He swore to end her.

All Magnus had to do was pick up a package and get his brother’s child back. A simple task that any Caster worth his salt could have done in his sleep, except nothing had been that simple for him in years.

For centuries, Magnus relished in the slaughter and annihilation of the demon race. Ridding the world — and hell — of every last one was an oath he wa

So where do I begin? Well, I'm sure we all know Airicka is a master at the feels thing. I became a fan of her with the Son's of Judgement Series. Octavian's Undoing just sold me. Since then, I have literally read anything and everything she has ever released...and I'm lucky to get to read things prior to release as well.

Magnus' Defeat was no different for me. It sucked me in and spit me back out. There were moments when I was holding my breath, moment's where I could literally feel my heart jus
First of all, if you haven't read Octavian's Undoing or Gideon's Promise, you need to do it now!!!

For those of us who have read Sons of Judgement 1 & 2, I personally have loved Magnus from the start. So for him to have his story told....I couldn't wait. Magnus is quiet, reserved, and the one who doesn't take s**t from anyone. In this installment of the Sons of Judgement series, we get to know Magnus on a whole new level. Getting an inside glimpse into that head of his, you finally get to se

I hate cliffhangers! I especially hate cliffhangers when the life of a favorite character is held in the balance....or should I say in the mind of a mean author? lol

Ok, this story was about Magnus and Zara. Magnus is the twin of Gideon and Zara, as we later learn, is the special cargo he has been commissioned to retrieve by and for Baron. Baron is the head demon honcho. When things get out of control, it is revealed that Zara is their secret cargo. She has been shackled like an animal t

So there was one moment that really pulled me out of the book and had me scratching my head (view spoiler)

Also Zara and Magnus' continuous back and forth between accepting what is between them and fighting it was annoying. Though I love that they weren't just going along with the destined soulmate thing, an acceptance of slow degrees

I can't believe how much I loved this book! I remember being at around 30% and thinking 'how can there still be more stuff happening?' so much crazy stuff had already happened at that point! And the best part don't see most of it coming! I'm kinda sleep deprived now because I just couldn't stop reading, there was just too much going on and the suspense would have killed me.

Magnus and Zara are both amazing and very strong characters. I loved that their love story took its time and didn't

Wow! I knew, after reading the 2 previous books of this series, that this book would be amazing. It's packed full of humor and action right from the beginning to the end. Most nights I found myself reading into the morning hours because I couldn't put his book down! If I had to pick a Maxwell brother Magnus would have my whole heart. He's sarcastic, he's unwaveringly loyal, he's got a soft gooey heart under all the hardness of his exterior. This book is a roller coaster ride that you will never ...more

I adore the Maxwell brothers. If you've read the first books in the Sons of a Judgment series, I'm sure you completely understand. The Maxwells are sexy, fierce, and loyal.

When reading the previous books, Magnus was not a character I had particular feelings about either way. After reading Magnus's Defeat, I must say my thoughts have completely changed. There is an intense complexity to Magnus. His character draws you into his life in a way that is very hard to achieve with mere paper and pen. Th

Holy cow!!! What a rush!!! OMG, I have never cried so much in this series as I did this particular story!! I am shocked, stunned, and completely at awe with this story. This author knows how to rip out your heart and then temporarily mend it back together, just to do it again.

The characters were phenomenal. I always love how the author brings them to life in each story.

The story-line was addicting, though parts of this story made me

SOJ Just keeps getting better

There are a few choice words I would love to say to Airicka, but I know there is a reason for her actions lol I actually cried a few times and I don't cry. From the beginning there was suspense and action that had me not wanting to put the book down. I love the whole world that Airicka creates in The Sons of Judgment series, its very different from other books. Of course all the Maxwells are in it with their mates and the plot just keeps getting juicier, their was a

If you ask me who's my favorite Maxwell brother, I have to say Magnus. He's fearless, loves his family with all his being and his loyalty to them has no end.

As I was reading page after page, my heart beat fast, hurt, love, then I smiled, shed a tear or two. But at the end this book will show you how close, loyal and fearless the Maxwell's are.

For me so far this book is the best by far. Now I can't wait to see how this series end. If you are not familiar with the Maxwells then you must read thei

Zara tries to keep Magnus in line, “that wasn’t very nice,” Zara scolded him. “Be encouraging.” Magnus is sensitive about some things, "face still obscured, Magnus pivoted on one heel to face her. “Don’t change the subject and don’t objectify him. He’s very sensitive.” His mouth twitched in a badly suppressed grin when she burst out laughing. “It’s bad enough you’re ogling him like some piece of meat.” He jabbed a finger at her. “Respect, woman. Respect.” Holey moley, the twists and turns, my he ...more

Omg omg omg this is such a phenomenal read. Seriously Magnus is my favourite now, he is so protective of his family no matter what may come. Zara Zara Zara what can I say about her, she is nothing like you would expect her to be. Talk about twists, there is a million in here and all very unexpected. Be prepared to be excited, sad, happy and jealous all at the same time. Airicka has done it once again, all I can say is I can't wait for Reggie's book. This book will definitely keep you up at night ...more

well, she's done it again. Magnus and Zara had me as hooked as Riley and Octavian did in the very beginning. this book was heart breaking and thrilling and left me salivating for the next one. there really are no words good enough to describe the roller coaster ride that this book was, it had me biting my nails in anticipation of what was going to happen next. miss Phoenix has managed to, once again, suck me in and leave me begging for more. job well done.

This book was so worth the wait!! I'm not going to lie I was not a huge Magnus fan in the beginning, but now Wow he maybe my favourite! This book is filled with so much emotion I could not put it down. I love the way this author describes everything and makes you feel like you are there watching everything happen. I can not wait for more from this author.

Best one of the series, by far. Non-stop action. In parts, it was a bit all over the place because there was so much happening. However, I really enjoyed the book. Looking forward to the last one in the series!

I feel sick. This book was so good but it hurt so much.

I adore all of these characters. I can never get enough, I'm always disappointed when I reach the end of these books because I just want to keep reading them forever.
This book was fantastic. It took a very long time to be release on Kindle but it was definitely worth the wait. For me, Magnus's Defeat was an emotional rollercoaster ride and hard to put down. I highly recommend the Sons of Judgement series, you won't be disappointed.

I've been a huge fan of The Sons Of Judgment Series since book one. My grabby hands were out as soon as I was offered to beta read Magnus's Defeat. This novel did not disappoint. My head was spinning multiple times throughout reading this book. Airicka Pheonix has put a whole new meaning on the word twist! I feel like I have whiplash after reading Magnus's Defeat. You're in for one crazy, suspense-filled, intense, hot, paranormal read. This is one book you will not be able to put down.

A lot happens in this book that it was hard to put down. It's even harder to write this because I really don't want to spoil anything of what happens in the book, especially the parts near the end!

Let me start off by saying that I loved the couple this time. Magnus and Zara were awesome, they each had a unique voice like the other characters did in the first books, and it was very interesting to finally get a look into Magnus's head, especially since he was the Maxwell brother that I was most i

I love these books, and the world Airicka has created. And finally the wait is over. Book 3 has been worth the wait! I loved learning about Magnus and delving deep inside his mind - quiet literally as you will find out when you read this. I also loved the supporting characters like Zara.
I loved the part in the beginning where they travelled to the isle of Cree - a version of Hell. The imagery is very vivid and everything is described so beautifully.
