"Choose Good Food!" is a picture book that talks about eating healthy and choosing good food to eat. The little boy and his father go to the grocery store and pick out healthy foods for him to pack for lunch. While they walk through the grocery store, the little boy explains the five food groups, what types of food are in each of the food groups, and what each food group does for our bodies.
This is a picture book because the pictures in the book tell the story and provide an illustrated example of what the words are saying on each page.
This book would be an awesome book to include in health education for young students to teach them how to choose healthy foods to eat. The book teaches the students about the five different healthy food groups and why having a healthy diet is essential for a growing young body.
The reading level for "Choose Good Food!" is 2.6, so a second grader in the sixth month should be able to read this book independently.

I loved how this book made mention to picky eaters and how the father took his son to the grocery store with him to pick out healthy food options for lunch. This book was very informative for a child to understand the five food groups. I really liked how many examples were given in the book for healthy food choices. I also liked how the book explained why certain foods were important for your body like nutrients, minerals, and protein.

Told in narrative style, this nonfiction book has great factual captions on each page layout. I like the suggestions/instructions at the back for making an energy lunch. The glossary, extra resources, and index are all inclusive of this 24-page quickie. With nice illustrations, this would be great for a story time read aloud.

I thought his book was really good for a young elementary health lesson. This book shows the importance of eating healthy even though it may not taste the best.
