Well this was a delight! I had read the first book, Shredded, in this series and it had been an OK read. So I was on the fence as to whether to continue with this series or not. Obviously, I decided to give it another try. Glad that I did, I really enjoyed this one!
It was so much better. While there was insta-lust between Ash Lewis, hot professional snowboarder and Tansy Hampton, cancer survivor, the pace of their relationship was measured and realistic.

I enjoyed Tracy Wolff's Shredded, but this one was even better. Ash is a fabulous character, and Tansy equally so. It's interesting to read about how orderly and somewhat uptight Ash used to be. Tracy Wolff blew me away with Shattered. Her extraordinary ability to bring such a realistic depiction of life tragedies while masterfully capturing the pure essence of the human heart. I had request the second book at the same time as the first one. I've since then read the first one and didn't like it, but I'm reviewing this as an obligation.
To start it off, I didn't care for Ash. I care for none of these characters really, as they're just copies of Z and Ophelia, whom I didn't like either.

After reading Shredded I was instantly interested in reading about Ash and how he was going to survive what happened to his family. This book picks up about six months after the ending of Z's book, and Ash is lost. He has given up snowboarding because of the extreme guilt he holds. He believes that because he loved snowboarding so much it was his fault his parents and brother were driving up to see him. Ash's guilt was a huge part of this book and it took a certain someone to snap him out of it.

Shattered was really an emotional book that tore at my heart strings the whole way through. After reading Shredded, I really didn't think I could like this one as much. Truthfully I loved it as much and even a little bit more. Ash and Tansy both had so much to deal with and it was wonderful to see each of them taking care of each other.

This series is terrific! Book two is amazing, the heart and the angst wrapped up with yummy snowmen, Ash, Luc and Z! Let me say at the top that I have never snowboarded but I have watched the Olympics and x games, it's a great sport but I was never at a disadvantage by not having snowboarded.
