Legendary Logic Puzzles

Rate this book
Its big. Its challenging. Its mind-bending fun! This enormous collection (400 pages!) of logic puzzles will keep super solvers occupied for hours. Thats because each conundrum is a legend in its own time, perfectly constructed to perplex and mystify. Some are stories that provide only slight information to guide you; others resemble a poker game, played in settings ranging from Vegas to Monte Carlo. Still more mislead you with false statements. Theyre entertaining and a great way to develop your powers of deduction and reasoning!

I did about 2/3 of the puzzles before giving up on this book, which is broken into four parts: Part 1 puzzles are more math than logic and resemble middle-grade homework problems. Part 2 has some good traditional grid logic puzzles, but a few of the grids aren't structured correctly for solving, the clues occasionally give too little or too much information, and several puzzles can't be solved without knowing the rules of poker. Part 3 puzzles require solvers to figure out who's lying and who isn't, which isn't a type of puzzle I enjoy, so I skipped most of it, and Part 4 includes several types of puzzles, including at least a one that can't be solved because of contradictory information and at least one that has a possible solution different from the answer in the back. (I only did about ten of those puzzles before quitting the book, so there may be more issues there.)
