This is the most PERFECT summer read EVER. I completely devoured it. There is no way that I'm ready to say goodbye to Tess Brookes and her friends yet. There needs to be more of this series. Please tell me there's going to be more Tess?! What a Girl Wants was the perfect read after Mental Health Awareness Month. It was light, fluffy, full of laugh out loud and cringeworthy moments - I really can't get enough of this world

It's been a while since I read "About a Girl" but I reconnected with Tess quickly.

Now she has to face the hardest decision - the life she always dreamed of versus the future she never thought possible.
Her best friend Charlie wants her to move in with him and open their own advertising agency together. After she loved him for over a decade, he finally sees how good they are together.
As much as she loves advertising and Charlie, just now she met a man, she can't stop thinking about and rediscov

Boo-hoo! I was so excited about reading the sequel of About a Girl, but it was such a disappointment.
The short answer is that the end made me so mad I was sorry I didn't have a paperback that I could throw at the wall as you can't really do it with a Kindle... here's why

Lindsey Kelk is back with another blockbuster summer read, What A Girl Wants, which is the highly anticipated sequel to her new series, About A Girl. I’ve loved every single one of Lindsey’s books and I was hugely excited for What A Girl Wants!

What A Girl Wants continues where the previous book left off, where Tess arrives back in London after all the drama in Hawaii. Right away, I was hooked and I found it really hard to stop reading it. It was so good to read ab

Tess had always played it safe but was she really happy? Does happiness have anything to do with your future? During a trip to Milan with best friend, Amy, Tess starts to re-evaluate her life and her plans. Should she take the safe option or live with uncertainty and be truly happy. Her friend, Amy, was taking every chance she got and running with it.

What a Girl Wants is the sequel to About a Girl and follows on from Tess’s time in Hawaii. Even though I hadn’t read the first book I didn’t feel l

Worst than the first, the fact that it takes her forever to make a decision is sooo iritating and again more whiny, eternal dialogue about boring stuff and not enough about what actually matters. And the ending is really frustrating, if I had known that the ending was so crap, I wouldn't have bothered to read it at all. I love Lindsey's writing style, but she should seriously either choose to write a book about grown ups in grown up style or teenagers in a teenage love story, because you cant do ...more

I can't even explain how much I love Lindsey Kelk and this book.
Tess is absolutely hilarious. It's shocking how someone so intelligent can be so clueless sometimes. But that is exactly why I love her. Her mistakes and her indecisiveness is what makes her so relatable and easy to like. As much as I knew everything was going to blow up in her face with Charlie and Nick I could totally understand all her actions. Tess isn't perfect but I love her.
Now onto the boys. In the first book I was completel

I finished this book in 1 day, what is life!?
Tess really bugged me throughout the entire book. Make a decision, stop being so whiney. After about 180 or so pages Nick is finally back on the scene and oh my heart swoons for him. And then that ending!! Did Nick see her at the airport getting arrested and just ignore it? Thank god she went back to Milan because seriously? It’s bloody Milan!
Jules (Never enough time to read)

It was good. At points I didn't always love Tess and I think far too many things in her life simply fall into her lap too easily, but I love Lindsey Kelk's writing style.

Definitely and enjoyable chick lit.

Not so secret confession: I bloody love Lindsey Kelk! Almost as much as Ryan Gosling without his shirt on. Almost. Her books are so fresh and relatable to a single girl living in a big city and juggling a career while trying to find the dateable needle in the haystack of wholly unsuitable men. And Lindsey's hilarious writing style and unique turn of phrase has made me spit out my drink on more than one occasion. I also learn a wealth of snort-out-loud funn

You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this book! I squealed and did a happy dance all around the house. I literally couldn’t wait to be back in Tess’ adventure land.

Tess had a big decision to make: stay in London and open an advertising agency with her best friend/love of her life Charlie or go to Milan and pursue her dreams as a photographer. And there was also Nick (she met him in Hawaii) and well let’s say they started a thing, but now he wouldn’t answer his phone.

So as you see ther
I couldn't wait for this to come out because I loved About A Girl so much, and it was a very enjoyable read. But maybe only 3.5 stars. Or maybe 4. I can't decide....

This book takes Tess away to Italy for a photography assignment (a kind of flimsy one at that, but hey this is fantasy stuff, so whatever) and this time her best friend Amy comes along for the ride (with another ridiculous excuse, but never mind) and Tess is once again torn between her university-days crush (Charlie) and her recent s

Having read About a Girl, I was anxious to get into What a Girl Wants. Would Tess pick Charlie or Nick? Would she opt for advertising or photography? I couldn't wait to find out.

Let me start out by saying that I loved the over the top humour in the first book and was looking forward to more of the same in thi

From the prologue and opening chapter I thought I’d picked up a winner. Best friends in jail together in Milan in formal dresses, breaking into your own flat and hiding under your bed because you’re afraid to face your flatmate and getting arrested as you fall out of your bedroom window to escape said flatmate. This was a promising start, this I could see on the big screen with Kristen Wiig.

And then it went downhill.

The main character is pathetic to the point of annoyance rather than affection.

After being thrown out of her flat she shared with Vanessa and getting arrested because of Vanessa, Charlie, Amy and Nick get her out of there despite Charlie cheating on her with Vanessa for a while!

Unfortunately after getting through the photo shoot and fashion show with her friends and team by her side Nick disappears and their relationship undiscussed just a not

Fuck me, Tess. 3.5 stars for a bittersweet but thoroughly enjoyable romp. So many zingers that this book is ALL dog-eared bookmarks now. Amy and I were meant to be besties, if just for her choice of fave LI-O-NEL songs. And Tess for her love of the Little Mermaid <3

Love that Tess is getting her own back, and growing bolder though maybe not wiser. But honey, you deserve some time to yourself, to figure out what you want, (and not what your miserable fuckwit of a mother wants). Just don't stop sha

Featuring the wonderful Tess Brookes, who you will love, she is a very easy character to get along with she is very likable.
