Let your imagination run wild with this book, featuring 380 enchanting animal embroidery motifs. Using traditional embroidery, cross stitch, and applique techniques, you can create motifs, borders, and alphabets unlike any you've seen before."
I'm definitely borrowing this again - just don't have time to put any of it into practice. Cute, cute designs including some border patterns and cross stitch if that's your thing. But mostly embroidery.
Got this book from the library and the patterns are really cute and the instructions are great for beginners. I'll be adding the little owls to my personal pieces, but I especially love the tiny spider. You'll know it when you see it.
The overview instructions have clear accompany photos. Each motif has it's own instructions with the colors stitches for each part. Some of the motifs are only in cross stitch and others use a wide range of stitches. The cross stitch designs don't look as nice in these tiny motifs.
The motifs are indeed tiny and range from representative to whimsical. There aren't any projects but with the individual instructions for each motif and both the design and a photo of the actual finished product, and a few pictures of samples, I feel the book doesn't need them.
After hearing Sarah from Fiber Trek talk about this book, I had to have a copy. While it doesn't include pattern instructions (well, not really...some ideas, though), the info on embroidery is useful, and the drawings are darling. I foresee a lot of tiny critters peeking out of pockets in my future!
