I read this book by Ralph Nader at the tender and impressionable age of like 15. It was recommended to me by a forward thinking vegetarian who was in theater whilst I was on stage crew. Pretty radical for sleepy Wisconsin. As a disclaimer, I am pretty sure this was the book: it was a book about what the FDA allowed on the market as 'edible' when in actuality it was full of poisons and harmful ingredients.
