It's time for the girls-only annual getaway, and the ladies are looking forward to a fun-filled, relaxing trip -- with good food, drinks, shopping, and lots of late-night conversation. But DeMaris wants to shake things up a bit. She informs her friends that she would like them to assume new identities. For the entire time they're together, they can be anybody they like. What can possibly go wrong?
DeMaris. Just having her along is a recipe for disaster, meaning it's another vacation that lands the girls exactly where they don't want to be . . . in trouble once again.
J. R. Armstrong was born and raised in Michigan. She found her passion for writing in the 5th grade. After graduating from Olivet College she got married and lived with her husband in various cities around the United States, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic as he was an athletic trainer in baseball. They have settled back in Michigan where J. R. continues to write.
I was immediately drawn into the novel by the intricacies of these sorority sisters’ lifelong friendships and the quirkiness of the main character DeMarias. I found many parts of this book hilarious and actually LAUGHED OUT LOUD while at other times I would be very upset with the characters and have to put my book down and cool off a bit.
I was intrigued by the mystery at the heart of this novel. I enjoyed how the mystery was presented one scene at a time and couldn’t wait to see how JR Armstrong would solve this unexplained mystery. I was not disappointed!
This is a well thought out multi-faceted novel that I literally could not put down. To understand the significance of Armstrong’s unusual title you have to read the novel; by understanding the title, I feel privileged to insider knowledge. I highly recommend “Beg(ga)(he)r” for anyone looking for something ‘different’ to read.
I thoroughly love that I know this author and look forward to every book she writes. Beg(ga)(he)r is fast-moving and always heading in an unexpected direction.
