I am the author of this book so naturally I like it! I do feel it is very romantic and has some subtle sex with just enough finesse but not graphic. The emphasis is on love and emotion rather than raw sex. My readers tell me they love Claire but it takes time to warm up to Julian, which is exactly what I hoped to create.

I wanted to show how deep love does'nt always hit us right away - it takes time and sometimes we can miss it because it isn't exciting at first. It also explores how

First thing I would like to say is I LOVED this book. It was very hard for me to put down. The writing was fantastic and the characters! The characters were wonderfully written. I love the interaction between Claire and Julian with their trials and tribulations.

I felt like Claire and Julian were very relatable. The gradual building of their love is what really set the tone for the story. It was not an

Claire sees Julian at a party. He becomes a growing focus of her life. Julian is married to an older woman. She has cancer and soon dies.

Julian resembles a Greek god. He is a sexy hunk indeed.

Julian and Claire live in a wonderland of exciting jobs, lovely homes and designer dresses.

Claire becomes a temptress. Julian resists. He is made of sterner stuff than most sexy hunks. Will he become the lover of the pretty lady? Will Claire have her way with him ? Stay tu

A sexy book about temptation and secret desire. The lives and emotions of all characters feel like real people. The author does an outstanding job of building sexual tension, leaving the reader questioning when the characters will get what they want. This hunger does not go unfed for long. As desire reaches its threshold, unpredictable scenes wait around every corner. I highly recommend this book.

This book is very romantic from beginning to end! I love their trials and tribulations they go through to get to the end result of how much they truly love one another. Helen's writing style is very fluid, which makes this book so easy to read! I can't wait for the sequel!

I am currently beta reading Helen's latest project and loving her work. So, when she offered me a copy to read and review her debut published book, Chances & Choices, I didn't think twice to accept the honor before me.

Let me start with saying that I got really personal towards the story. Not only am I married to my long time best friend, but just as the title, the story was about chances and choices, that we as humans are facing every single day. We walk in our lives based on the chances an

I usually prefer darker books, but I still thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, which is more of a lighter romance. Chances & Choices is about a friendship between two people that transitions into love. Claire is a young woman who works for a magazine, and Julian is a successful fashion designer. Although I don’t typically care to read about people with glamorous jobs, I still found myself to be enthralled by this book anyway. It was a bit like watching a chick flick but one of the good on ...more

This book was definitely realistic as far as circumstances, emotions, marriage, and chances & choices. At the beginning you could feel the longing and love Julian had for Claire. She was a bit resistant at first but deep down she knew she loved him too. Most books end with the marriage at the end of the book. Not this one. Within the first quarter or so they get married. I am not used to this so I was wondering what could the rest of the book possibly be about or keep my interest. That made ...more

I really liked this story! In almost all the romance books I read, the main characters have an instant attraction to one another. In this book however, the two main characters are friends who eventually fall in love with each other.
I really love the characters in this book! I feel bad for Julian. The love of his life died and he is afraid to love again. Claire on the other hand left New York because she wasn’t ready to move i

This was such a great book, easy read, once I picked it up I could not put it down! Helen did such an amazing job with describing the characters, I was able to quickly paint a picture of them. I loved the friendship slowly turn into a romantic relationship. All the ups and downs in the story especially when Richard came back in the picture kept me turning the pages! I love Claire and Julian's relationship I really hope we can read more of them!! This is a great read I highly recommend it!!! 5 st ...more

This was like a game of tennis, backwards then forwards, the paddling & a smash. Claire returns to LA reunited with her best friend Julian. He's fallen in love with her over 3 years ago but now she's back, newly broken up from a passionate relationship. Over time their feelings change, then become complicated whilst they adjust to each other & their pasts which entwined with their now. Great characters, superb writing, a plot that keeps you guessing & hoping, then hopping mad , sympa ...more

This book is more about fear than grief, it's a classic example of what can happen when a couple stop talking, and make wrong assumptions about what the other one is feeling. There's a bad guy (I really didn't like the arrogant bugger), an unexpected ally, and an old friend with sage advice. It had a few typos which meant it lost the flow a few times, but was generally well written, and most of the characters were enjoyable. A good light read.

I really liked this book. It was romantic and the characters were quite real. Claire is pretty on top of things in her life and and determined. The hero is a fashion designer - so different from the latest run of billionare CEO. It is a sweet romance with some nice sex. Worth reading if you like the genre.

Full review to be posted soon but I really enjoyed this book. It was one of those books that could make you smile and even laugh at one point and then another a little later you wanted to reach in and smack *someone* upside the head!

I love a book that can arouse strong emotions from me and just plain arouse me. Nicely done Helen.

I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. I loved it, the story flows through really well and the characters and their feelings seems so real and I felt their pain, happiness, sadness and love. This is one of those stories you will read more than once, I know I will. Great job Helen Karol, look forward to reading more from you.

I liked the development in this story, but it was a tad too sweet of a HEA. Now don't get me wrong, I love HEA's, but I would have liked a bit more angst with the ex-boyfriend. Overall a good book but it won't stay with me & this one doesn't make my "book boyfriend" list.

Julian's and Claire's love story in Chances & Choices is nearly perfect. I have to agree with a lot of the characters in the book that Claire had a way of acting out childishly, but each time was in response to Julian's rejection. So honestly she needed an outlet. I strongly recommend this book.

Writing is my great love. I finally made time to devote to it in 2013 and self-published my debut novel, Chances and Choices. Since then I have gone on to write my best-selling ongoing e-serials Her Keeper and Intimate Knowledge, as well as HIS By Design, the erotic version of Chances & Choices. In 2015, I published the first book in my Hope Junction Series, The Rancher’s Woman, with Stormy Ni ...more
