The Indigo Bunting is an amazing book that I couldn't put down. The story revolves around Harper Lexington struggling with the death of her fiancee. The Indigo Bunting is a love story, with a paranormal twist. Mrs. Marissa's writing is unique, elegant, and wonderful.

The Indigo Bunting is a story that takes the reader to a whole other world. The writing is glorious, as well as all the characters introduced. The ending was VERY shocking and so unexpected (I had to re read it at least five times).

I just finished reading this beautiful book and I don't think I'll be able to sleep! I read it in one day. From the very beginning I felt pulled into the story by the writing. For lack of a better word, I thought the writing was elegant. It had just the right amount of descriptive language to paint a realistic picture in your mind without seeming at all forced or overdone. I enjoyed the characters and the story and really look forward to more by this author. So happy to have received this as a g ...more

The Indigo Bunting is a beautiful, heartbreaking story about Harper, a young woman who finds herself completely lost after a tragedy. This would have been a regular story about love and loss, but the author took a unique twist and added a ghostly element that is both haunting and comforting. The characters are well developed and I cared for them deeply, always wanting Harper to find her happiness. This novel is filled with emotion and touches on some deep topics. A great read!

*I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.*

How can one move on after losing the love of their life? Is it possible to live again and be happy when the person one is missing is gone forever?

The Indigo Bunting is an emotional, heartbreaking story about Harper's struggle to live life again after the death of her fiancé, Jack. It's a love story with a paranormal twist. It somewhat (not really) reminded me of the movie Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swazye. And at first, I wanted to s

Harper is still grieving for her fiance, Jack, who accidentally killed himself and a little boy while driving drunk, and her life seems to be on perpetual hold. When she meets someone new and begins to feel she could start over, she begins to see Jack's ghost. And Jack has a new friend, too. So much potential with this story, but overall, for my tastes it was way too sentimental and not really suspenseful. I was also disappointed because I thought the main character was a birdwatcher (the summar ...more

Hmmm, I really had loved the "idea" of this book. Reminded me of Demi Moore & Patrick in ghost Too many times it just got a little to quirky for me and ruined it. I HATE HATE HATE the ending. I won't give it away but even if we're not going to change the ending it still could have been done better

This book reminded me why I tend to avoid the romance genre. I gave it a go due to the paranormal angle, but it was, frankly, pedestrian. I expected chills, a sense of the unknown, and a little heartwarming but got another dose of 'females behaving erratically'. A disappointment. Rating: 2 stars.
