I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I discovered Lily Everett's writing a little more than a year ago and I have yet to be disappointed. Every time I read one of her books in the Sanctuary Island series, I am ready to pack my bags and move there by the time I finish the book. An island with wild horses and a great community - who wouldn't want to live there? While this book could be read as a stand alone, parts of t

Heartbreak Cove is the third book in Lily Everett's Sanctuary Island series. It is the first book I have read in the series but not my first visit to the Island. Having read Homecoming last year, I quickly fell in love with the Island and it's inhabitants.

Sheriff Andie Shepard and Sam Brennan's story is one that will grab you from the prologue and keep you entertained until the very end. A woman of the law and a horse rescuer with a whole host of secret

Let me start by saying that I love animals - many times more than humans. So this book hit me particularly hard. Abusing an animal is horrible beyond belief! Sam Brennan became my hero. But that's in the story line and I'm not about to spoil this book for future readers.

"Heartbreak Cove" melted my heart more than a little. I actually cried. It is a beautiful story in the series and I will not soon forget it.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review thi

OK, let me start with how good this book was, I did not really want to read it when I started it but I wanted to get it out of the way before the end of the month, figured I would do some scanning and write a decent review. Easy huh.

Unfortunately, the book would not allow me that option. the story kept getting better and if it started to drag anyplace it picked back up before I could get bored. Romance, suspense, a bit of action, a hint of mystery, what more could you want?

How about a love affa

I want to move to Sanctuary Island- such a blissful setting for a book. My first book by this author- but I am now keen to start following this series.

Andie is the new Sheriff- she has also fallen in love with the place. She finds that she has a niece that she never knew that she had and the little girl is very reserved. She only reacts to the horses on the Island. Sam has brought a horse, Queenie, that needs rehabilitating at the horse rescue centre. He’s got a past that he wants to leave behin

My first Lily Everett book, and I'm coming in on the 3rd book in the Sanctuary Island series.

The Sherriff, Andie, and the lawless ex-con, Sam, have a ton of chemistry. A chemistry they both fight. The story setup is gradual as we get a lot of background information. The romance is slow and sweet. They both have secret pasts that they are afraid will catch up to them.

Andie gets a bomb dropped on her from her estranged, military brother. He has a an 8 year old daughter, whose mother recently passe

The island citizens rally around two outsiders who need sanctuary more than they realize. Quirky fun awaits you in the third book of this entertaining series.

Sheriff Andie Shepard loves the law which doesn't leave much room in her life for personal relationships. This is why she is confused by her attraction to the lawless Sam Brennan. The way the man moves, the way he looks at her, everything about him shouts "danger" and ye

Heartbreak Cove is the first of the Sanctuary Island books that doesn't focus on the Preston sisters, Ella and Merry. But that doesn't make this book any less enjoyable. I think part of the reason I love this series is the way Ms. Everett writes: it's lush and emotional and never fails to pull me in. (She's kind of like Tessa Dare in that respect.)

Andie Shepard is the new sheriff of Sanctuary Island. She has no time for romance, but that doesn't stop romance from arriving in the form of

Lily Everett has quickly become a must read author for me. She never disappoints. Heartbreak Cove was up to her normal high standards, and I found it to be one that I loved. It has wonderful characters, Sheriff Andie Shephard, her ten year old niece, Caitlyn, and Sam Brennan. These three heartbroken people may be just what each other need to build a happy future. The storyline was great, and I can't wait until we next return to Sanctuary Island! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providin ...more

This is the third book in the Sanctuary Island series. This story is about Sheriff Andie Shepard who discovers how to love when her unknown niece comes to stay with her. It is also about Sam Brennan who rescues abused horses. Together these three people learn about love, trust and second chances.
The book was a quick easy read.

Perfect as a beach read, I took this book on my annual Sister-Trip. This book pulled me in, kept me interested, and made me regret it was done I enjoyed it so much.

I think of this as a two-part story. First, we have Sheriff Andie Shepard being introduced to and slowly forging a relationship with a niece she didn't even know she had. Second, there is the abused and untrusting horse, with its equally damaged human caretaker, finding refuge on the island and a possible home. How the two stories unf

I was lucky enough to get a review copy from the publisher through NetGalley. I'm a huge fan of Lily Everett and was so excited to read the next book in her Sanctuary Island series. I loved this book so much! I feel I should warn you in advance there will be much gushing in this review.

Andie and Sam are my new favorite characters in this series. They are both such strong characters and I love how they will both do anything to protect those they love. I also fell in love with Andie's niece Caitli

Not many stories can make my heart ache so much but Lily Everett managed to fill me with emotions with Heartbreak Cove.

Misplaced blame, perceived mistakes and lack of support has Andie starting fresh in Heartbreak Cove, a place where she yearns to belong and make home.

Sam has his own hauntings and a past he doesn’t talk about. He is in Heartbreak Cove for more than a visit with his cousin. He’s brought with him a horse he’s rescued, Queenie, and will spend a lot of time rehabilitating her as wel
Heartbreak Cove is #3 in Lily Everett's Sanctuary Island series. It is another small town, contemporary romance, with enough points of difference to help it stand out from the myriad of books that follow this format. I quickly became engaged and thoroughly enjoyed it.

When two people feel this pull to be together what can you do? They both have past they are working through yet not by choice. It took the lost hope, faith, and trust of Sheriff Andie Shepard’s niece, Caitlin, to bring it to the forefront.
Sam Brennan is running and hiding from the law. As he has all his life. Caitlin and he have something in common and it will take their love of horses to bring it to the surface. Yet, with the knowledge that he needs to and should stay far away from Caitlin’s

"Heartbreak Cove" started out as a slow read and I will admit that I had a hard time connecting to the story and characters. Then Chapter 3 and I found myself dragged into a story that had a little bit of everything.

Sheriff Andie Shepard came to Sanctuary Island after a relationship failed. She likes her new job on the Island as well as the people she has gotten to know. While acting as Const

Heartbreak Cove by Lily Everett is the best yet of the novels that take place on Sanctuary Island. All are good but this story stole my heart. I can tell you my favorite Nora Roberts books are going to have to move over because this one is going on that never-to-be-forgotten-but-will-be-reread shelf.

The island certainly lives up to its name in this book where four-legged and two-legged creatures needed to find a place of refuge and belonging. All the drama and intrigue that is part of small tow

A sweet story about redemption and the healing power of love. Sanctuary Island is aptly named; a place where people go to heal and start again. Andi, the town sheriff, arrived on the island a few years ago and has quickly built a home. Over night, her life is turned upside down by the arrival of a niece she never knew she had. Her brother is leaving on a military mission and has just learned he has a child and the mother is dead...with no other options, the little girl, Caitlin, is sent to live ...more

A story that takes place on an island that you need to take a ferry to get to. The sheriff is female named Andie Shepard and she is there working on putting her life back in order with no distractions. Her first one is a call from her brother before he is deployed about having a daughter he did not know about and he needs her to take care of her until he gets back. Her mother passed away and he did not know about his daughter until a few days ago. She agrees but when she arrives neither one know ...more

First off I rarely give books a five star rating, However this book truly does deserve it. I love the character in the book, I love how they feel more like catching up with a friend then just reading a story about fictional characters. In the beginning I wrote down that Andie was broken, but loved deeply, she was tough but had a soft spot. Sam was running from something but was also hiding from something, he also loved deeply but didn't always show it. When I finished the book I would have to th ...more

Sanctuary Island is honestly becoming one of my favorite settings for companion novels. Seriously, there is something about this place. It’s so magical, and it has such a way of bringing people together, and helping them get through things even when it seems as if it seems like it may not be possible. Oh, and it has wild horses. This time around in Heartbreak Cove, Lily Everett (re)introduces us to Sheriff Andie Shepard and reformed bad-boy Sam Brennan. We had a brief encounter with them before ...more

Reading this book brought back old, familiar memories. First it was just a girl's dream and then I was working with horses. Lily has become a favorite author for me. She knows how to get her people to co-operate with her awesome story line. Andie is the Sheriff of Sanctuary Island. She runs a tight ship but will manage an infraction to the best of the suspects good. Sam has a troubled life. He was an ex-con with a spoiler later in the story. He runs a Horse Rescue business and a Major Spoiler he ...more

Such a fantastic book!! If you love sweet small town romances, put this one on the must read list. This latest installment in the Sanctuary Island series is one of the best. Two new characters to the island and their story is perfect. Sheriff Andie Shepard lives her life according to the rules. Her job is to enforce rules and keep others safe, which she takes very seriously. Her life is truly turned upside down when two things happen. First, a call from her brother telling her he has a daughter ...more
