Used Aliens

Used Aliens is a satirical adventure comedy about fakery, life across the cosmos, and good-old-fashioned naughty behavior.

Aliens are secretly manipulating and filming Jimmy Fresneaux as he struggles to become the next big celebrity fisherman. When a flying saucer crashes into his fishing hole, Jimmy tries to use the stranded survivors to jump-start his TV career. This first contact isn't accidental though. The Galactic Pool's saddest excuse for a politician has committed sabotage while plotting to rule Earth. And he's about to find out what happens when you mess with Earthlings.

M. Sid Kelly writes plans intended to protect fish during massive infrastructure projects. His documents are widely read only when there's a lawsuit. No fish died in the writing of Used Aliens. And unfortunately, Used Aliens hasn't been sued yet.

M. SID KELLY’S USED ALIENS

I enjoyed USED ALIENS and am hoping for a follow up book. I try to completely read every book I start. When I started this book I almost quit after about 30 pages. The first part of the book describes the vast number of characters that are present in this story. The quantity of characters with hard names was confusing. Fortunately it all started to make sense and ended up as quite an interesting story. Do to the intricate story line, the beginning of the book was necessary to lay the ground work for the story. As it turned out I wish the book was a lot longer than the 300+ pages. I wanted to read more.
Thanks to Goodreads for giving me this opportunity to receive my copy of USED ALIENS by M. SID KELLY for free thru their First Reads Giveaway. Mike Mosley

This was a bit of an odd ball to start with because the first part of the book did not fit with the description and I was questioning whether something odd was going on. I am, though, very happy that I continued through the book because it became hillarious. There is a little bit of everything in this book and it is well thought through on many levels but the most punchy part for me were some of the slapstick comedy sections which got me some strange looks on the train as I laughed my way between stations! This book is well worth making the initial trek which actually sets the scene quite well.

This is a great book. Very interesting and very funny. A different look at first contact. A galactic community of kooky diverse aliens disturbingly familiar in some ways - Lying, plotting, scheming - media manipulation and politics on a grand scale. The fishing analogies are hilarious. Done with him - all right throw him back in. I got a good laugh from their failed attempt to haul in an angry hippopotamus - not easy even with their advanced tech. I even learnt why the dinosaurs were wiped out and what an advanced species evolved from shell fish might be like. They don't like us much but they do their best to be tolerant.
Very amusing - well worth a read.

Not QUITE up to Douglas Adams standards as far as writing, but I was very entertained....many hearty belly laughs ensued! I liked it a lot!

I won this book from Goodreads in return for an honest review.
My husband Tony read this and it his review that follows.

HILARIOUS! As a keen fisherman and a Sci-Fi fan, the author (M. Sid Kelly), made me feel this book was written just for me! Brilliant characters, great writing, an interesting and humorous storyline with laughs on every page!(The illustrations are pretty cool too!).This book brings a whole new aspect to Alien Abduction,(can I book my appointment NOW please?). One word of caution though, be very careful where you read this book as laughing out, loud for no apparent reason, in public places,(such as on a bus ,or in a doctors waiting room) can get you some very strange looks!!(I can vouch for this personally!!). My well read copy now sits in my bookcase next to "A hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" and I'm searching for the follow up on-line (note to my family, Christmas is coming soon !).It's quite simply one of the funniest books I've ever read and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good laugh!

Not your average alien book by a long shot, well worth a read that's for sure as its story twists around in a few ways that keep your interest.

It was a while ago I originally read "Used Aliens ;A novel" & have owned the second book in the series for a while but never managed to get round to getting the book started. In fact my kindle sat unused for a while
I then saw that the 3rd book was available.

I am having a re-read of the first book so I continue and enjoy the series back to back

If you don't laugh seek help.

One of the best kindle unlimited books I have read in a while. Fun, lighthearted, and what I hope first contact, if it ever occurs, is like.
Sid Kelly is a rare gem.

Great hook: Tournament Bass Fishing and Aliens. As for the book itself, not bad, but it could have used some editing. There was one fishing scene that appeared twice. Although the scene's second appearance was from a different perspective, it seemed misplaced in the time line. Although I wouldn't go so far as to label this as "Douglas Adams Meets Carl Hiaasen" I definitely wouldn't mind giving Mr. Kelly's next book a go.

WOW! What can I say other than what a wacky story that was just a little weird and managed to keep me reading. Pro Bass Fishing and Aliens - you gotta love it. I have to say that it's won that I would recommend to others that enjoy the somewhat "Weird and Wacky" and FUN read. I will be paying it forward and passing this on to a friend since I won my copy on GoodReads

Absolutely LOVED it!!!!! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this book! Even if it is never worth a zillion bucks one day, it is definitely one for the shelves in my opinion! And, if by chance it does gain interest and become worth something, I would NEVER sell it!!! Thank you again!!!

Satire in the Douglas Adams style, but of course noone is Douglas Adams (not even Douglas Adams most days)

On one level, this book seems to be slapstick, tossing crazy ideas and characters at the reader. But, on deeper read, there is good commentary with interesting plot points. A great read.

This book started out a little hyper and with the bizarre character names it was hard to settle in easily. As I continued reading, it evened out a little and I found it entertaining. It was funny, and while there is a detailed focus on fishing (which I am not even remotely interested in) it was still easy to follow.
