Well this was a delight! I had read the first book, Shredded, in this series and it had been an OK read. So I was on the fence as to whether to continue with this series or not. Obviously, I decided to give it another try. Glad that I did, I really enjoyed this one!

It was so much better. While there was insta-lust between Ash Lewis, hot professional snowboarder and Tansy Hampton, cancer survivor, the pace of their relationship was measured and realistic.

A romance that tackles serious issues ... survivor guilt; understanding how to accept the hand you are dealt and allowing others around you to accept it, too. This looked at the sacrifices made by family; the concerns they have and when to allow the person who has changed to just live their lives....be who they need to be in this new form.

Guilt can be a poison...
after the understanding of what may have happened... it is so important to

4.5 - Life isn't always easy. It isn't always fair. But it is an adventure. Stars.

I recommend that if you can, read Shredded (Book 1 in this series) before you start Shattered. It isn’t imperative, but you will get an insight into Ash, and just how much the devastating loss of his parents changes him from the ultra organised, down-to-earth planner of the group, to the closed in, emotionally locked down man that you see in Shattered.

Nothing is okay. Nothing is ever going to be okay. That’s not ho

This book packs an emotional punch. It deals with some very serious issues on both the hero and the heroine’s side. I knew from reading the last book that Ash was going to have a lot to deal with and get through, but the addition of the heroines issues made for quite the amount of an

And it was... Infinitely infinite.
This story goes beyond the huge, the epic and the incredible.
I honestly don't expect anything less from Tracy Wolff. This woman amazes me every time I read a book from her. She writes about life. About this journey we all cross. And the way she does it... the way she conjugates the complexity of life with the simplicity of the human feelings is infinitely superb...

It's...

5 Ash Lewis has Shattered my Soul Stars!

I absolutely loved everything about this story. It was a tale of tragedy and heartbreak, survival and acceptance, and the promise of beautiful beginnings! For those who may have read book 1 and found it on the NA/YA fence, I will say the Shattered has a much more powerful NA theme. It is written with heartbreaking angst, friend sharing wisdom, and the perfect combo of sweet/sensual romance.

OMG. This book. Fuckity fuck. I need to find my words to express how I feel about this book. Without spoiling anything. This book is so many things. It is:

~ Gripping. It totally sucked me in. I stayed up until 4am reading it and when I woke up, it was the first thing I reached for. Prepared to be kidnapped by this book. I couldn't focus on anything else until I finished reading it.

~ Emotional. Holy shit was it emotional. From the beginning, Ash had my heart in the palm of his han

I think if not for the woe is me hero I’d have really liked this book a lot more. He was really a buzzkill and I hated how selfish much of his behavior was. He let guilt rule his life so much that he never stopped to consider other people’s thoughts and feelings. He acted like he was the one in pain, suffering and unable to go on with life’s struggles. It was so sad to see him basically give up happiness altogether as some form of self torture all

I enjoyed Tracy Wolff's Shredded, but this one was even better. Ash is a fabulous character, and Tansy equally so. It's interesting to read about how orderly and somewhat uptight Ash used to be. Now, he's trying to recover from losing his parents in a car wreck...the same car wreck that paralyzed his fourteen year old brother and left him sole guardian. On the cusp of Olympic greatness, Ash loses his will to win, loses his love of snowboarding, and loses his interest in life. So he walks away fr ...more

Tracy Wolff blew me away with Shattered. Her extraordinary ability to bring such a realistic depiction of life tragedies while masterfully capturing the pure essence of the human heart. Why did that blow me away, well Wolff also manages to bring us an extreme sport, action packed, romance. Shattered is story telling at its best!

When we finished Shredded we found out that Ash’s family was involved in a terrible car crash. His parents were killed and his little brother was left paralyzed. Shattered is the second book in the Extreme Risk series. It can be read as a standalone, but I really enjoyed knowing the history of the friends in the story. I'm a big Tracy Wolff fan, she never disappoints. I love her writing style, she puts me in the head of the characters I'm reading about. She makes me smile, laugh, snicker, blush, and feel sad too. This is one of those stories that will touch your heart in a very realistic way. You will love Ash, the man with the p

I loved Tansy, "I slam my hands against his chest, push him firmly away. "Yes, talk. Talk. Not screw." Good grief Ash has some anger issues, "who are you?" He demands, as I reach into the freezer and grab a bag of frozen vegetables. "Miss Polly Sunshine? I nearly hit you and you're getting ice for my hand?" He's so damn honest, "it's true," I tell her after licking my tongue against the sensitive spot, taking away the sting. "If you'd been sober, I would have been more than happy to have you all ...more

I had request the second book at the same time as the first one. I've since then read the first one and didn't like it, but I'm reviewing this as an obligation.

To start it off, I didn't care for Ash. I care for none of these characters really, as they're just copies of Z and Ophelia, whom I didn't like either.

Ash lost everything. Lost his parents, lost his chance at the Olympics. The only thing left for him is survivor's guilt and his brother Logan who was in the same accident that took hi

Ms. Wolff has provided an incredible follow up to her first book "Shredded" in the extreme risk series. Can "Shattered" be read as a stand alone? After reading Shredded I was instantly interested in reading about Ash and how he was going to survive what happened to his family. This book picks up about six months after the ending of Z's book, and Ash is lost. He has given up snowboarding because of the extreme guilt he holds. He believes that because he loved snowboarding so much it was his fault his parents and brother were driving up to see him. Ash's guilt was a huge part of this book and it took a certain someone to snap him out of it. ...more

Aptly named book with a sexy snow boy on the front. I absolutely love this series. This was the second in the series about a group of snowboarders so intertwined that they're almost family.
