God I hate cowards in books. I just want to rip my hair out. I want to quit this series so bad. I am driving myself and my poor husband (who has to hear me bitch none stop) crazy.

Every year around the same time Ms Mallery publishes three stories in which we get to visit Fool’s Gold. It’s like going away on holiday to the same place every year for a visit and catch up with people who have become friends, to find out what their has happened in the last year and how things have changed.

In this we get to read Angel and Taryn’s story. Angel had admired Taryn from afar for a while and finally decided the time was right to let her know he was interested in her, Taryn was more

So I feel like to do a rant review what perfect book than this? THIS BOOK SUCKED

I admit I have a fault in this unfortunate reunion, I mean this is the 13th book in a series, yet in my defense is fluffy romance and they are supposed to be standalone. But from the moment I started I was so lost, couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. SO I was 9% into the book and the pull shit against the lgbtqia+ community, no thank you, they thought a person falling fo

Can I just move to Fools Gold now? Please??! Lordy but Mallery can weave together a wonderful romance that leaves a girl wistful and completely sated. *nods* And When We Met was no exception as girly, yet tough as nails, Taryn and the oh so sexy Angel take each other on and find true love. *swoons*

So the gist is that Taryn and Angel are both pretty new to the town and, well, neither's really looking for love--they're just trying to adjust and build their new lives-- but there's an attraction bet

In When We Met, readers once again get to witness Susan Mallery work her magic on another implausible couple. Angel Whittaker and Taryn Crawford are opposites in every way. It was crazy fun watching these two weave a path toward their HEA. Strong characters, sarcastic dialogue, flawless writing, and a clever seduction plan takes Fool’s Gold in a new direction.

I felt the story had a small blemish. Taryn Crawford’s character is incredible. While I understand her wardrobe was a critical component

Book 13 is about former special ops soldier and now bodyguard-school employee Angel and about one of the 4 partners of the town's new Sports-Agency - SCORE: Taryn.

They start their courtship right on the first page! ☺
Angel approaches Taryn in the café and basically tells her that they're 'inevitable' - they will be having a fling. They have been noticing each other across town since they both arrived last year.
They both don't have time for anything serious. Well, they don't have the time and they

Another really fun trip to Fool's Gold. This time we see Angel and Taryn, both of whom are fairly new to town. Angel and his friends have set up at bodyguard school in Fool's Gold and Taryn and her friends own a PR firm. Neither one is looking for anything permanent, but the chemistry between them has them willing to explore a little.

I loved both these characters. I've been waiting for Angel's story for awhile. I really loved getting more of his back story. Angel grew up in a small coal mining t

I do love this series but this book is not going to be one of my favorites. First, I just could not relate with Taryn. Yes, she had a hard childhood and she ran away at a young age and was able to "make something of herself". So what does she do with the money she now makes where she didn't have before? Clothes and shoes. She spends upwards of a thousand dollars for an outfit? She thinks since she didn't have money before that she should show how well she is doing by wearing expensive clothes an ...more

This book drained me for some reason, yet I enjoyed the overall story. I loved the opening when Angel and Taryn begin their game. They’ve watched each other and now they are making their move.

***Details***
I’m not completely sure how well I liked Taryn. I didn’t care much for her fashion sense, but I loved the way she was with her ‘guys’. I really wish more would have been fleshed out about her past. Perhaps see her get involved in helping young girls who may be in a similar situation to what sh

This is the 13th book in the Fool's Gold series and it featured Angel and Taryn. This book definitely started off with a bang with Angel declaring to Taryn that their relationship would be progressing soon. Taryn is dumbfounded that Angel could be so bold and just flat out tell her they are going to end up in bed together. With their relationship starting so intense, I was amazed at how the two teased eachother and circled around eachother for part of the book. These two might be my favorite cou ...more

It never ceases to amaze me that we are now 13 deep into the Fool's Gold series and I'm still devouring every book. Over the last half of this series Ms. Mallery has been expanding this quaint small town, while keeping intact its charm and endearing qualities. Let me just say, I have thoroughly enjoyed the fresh meat that has come along with the growth of this town. Football players, yes please! Back on track, When We Met follows in line with the free spirited nature of the previous books. The h ...more

They were a couple of broken souls.
A man who had loved and lost and a woman who didn't believe in romantic love at all.

Angel and Taryn have noticed each other since they moved to Fool's Gold...so when Angel approaches Taryn at the coffee shop and says they're inevitable she (and we) believe him!
And so the wooing and courtship begins, Angel is a patient man (i think he is more like a tease) and he knows exactly what he wants and he is willing to wait for it. And Taryn? Used

It's that time of year again! Fools Gold, California time! This year we start the summer trilogy with a romance between Angel--the deadly ex sniper with the tragic loss of a wife and son in his past, and Taryn, the fashionista who runs Fools Gold's newest business, a PR firm named Score. Like other tales from California's formerly female dominated town, the story of Taryn and Angel's HEA is filled with glimpses of the other pairs who will hook up in the other two books in this summer's trilogy. ...more

Loved this visit to Fool's Gold! Susan Mallery gives us the story of Taryn and Angel. Taryn operates the Score which is a PR firm. Angel is a former military special ops man. Both have interesting back stories and I found their budding romance to be believable as they fell in love while working together to help the kids. I did not like the name of the kids group.... but if I want to name it myself, then I need to be an author. LOL. I will let you read the book, you will enjoy it..and then you ca ...more

When you visit Fool's Gold, you never know who you are going to meet and fall in love with.. After all Fool's Gold is the place where happy ending are made.

For Taryn and Angel, they are not looking for love, but it finds them in a sizzling love affair, and 8 little girls who make find a hero in the leader of the pack... I liked the characters but the story was exactly the same as all the others in this series and it's getting boring. How is it that Susan Mallery creates these fantastic 5-star characters but follows the same stupid script every time? It's tragic.

Taryn Crawford is the creative center and head of Score, the public relations firm that has recently relocated to Fool’s Gold, California, from Los Angeles. Taryn has come a long way from her painful childhood. She is smart, tough, ambitious, and the best at what she does. She is also the owner of a wardrobe that would make Sarah Jessica Parker envious, and she has found a family in her partners in Score, three former professional football players known collectively to Taryn as “the boys”: Jack ...more

This is my first time visiting Fool’s Gold outside the Christmas season. Which doesn’t mean nothing is happening in town because, as the protagonist mentions at a certain point in the story, there’s always something happening/being celebrated in that town.

Every year the author starts a sort of series inside the series, meaning she introduces a new set of characters that are going to be the protagonists of the books being publi

I’m such a sucker for the Fool’s Gold series, so these are on my auto-request, auto-buy, auto-everything list.

Angel hasn’t had an easy go of it. He lost his family while serving in the military, and although he’s got his life on track and friends who love him, he isn’t willing to open himself up to love anytime soon. His work at the bodyguard training school is enough to keep him mostly happy, but spending time with Taryn is

Why I Read this Book: When We Met was an auto-read for me because I love this small town romance series. And I’ve been waiting for Angel’s story.

What I Liked: Wow, does Angel have a story to tell! There are some very dark clouds in Angel’s past, some of which brought me to tears. And the way Taryn responded to Angel’s past, and how he handles it in present day, really illustrates what a great person she is. We also find out about Taryn’s own dark past and
