I received an e-copy of this book from the publishers at NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Alright so the cover leaves a bit to be desired and the synopsis is a little odd. I decided to give it a try anyway. I have always seen good things from Entangled and I expected this book to be no less than awesome. I have a copy of Lindsey R. Lourks's The Grave Winner which I haven't read just yet, but have heard great reviews of it. I was hoping Haunted Chemistry would be another fun

This was indeed a great, creepy, shivery ghost story! The kind that makes you (well me for sure) walk down the stairs to the basement - especially if you live in the same style of building - a little slower. If you (okay me) are a big chicken (yes I am) you make someone else go down and turn a light on for you so you don't have to go down in the dark.

Alexis heads to the basement of her apartment complex to do laundry. On her way down she bumps into Ian Reese. Alexis has a crush on Ian. The feelings are mutual. It appears that Ian has just moved into the building.

Alexis finishes going to the basement. Alexis gets a spooky sensation when she gets in the basement like someone is watching her. The cupboard opens by itself. Alexis gets scared but luckily Ian is there to protect her. It seems that the basement is haunted.

This is a short story about a ghost haunting an apartment.

Alexis and Ian find more than they bargain for in the laundry of their apartment building. While the ghost is haunting them, they rekindle their romance.

The story flows smoothly with great dialogue and descriptions. The characters are strong and vivid. And the plot is intriguing and entertaining with just enough spooky to give the reader chills.

This book would make a great story to read on Halloween with friends around a camp fire.

It has been three weeks since Alexis has moved into her new apartment. She needs to do her laundry. As she is about to enter the basement door, she runs into her lab partner from last semester's Chemistry class. Alexis is still harboring angry feelings that Ian stood her up for their first date and disappeared all summer without a word. Ian makes polite conversation but never mentions the date that never was.

In the basement laundry room, "there's a wall of storage cupboards. Each one is about th

I’m really enjoying the opportunity to review for the new Entangled Ever After and Covet lines because I’m discovering so many new-to-me authors whose books I love. Lindsey R. Loucks is a name I’d never heard before, but after reading her excellently-paced “Haunted Chemistry” I’ve added her to my list of writers to keep an eye out for in the future.

Haunted Chemistry is a short story about two college students whose lives get entangled with a ghost.

The story starts off with Alexis heading towards the laundry room where she stumbles upon her crush, Ian. Alexis and Ian were chemistry lab partners in the previous semester. They had mutual feelings for each other and even had a first date coming. However, an unfortunate incident happened which caused Ian to not show up for their date. In Haunted Chemistry by Lindsey R Loucks, Alexis never expected to run into Ian in the laundry room of her apartment building. She hasn't seen him since just before he stood her up on what would have been their first date. Alexis thought they had a great time together in their chemistry class and felt like they had a good connection. But maybe she was wrong. She intends to find out now that she has the opportunity.

Haunted Chemistry by Lindsey R. Loucks is a freaky and sexy novella that will make you paranoid to do laundry and will have you stocking up on salt. In typical Loucks style, there's a nice mixture of weird supernatural happenings and tense love story.

The story centers on college student Alexis, who moves into a new apartment. Lo and behold, her next door neighbor is none other than Ian, her cute-as-heck lab partner who stood her up and never came back. Now that they're sharing the same building

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

I was expecting a fun, kind of spooky, and sexy story when I started Haunted Chemistry. I wasn't expecting it to actually scare the crap out of me! I'm sure most readers will find this ghost story a little silly (it is), but as soon as a hand came out of that cupboard, I was terrified. No joke. I do spook easily though. Haunted Chemistry starts off with one of the biggest horror story cliches: doing laundry in the basement, at night, during a storm. Yep, that

Haunted Chemistry was a cute (albeit scary) story about two college students who get drawn into someone else’s evil web. Ian and Alexis made plans to go on a date, but when Ian didn’t show up, it left Alexis wondering if she’d imagined the sparks between them. When she finally finds out why he didn’t make it, everything seems to fall into place .

There were some really funny parts to this story.

I'm really surprised how much I actually enjoyed this short story given that it was written in a first person pov. I tend to stay away from books like that due to the script like read but this story was the complete opposite. One of the best things about this book was the lack of repetition which is a standing theme in first person stories. Truthfully this has been one of the most

Sometimes a short read can surprise you with the elements the author manages to give us. Alex is just moved into a new apartment 3 weeks ago and decides she needs to do laundry. As she nears the door to the basement in her complex she runs into Ian. Ian stood her up on a date and she has had a hard time dealing with that. The not knowing why is almost as bad as the actual no show. While she's in the basement a cupboard door keeps opening and she freaks out and runs out to once again run into Ian ...more

Now, normally this is not my usual read, however, the story, along with the cover... kinda of interested me. It begins a bit slow but it picks up rather quickly. The book didn't go too fast for me but at the same time, it didn't seem to drag out like some books tend to do with monologuing about each of the characters and plot-line. There were parts in this book where I was seriously creeped out.. Cabinets opening themselves and then Ian, who

This was probably the least favorite of the novellas that I read this week. It had sort of a campy feel to me. I couldn't help picturing the girl from The Ring crawling out of the T.V. when she was describing the ghost girl crawling out of the cupboard.

I did like the romantic aspect of the story, Alexis and Ian running into each other just as the ghost makes her first appearance. Alexis having to overcome the awkwardness of being stood up at the end of spring semester and Ian trying to come up
It was a quick read, not bad and just in time for Halloween. Liked the characters of Alexis and her former chemistry partner Ian and even like Tri cat who thought he was a dog. When she ran, she ran into Ian who was on his way out of the laundry room. And he in his own way, protected her and for his troubles, after awhile ended up vanishing ...more

I wish the book had been longer, and had more details, other than that I loved it. Alexis her mind is so damn funny, "he's the reason I got a B in the lab. I couldn't focus on anything but him. We had some serious chemistry." I mean she takes a simple question and somehow it's turned into something sexual, "all sorts of perverted thoughts run through my head. I would love to go down, thank you very much." She's a saucy thing as well, "can you handle the sight of all my lacy underwear?" I mean yo ...more

Reading Lindsey R. Loucks's Haunted Chemistry is a lot like sitting around a dying camp fire, telling spooky stories as the night settles eerily around you. It's a fun read, and a delicious shiver or two might be in order. It definitely kept me entertained.

However, it does fall into the trap of the novella--not a lot of room for plot development--and because of this there are some pretty big coincidences and awfully neat conclusions reached. Still, it's n

General: I was really torn by this book. I loved the cover and it sounded like a cute read. The problem is I felt like it was a "cute" read. None of the interactions felt terribly realistic and yet I was so drawn into the plot itself I couldn't stop reading. The characters were fairly two dimensional and I had no fondness for Ian at all.
