daniel is a dragon, they're from two different worlds. After Shelby is shot in the shoulder they find out Daniel has accidentally mated them together. He is angry b

This book was so painful and confusing I actually bailed on it at the 50% mark (I skimmed the ending, it didn't improve). Finishing books even when I don't like them is a point of pride for me, so to not do so pretty much shows how much I hated this one.

It was a pretty standard shifter Twu-Wuv mating PNR that didn't deviate from industry standard.

Dragon's have always fascinated me, ever since I started reading the fantasy genre, believe it or not, well before romance. Their power and magic, their longevity and solitude. Their wisdom and strength. Treasures. Pack that into a dragon-shifter and you have my ideal man. Or fantasy man. :-) Minus the scales.

The story starts with a prologue taken from the Chronicles of the Egregoroi that entices me immediately as a fantasy lover. Since The Dragon's Heart is Book 1 of the Dragon Lore series, the

Once again my predilection for anything shifty brought this book to my attention. I admit I was more than a little intrigued by the fact that there were dragon shifters in this story, even as much as I was drawn to the promise of a fabulous storyline. I mean, dragon shifters…how can you go wrong?

The Dragon's Heart introduces us to Daniel Ashborne, dragon-shifter king extraordinaire. Daniel is a guy's guy. He is tough as nails and doesn't take crap from anyone. He also doesn't trust anyone, with

Dragon Lore Book 1

Eden Ashe had me from the second page on. I just couldn't put the book down. I had to finish it I fell in love with Daniel the Dragon King. A King who had no friends. #1 Dragon's don't have friends. #2 Dragon's put up with a solitary life. Shelby was an actress and good one at that. But someone is trying to kill her, but who. As I said before this is must read ! You won't be disappointed.

An OK read..

Seriously? Ms. Ashe thought it would be good to have the hero, Daniel, be 6’8” and the heroine, Shelby, be 5’2”? I really couldn’t wait for them to get to the sex part so she could write it like their difference in height was no problem at all. Think about this: When he’s on top of her her face is pressed against his chest, or lower. And he would break his neck bending over to kiss her, or he could just pick her up every time he wanted a kiss. Good grief, give it some thought before

Let it be known that I'm a sucker for shifter romance. I love it all, but never had I thought about dragon shifters. Yep, i just uttered that. Dragon. Shifters. Sexymen who change into dragons. Big, scaley, fire-breathing, treasure hoarding, cave dwelling alpha dragons. And king of them all is Daniel Ashborne. Can I just pick apart his sexy last name first off? He's been waging dragon wars for thousands of years, so I feel like we can rearrange his surname in the old ways. Ashborne. Born of Ash. ...more

Hot, Sexy and Addictive!

Forget other shifter types, the dragons have it in spades in Eden Ashe’s first instalment of The Dragon Lore Series, The Dragon’s Heart! If I had to sum up this book in three words they would be HOT, SEXY and ADDICTIVE! Readers who love urban fantasy or paranormal romance are well advised to check out this novel.

The Dragon’s Heart is a fast paced read which is full of emotion, action and suspense. I liked how the author brought the hero and the heroine together early on i

Overall, I wasn't happy with this book. There was too much of a bipolar behavior between the leads that, even in a modern/urban fantasy, just wasn't believable. The character Shelby was this supposedly strong, vibrant woman but was inept at the simplest of tasks and the character Daniel was unbelievably ignorant as to how mating works within the dragon realm. I can't honestly be sold on the idea that this guy has existed for as long as he has, as a leader of his dragon kin, and not known those k ...more

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a thing for dragons. Make them shape shifters and I’m a goner.
I really enjoyed Eden’s world and found myself wrapped up in her characters. I did want to smack Daniel, repeatedly, for waffling so much but it was a fun ride!

The Dragon's Heart by Eden Ashe is the first book in her Dragon Lore series. I loved this new world filled with surly sexy dragons and cannot wait to read more in this series.

I am going to be a bit "me" here and be overly honest. I didn't expect much from this book and I don't know why. For whatever reason my assumptions fell on the side of "this is going to be full of tropes" about Alpha-hole males and women that take their shit. I was so wrong

First off, Dragon's Heart by Eden Ashe was absolutely amazing! I picked the book up at the TNEE 2016 Authors after Dark convention and immediately fell in love with her writing style. I loved the idea that a tiny slip of a woman (she's described as being about five foot and under a hundred pounds) was willing to go toe to toe will the king of the dragon shifters and not take his attitude. I think my favorite part of the book comes in chapter nine when another dragon angers her so she picks up a ...more

A hot, fast-paced ride that left me wanting more in the most delicious ways...

Loved the characters! They were vividly described so I could picture them in my head, hear their voices, and almost feel their skin. The dragon men were all described as hot, hard, unyielding, just as I would imagine the actual dragon would be. Daniel, as the king, exhibited all these traits to their fullest, making him a physical and emotional foil the the tiny, emotional Shelby. But Shelby had her own kind of strengt

The premise of this book was totally intriguing with dragons and hunters coming together, and an explanation at the beginning of how they came to be. The story of Daniel, dragon king, and Shelby, actress and media darling, involves an accidental mating, someone out to kill her, and reams of hot sex. The plot was good, although under-developed. I would have liked more of it and less of the repetition, including the mating sex, which is not something I often say, but there was so much potential th ...more

This is book 1 of the Dragon Lore series by Eden Ashe it tells the story of Daniel and Shelby. Daniel is the dragon king who can't forget the one woman that he walked away from after mistakenly thinking she tried to kill him. And not knowing that he had already made her his mate. Shelby is the beautiful Hollywood actress that had her heart broken when he left her. Force back together because someone is trying to kill her, they discover they are mated and all hell breaks loose from there.

The book starts and it just throws you in a world that you don't know who is who and the connections between them.
Too many people who i didn't know to the point i had to search in goodreads to see if there was a previous book i might have missed.

One thing you should know about Daniel it's you don't talk about getting naughty with his woman, "hey, she can eat any part of me she wants. Eff, I'd give my left nut for five minutes with that mouth-" Daniel's fist shot out before he realized he'd moved slamming into the guys jaw." Well there's another thing you should know about Daniel when his girl is hurt and you don't move fast enough he lets it be known, "what the hell happened to her?" He roared. "Why are you just standing there? Goddamn

I loved the premise of the story as I've always been a big fan of dragon lore. Eden Ashe has created a world populated by dragons and hunters, normally mortal enemies. But they have to work together to save both their races. Daniel Ashborne is king of the dragons and completely unemotional. There's a line in the book, "We're dragons, we don't have friends". This line is telling, because even though the dragons might not admit it, they are tightly knit friends, brothers really. The interaction be ...more

Wow, I really liked this story and can’t wait to read book two.

I am fond of stories that start off with the main characters either not liking each other or with a past or encounter(s) they think they’d rather forget about. Here the heroine, while admitting she doesn’t hate the hero, is rather upset with him for disappearing a year ago and leaving her with his mess to clean up.

I adored Daniel and Shelby's (h/h) banter. The author adds to the dragon s

The first book in this series was great. I wanted to give it five stars but the only thing that annoyed me periodically was the frequency of tears shedding by Shelby. One moment she was strong, kick butt and take names but in the next breath she was weepy. I know that it probably in line with real female emotion felt as if it happened in every chapter. I also did not know why Shelby's life span wasn't discussed. She is mated to an immortal. Maybe it will be in book two. I nee

Shelby Kincade is a famous actress. Daniel Ashborne was once her bodyguard. He also happens to be a dragon shifter in a world where dragons and Hunters just may be on the brink of a new war. And he just so happens to be the King.

This book had an interesting concept incorporating an ancient sexy race of Dragon shifters, hunters and the human race. The story quickly becomes a reluctant soul mate story that includes dragon shifters that are at war. It was a cute paranormal romance that had some action. The majority of the book concentrates on the relationship between Shelby and Daniel. The danger that Shelby's in becomes an after thought up until the last part of the book.

Daniel is considered the king of his kind and the last thing he needed was to get involved again with Shelby when she tried to kill him. Shelby was trying to get her movie career back on track but seeing Daniel again after what happened almost a year ago she did not want her heart broken again.
