OMG! Nina had done it again!!! Gosh I love this woman's writing!! Her words always make a story come alive in my mind! She is so talented in everything she does!! I just finished my beta read of "The Erotic Light" and let me just say that this book was one big mind f**k!!! Holy smoly, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!! Nina had me guessing all of the way until the end of the story! Wow! I don't want to give anything away, so I am going to be very vague!! I will say that this book was ...more

Not as good as the first one. I felt slightly let down. I was expecting a bit more than I got. Or less, to be exact. It had too much going on. Sex scenes felt like they were just randomly thrown in, so the story could still pass as an erotica.
In the first book, the dominant trio felt dynamic and cohesive, as different as their characters were, when it came to Lydia, they had the same goal, similar desires and for the most part agreed on things.
In The Erotic Light however, they w

Well, i didn't enjoy reading this book!

Lydia is one of the reasons why i hate a heroine sometimes...she really bothered me.....she was a real slut with no indignity or self-worth in sight!

As for Gabriel...yeah he was the nice kind one in the story the one with the shoulder to lean on but for me he was like a fly on a wall, not a lot of influence or charisma there.......
like for example: he was totally fine and cool with others having her...! (Which i was totally not)

As for preston, i didn't en

If you liked Gabriel in book 1, you will probably love this one. For me Gabriel is the least interesting character hence my 3 star rating. Now this isn't a bad review, I enjoyed reading it. It was an easy, entertaining book. While there is a romance, this is primarily erotica. The heroine is getting it on with gusto with all 3 men, lucky girl!

Preston is a fun villain. I really liked him despite his sadistic obsessive need for Lydia.

Kruin was my favorite in book 1 but unfortunately as in book 1

Preston hated the way Gabriel and Lydia looked at each other, hated their growing closeness and the idea that Gabriel occupied a place in Lydia's thoughts that crowded Preston out. That last bit was the worst, for Preston wanted every one of Lydia's dreams, hopes, thoughts, and desires focused unerringly on him.

This series will most definitely push you to the ends of your comfort limits, it's one

I discovered Nina Lane when I happened upon her truly gorgeous Spiral of Bliss trilogy – she really is a purveyor of elegant smut and that particular trio of books ranked and still ranks amongst my top reads of all time so I was delighted to discover that Nina had dived into the relatively murky waters of darkish erotica before she began the Spiral of Bliss trilogy and written a hidden little gem – The Erotic Dark.

The story centres around a woman (we’ll call her Lydia although that’s not her rea

If there is one thing I have learned from this brilliant author is to expect the unexpected. At the end of the first book The Erotic Dark I was left wanting more. Thoughts of the characters danced in my mind haunting me and for that reason alone my focus was lost. Needless to say I was blown away when I started reading The Erotic Light by the many twists and turns that left me gasping in surprise.

Characters we thought we knew so well continued to surprise and delight in their thoughts and action

I had such a distaste for Preston in The Erotic Dark. But some how I manged to warm myself to him in the end.
In The Erotic Light that distaste I once had for Preston has now turned to disgust!! The word hate just doesn't describe just how much I loathed him.

Kruin is still a big mystery to me.. in the first book I had no real feelings towards him, well other than him being big an scary... that still remains the same however, he does finally show some real human emotions that makes him seem almost

I liked this SO much more than the first book. I found it a lot darker and in many ways it is more depraved. It picks up shortly after the previous book ended and it becomes clear almost immediately that Preston's tenuous hold on sanity is slipping because of his jealousy. I disliked him in book one and I absolutely hated him here. He makes for an excellent deranged and sadistic villain. Gabriel is almost perfect (in his own moderately screwed up way). The differences between him and Preston and ...more

I was thrilled to read the sequel to The Erotic Dark. I've been waiting for this book from Nina Lane and she did not disappoint. The lives of Lydia, Preston, Kruin, and Gabriel take many twists and turns. We also delve into Lydia's past, as she's set 'free' to live outside the boundaries of the plantation.

This is a very dark read and not meant for the faint of heart. Well done Ms. Lane!!!

The Erotic Dark & The Erotic Light is a two book series by the extremely talented author Nina Lane. I must admit I signed up for this tour on a whim because the books looked very intriguing and I am so glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed this series filled with a great plot and oh so great erotica!

In book one, The Erotic Dark we meet all the players of this series ~ Lydia the heroine running from the law, Preston the friend from her past that offers her shelter and anonymity and Kruin an

The Erotic Light picks up right where we are left at the end of The Erotic Dark. Lydia has come to embrace her desire to submit to the three men she lives with at La Nouvelle Vie. A turn of events causes her to need to leave the plantation and return to her family and a life she no longer wants. Shortly before she is forced to leave the plantation, she starts to realize the depths of Preston's obsession with her and desire to possess her completely. I rated The Erotic Light by Nina Lane FIVE LEAVES!!

This second book in the The Erotic Dark Series drew me in and kept me consumed just as well as the first. Nina Lane is such a great storyteller. She creates a story that sucks you in and leaves you wanting more.

The story picks up right where the first book left off with the complicated relationship with Lydia and Preston, Kruin, and Gabriel. The first book is mainly about Lydia accepting her life at La Nouvelle Vie; The Erotic Light focused mo

The Erotic Light picks-up where The Erotic Dark ends. Lydia is still living with Preston, Kruin, and Gabriel. She has begun to enjoy living her simple life on the plantation, finds herself wanting to please all three men, and she especially enjoys all her time with Gabriel. As previously mentioned, Preston (he is just a d-bag), is becoming jealous of Lydia and Gabriel’s relationship since he thinks that Lydia belongs to him. Somehow Lydia’s father arrives at the plantation and demands that Lydia ...more

I have been waiting to read this/these books for the longest time, but just couldn’t justify spending like $5.99 for 197 pages. Thankfully it went on sale! I was so excited I literally stopped reading a book I was currently reading and started reading this one right away.

I've been looking forward to reading this book for awhile and just got around to reading it. It was a lot different from the first book- definitely not as dark, but I enjoyed it. Preston was still a sadistic bastard I wanted to choke to death. He was so obsessed with Lydia. He wanted to be her every thought and desire and he wanted complete domination of her body and soul. He hated the fact that Gabriel and Kruin even entered her thoughts. He loved to humiliate her every chance he got and Charlo ...more

Boy oh boy does Nina pack a tensely woven story. Preston and his whole demeanour had me hooked right to the end. He is for me the glue that spellbinds this tale all the way through. His actions, his jealousy and his complete and utter need to control Jane is most definitely the engine that drives this book.

Oh my do I love Gabriel, he can come rescue me any day. Kruin again was a silent dominance, ever present but not in your face like Preston.

As Jane learns to live outside of La Nouvelle Vie it

4.5 stars for the series

I have to admit this series is a bit whacked. BUT...whacked in a good way. This series is so unique and intriguing, I was hooked from the first chapter. I absolutely love Ms. Lane's books, and The Erotic Dark series is right up there!

I can't even explain the story of Lydia. At first, I was appalled at went she went through, but then I was OK with it. It was all consensual and I think it's the how this author tells the story through each character and why these events happ

At the end of book one I thought we were heading towards a symbiotic relationship between the four main characters. With each meeting a certain need of Lydia's and everyone learning and growing together.

Ya, that's not how it all played out AT ALL. For most of the book Lydia was gone from La Nouvelle Vie and back living under hers parents guard. Kruin was pretty much MIA is this book. Preston crossed the line into batshit crazy, and Gabriel popped in a few times here and there to progress the rom

I liked this one better than the first. I felt like it had a bit more of a dark feel to it. Only because of Preston. I knew I didn't like that guy. She has learned that while she was living with the 3 guys she has become used to living the way they had her, no makup, dresses, no panties and ready at all times. Some authors never disappoint. Nina Lane is one of them. I read "The Erotic Dark" when it was first published a couple of years ago and loved it. I was thrilled to learn there would be a sequel, but that took a long time to happen. In the meantime, I did keep myself blissfully happy with Nina Lane's other books.

Finally, "The Erotic Light" was available and I pounced on it, and despite the 50+ unread books on my tablet, started to read it, immediately. This story follows the saga of Lydia, Presto

Nina's Lane's writing style is beautiful. Just as before with the first book in the series, I loved the style. I was happy to be back a the plantation with Lydia and her dark trio, and I supposed I was hoping for more of the same with this book. There was still lots of smut and lovely scenery, but I found the degradation of Lydia/Jane in this one to be a little much. Not too too much, but there was much more cringe-worthy humiliation for the main character here, rather than willing humiliation a ...more

After reading The Erotic Dark, I couldn't wait to dig into The Erotic Light. It was just as great as the first one!! Nina held no punches with this sequel. Just when I thought Preston couldn't be any more malicious, he surprised me by being even lower than before. Can we say unstable? It was obvious in The Erotic Dark that Preston was insanely obsessed with Lydia, but in The Erotic Light we see just how far he's willing to go. But while one man is willing to go to extreme lengths to keep Lydia p ...more

Book two. Lydia has accepted and has grown to enjoy her role in the house. She has worked out what each guy likes and has mastered it. I thoroughly loved the first book, Erotic Dark. I struggled with it because humiliation is something that's not really my thing but I get how it is for many others. Book 2 is more of that and we finally got to truly see the depths of depravity in Preston. We also got to see (finally) something more than spoiled selfish Jane (Lydia). While I hated how Preston was able to manipulate her, it was good to see her finally start to fight back. Even more to see her make decisions that were about others, ...more

A story about a girl who tarnished her father's name and did something she shouldn't have done. And finding protection from someone she wouldn't expect she should turn to.Meeting two more other occupants who also sought out the man she turned to for protection. She enjoyed her stay in the plantation but she was soon taken away from her safe haven.

I love how the story ended but I'm wondering what happened to Kruin?
I hope to read more of your stories!

Go Through The Dark, To Find The Light

This series was definitely worth the read. The primary characters were all so fully developed that their thoughts and emotions progressed perfectly in sync with the story. I was truly sad that it had to end. One note of caution, the sex scenes are frequent and explicit and include some more violent acts. So, if that's not your preference, you probably won't appreciate this book.
