This was my first paperback romance novel, the only reason for me reading it was for a book club, and I don't think it's really my genre...A wealthy Philadelphia widow, Emma Wadsworth, was abused by her deceased husband and meets a philandering guy who is 'incredibly handsome,' they fall in love almost at first sight and both manage to change each others' worlds: Emma overcomes her guilt about her dead husband and learns to trust a man, and Logan finally settles down with one woman, the first ...more

Basically well-written with interesting and thoroughly-drawn characters. There were quite a few typographical errors and a very few grammatical errors; but the plot progressed smoothly and logically. I might read more books by this author.

This book pleasantly surprised me. I thought this book was going to be a simple romance, but it had quite a good mystery wrapped up in it as well as the romance. I enjoyed the plot twists and the mystery. The characters were easy to relate too and feel for. The relationships portrayed were intriguing and on occasion surprising. I liked how strong Emma was, and how Logan met his match with her. The ending of the story had all the elements I love in a good ending: happiness, hope, and a few tears.

I couldn't finish this book because I didn't understand the main character Emma. I mean the abusive husband died months ago and she is still sticking to some archaic mourning period before she moves on with her life. She is even waiting to change the furniture, that was described as bordello-esq. Moreover, that furniture was picked out by one of hubby's mistresses. She was not left with millions of dollars, SHE WAS LEFT WITH BILLIONS of dollars.

I liked it! There were some really amazing parts and when you reach about the middle of the book you won't be able to put it down!! But nearing the end it got a bit dry, and I just felt like it was just dragging on, and a bit predictable but it was still a great read!

The characters were too old for my liking, but that I could change in my mind. Pretty steamy at times, but other than that very cliche. Too cliche.
