Working in an assisted living facility myself "life and Death in Assisted Living", left me disgusted and angry.
It is truly sorry that some Assisted Living Facilities are allowed to be corporations with stock options. Emeritus was not a health care facility, but just a company to make a buck, no matter the cost. Emeritus is just a real estate industry. They knew they were not qualified nor had the staff needed to give proper care for some of their residents. These people needed to be moved into

Having had a grandmother living in Assisted Living with Alzheimers, this book caught my eye when I saw it on Kindle Singles. It is sad to find out that "Emeritus" was so grossly negligent

Propublica generates lushly detailed and haunting work on a pretty regular basis. The only reason their targets of investigation still stay in business is the simple fact that a terribly small amount of printed matter ever gets read.
