I'm always up for a good highlander romance, and Bound by Wish and Mistletoe fit that bill perfectly. A bit of excitement, a feisty young woman trying to claim her independence, and of course our highlander-the commander in his clan-that will absolutely make you swoon with the respect and reverence he shows for our heroine.

Susanna's character is brave and spirited, escaping from a life that was about to become even more restricted than she'd already experienced. Robert is strong, a highly skille

This novella is an entertaining and quick read. It has all the elements that I could possibly want in even a full length book. I love Scotland any time of the year, but place me in Scotland during the Christmas season then you have definitely caught my attention! The story opens with Robert, Duncan, and Seamus hunting for a Christmas tree for Isobel and coming across a surprise intruder, Susanna MacEalan . Susanna is running from her clan and is determined to be in control of her own life and ho ...more

I think the best part of this book was the fact that it really made me want to read the FIRST one in the series! This was great, but left me with question regarding the "magick" and the guy with WINGS, and just HOW that castle moved!

Yes, I enjoyed this a lot.

There was an instant attraction between Susanna and Robert, an attraction that they acted upon quickly. I don't have a problem with that when it's in this time frame. That's pretty much how things happened way back when. I was a little surpr

I’d like to start my review by saying that I read Bound by Wish and Mistletoe when it first released and I loved it. I’ve been quite busy reading so many books that I felt that I had to reread this book in order to write my personal review. Now, rereading a book is like watching a movie for the second time. You always catch things you may have missed the first time. I can honestly say that I am really glad that I reread it because my journey into the Highlands was so much better this time around ...more

Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is #1.5 in Kat Bastion’s Highland Legend Series. I read and reviewed the first book, Forged in Dreams and Magick a while ago,and it tore me apart, put me back again, just to toss me in another direction next. I loved Forged in Dreams and Magick. So, I was a bit nervous about starting to read Bound by Wish and Mistletoe – would it be just as good, or was the first book a once in a lifetime? As we all knows, it does happen. What we read, and how we perceive the books al ...more

Bound by Wish and Mistletoe by Kat Bastion follows the fabulous Forged in Dreams and Magick. I was drawn back into Kat’s gorgeous Highland world from the very first pages and was so happy with this novella and being able to have another taste of the Brodie Clan.

Susanna MacEalan is in the midst of a desperate escape from her horrid clan and her father. She refuses to live another minute with the barbaric and ignorant p

Most of the time I love having a TBR list; I always know once I finish a book there is a pile of titles I am excited about just waiting for me to dive into. And then I come across a read like Bound by Wish and Mistletoe and am thoroughly pissed that I have a TBR list because it means I can’t immediately read the other book(s) related to the book I just finished  (BTW: the TBR list certainly didn’t sto

General: If you’re looking for something with magic, sexy highlanders and a very different take on Christmas in a novel look no further. Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is an engaging book from cover to cover. Kat Bastion does a fantastic job transporting you back to ancient Scotland. Book Review- Bound by Wish and Mistletoe by Kat Bastion

In this novella, it is Christmas time at the castle Brodie when we revisit Isobel, Iain, and the Brodie clan. Isobel has sent Robert, the commander of the guards, to cut down the tree she scouted earlier. She is determined to have a Christmas celebration for the clan and wants the best tree she can find. Robert and two of his clansmen have traveled to the edges of Brodie land to fetch the tree that Lady Isobel wants.

E-Book sent by author for review purposes. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinion offered herein is my own except as noted.

I read the first novel in this series in the late summer and I liked Kat’s voice. The first novel in the series was FORGED IN DREAMS AND MAGICK and it was a time travel, paranormal romance. The voice was fresh and new, and she continues that freshness here with almost no par

Kat has done it again! Yep, she created another Highlander that I just want more of. Robert Brodie is no Iain or Velloc, but lordy he's all alpha male and very swoony. Any gal reading Bastion's books will get her book boyfriend quota filled with this holiday novella.

Robert Brodie is the commander of Brodie guard and out on a special mission from Isa Brodie: in search of a christmas tree even though he and his men have no idea what this strange custom is for. They soon stumble upon a woman alone

Bound by Wish and Mistletoe. A Highland Legends Novella. Kat Bastion.
I recently read Forged in Dreams and Magick and loved it so jumped at the chance to review this novella. Its starts with Robert and a couple of other clansmen from the Brodie clan cutting down a Christmas tree. They hear something approaching in the snowy landscape and quickly capture Susanna. Not knowing who she is, if she's friend or foe, Robert decides they need to keep her with them, she's determined to escape at the first

If you haven’t read the first book, Forged in Dreams and Magick, you wouldn’t be at a total loss if you just jumped stright into the second one. There are a couple of moments at the end of book 2 that would be more understood if you did read the first book. Not to mention you get to meet Iain in book 1. Laird of the castle…. This is the 1st book I've read by Kat Bastion and it won't be the last. The story had me hooked from the 1st few sentences and held my attention until I finished it. This was a fresh and lovely story set in my favorite locale, the mystic Scottish Highlands, with just the right touch of paranormal.

Susanna and Robert were the heroine and hero in Bound by Wish and Mistletoe. The story is set in the 13th century as Christmas is drawing near....

I was given the option to review Book 1 for this tour as well but could just not fit it into my schedule. Now, after reading this Novella, I really need to read this series!

There were times when the references to book 1 were lost on me, but nothing that took away from the story. I filled in the gaps pretty quickly. Kat creates wonderful, lovable a

***WARNING - This is a novella. It is meant to be read as part of the series. If you have not read it, you will be able to read the novella but not understand what the characters have gone through.

Welcome back to Brodie Castle. Out the cut down the perfect tree for Lady Isobel's Christmas celebration, Robert quite literally is almost barreled over by someone on a horse wearing a hood. His men and him are ready to strike. Imagine his surprise when he lowers the cloak and discovers it's a woman. H
I had a difficult time rating this novella, due to the fact that I loved the previous book so much. But, for me, Bound by Wish and Mistletoe was a bit of a let down after the amazing roller-coaster ride that was book 1.

Don't get me wrong---I liked this novella. However, I did not fall in love with it, and found a few things that kept me from giving this one a top rating. The romance was very rushed, and I had a hard time believing in it. Also, Susana had such a horrible upbringing, and beca

Susanna MacEalan and Robert Brodie have a slight problem. Both are attracted to each other from the moment Susanna almost runs Robert and his horse down. Susanna has sworn off men forever, after escaping from her abusive father, the man he sold her to, and the rest of her abusive clan. Robert, on the other hand, commander of his clan’s guard, has sworn off women who plot to entrap him forever. As each falls deeper and deeper in love with the other, they dance around the concept of being together ...more

(I received a copy of the book from NetGalley for a fair and honest review.) Four swords up for Kat Bastion's holiday novella, Bound by Wish and Mistletoe. I love time travel romance novels - and if they're set in Scotland - wow! Kilts, sassy 20th Century heroines (or heroes) who travel forward or backward in time. So I was sold on Kat Bastion's first novel, Forged in Dreams and Magick, from her Highland Legends series the moment I saw the description. Then I have to say that mid-way through the ...more

Originally given 3.5 hearts at Rookie Romance.

This is a very sweet, Christmas novella about learning to trust and finding Christmas!

Susanna is very guarded, after a cruel and cold upbringing. The only source of comfort she's had in her life was her mother, who taught her that men are hateful and merciless creatures. So, imagine Susanna's surprise when she meets the compassionate and kind Robert, even if he looks as fearsome as any other warrior. I loved her determination and cour

Alright ladies, did you get everything on your list to Santa? Well, even if you did, go add a bonus gift to your pile from yourself and pick up this book (and the first book in the series!) When I think of all the talented writers throughout the years in the romance genre beginning with V.C. Wow... with tears in my eyes and an ache in my chest I have just finished reading an exceptional love story by the incredible Author Kat Bastion.

It was another enjoyable read for me! This is my first time traveling/highland books I've read, so I've been a fan from the beginning.

I must say, the storyline was pretty simple and to the point, and being a novella, the story went pretty quickly. It went a little bit too quickly, but it didn't change my opinion much at all.

Susanna lived a very rough life, where it made her have a very strong mistrust for all men. Because of her upbringing, a caring man would always be a bastard in her eyes. I d

This was a decent read for a Highland romance but it is sold as a time travel romance and it seems that the time travel occurred in a previous book. Susanna is a girl from thirteenth century Scotland and she is fleeing her father - a clan leader - when she rides straight into three warriors who are out felling a fir tree. They manage to stop her struggles and bring her back to their castle, where the laird and his lady Isobel look after the girl. Isobel is from our world and has notions about ho ...more

I quite liked this little novella, but not as much as it's predecessor, Forged in Dreams and Magick.

The love story between Susanna and Robert was well done, though the pace seemed little quick. However, I do understand since this is a novella, at only 160 pages. And let's face it, Bastion's writing alone captures you, as it does in book one, and once you're in the zone, it's pure entertainment. (Euphoria for a reader.)
