I got this book free from Kindle First Reads. This is my honest review.

This is my first Nancy Naigle book but it won't been my last. Generally, I'm not a big fan of romance books, but Naigle had just enough romance intertwined in this book to make her story even more interesting and intriguing. Also, this is not the first Adams Grove, Virginia Series book, but I did not find myself missing anything in my enjoyment of this book.

Two devastated souls cross paths in Adams Grove, and find that they

I need to wait until I get the first four in this series, It can be read as a stand alone I guess but I would like it better with the first four, I'm sure.

Characters are the most important part of any book for me, and that was a definite bonus with this book, because the plot was pretty implausible....
Love Brooke and Mike, love all their friends, love their pets, love the small town.... but it was slightly unbelievable that Brooke had both her ex-husband stalking her and the guy who had murdered Mike's wife also after her.... really I don't think Mike needed to play hero twice.... but these books are just so fun and easy to read you forgive everyt

Truly enjoyed this book. Just enough Romance to make it warm your heart. And suspense to keep you turning pages through the night. Easy to connect with main characters Brooke and Mike and feel with and for them. Love the twists and turns of the story and how the past always comes back.

I really enjoy this whole series and love how when you read a new book in the series it is like visiting old friends with updates for after their stories and extra glimpses of the past to understand the secondary c

2.5 stars.

Oh, Kindle First. The places you take me. I suppose, if you like bland and passive, this would entertain you. For me, it was just too simple, too cliched, too blah. It was paced nicely and the story construction was right on the mark, but everything else felt flat and generic. And what kind of murderer calls a Corvette "fancy-shmancy?" Like come on. No sex scenes, no swearing, no nothing. No bite. I can respect people who want to read "clean" romance and mystery, but this is my review

I got this book from the Kindle first program not expecting much but knowing that there was no way I could turn down a free book. It's been sitting in wait until I knew I'd have time to read some fluff when up at night with my newborn.

Fluff is a great word to describe this book which I don't consider a bad thing. It's a fairly cheesy story in the style of Nicholas Sparks but it's a cute story nonetheless. It was absolutely predictable at times and occasionally far fetched, and yet I enjoyed it

Not all free books are conjured up equally. However, the genre of books i trapieze through withKindle free books is amazing. unfortunately this happened to be one of those books i read drunk on the free-book-koolaide. Way to much obvious plot devices and way too many narrative holes, and the characters, oh the charscters. Do i dare point out the weirdly worded intimate moments? Suffice it to say this probably was the better free book offered by Amazon for the month of January 2014, it just happe ...more

Got this free on Kindle through Amazon Prime. It was terrible. Not even imaginatively or resoundingly terrible; just terrible. When you are more interested in eating airline peanuts then in whether your heroine gets offed by the resident serial killer, you're in trouble. Hero and heroine spend a lot of time riding around in cars "in comfortable silence" or "without much conversation" or "quietly for the next twenty minutes." Given that the exigencies of speech prove too much for our man, it's a ...more

The next installment in the Adams Grove series was great!! It had romance, suspense. I love when reading a book that i am thinking about what could be happening next. This was that book for me! I was so into the book that i was gasping and sighing right along with the story. You cant go wrong with this book.. if this is the first one you are reading in this series i know you will be getting the others to read also. Cannot wait for the next in the series to come out!

Time to backtrack! I usually don't read a series out of order, but this was a free kindle read and I jumped right in. I enjoyed the pace of the story as well as the small town setting. I sense that reading the series in order would give the characters more depth. a good choice for fans of suspense with a little romance.

Good,clean mystery

This is my first Nancy Naigle novel and was very pleased that it wasn't a lot of horror/blood and guts ---- just a very good story by a captivating author. Will definitely be reading more from Nancy.

Some of the novel was good, but often it just seemed to ramble around. I wasn't sure if it was a love story with a crazed killer on the loose, or a crime novel with people falling in love. Either way it just wasn't as engaging as a good love story or good crime novel should be.

Return to Adams Grove. This is the story of Brooke and Mike, both that need their hearts mended. A sweet romance that builds through out the story with an element of suspense that will keep you reading until finished. Hoping for more visits to Adams Grove.

Good book. Brooke has moved to Adams Grove to get away from her soon-to-be-ex-husband. He cheated on her but now claims to want her back. She has noticed some odd things going on at her house which make her think that he has found out where she is and has found a way into her house. When she comes home one day after work to find things moved around and her little dog trapped in her hot tub, she has had enough. Her complaints to the police have gone nowhere, so she hires a private investigator.

I never write reviews on Goodreads, but feel I must explain that I read this book because a. it was the best of the options of the free Amazon Prime pre-publication options in the January email, and b. I'm on vacation at the beach, and when else to see how romance novels have been coming along since, um, I was in 8th and 9th grade than at the beach?

Anyway, the answer to b is that they now incorporate stuff like divorce and second love and all that, but this book is still as cheesy as I remember

I have now read four of the five Adams Grove novels. The first one is the only one I have not read yet. This is one of my favorite series. The town, the people, and the stories always suck me in. Mint Juleps and Justice was a great addition to the series. I think Mike must be some kind of superhero. He has all of the qualities you expect in a superhero, strong, kind, determined, but he has his flaws. Brooke is the strong-willed female that makes a perfect match for him. Together, they make a ver ...more

I love Adams Grove, it always feels like home. This is the story of Brooke and Mike, two lovable characters who are both trying to move on with their lives. Brooke is going through a divorce that has gotten messy, and Mike lost his wife to a horrible tragedy. This book is loaded with love, romance and suspense. I loved Brooke, she is sexy, strong, and a firm believer in good luck charms. Mike is sexy, strong, and very protective of the people he cares about. If you love the Adams Grove Series, y ...more

Well, I liked many things about this story. I loved Mike and this small town, but I didn't care for the heroine at all. She was so off and on with Mike. If it were me I would have given up on her.

I did enjoy the suspense scenes and felt they were basically well-written. I do think this one needed some good editing. Ms. Nailed uses proper names a lot which keeps the writing from being deep POV. Also some of the scenes are a bit similar to other books in this series.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed this b

Judging by the average rating on Goodreads and Amazon, I'm in the minority, but the only good thing about this book for me was that it was free. Reading it was the equivalent of watching a train wreck that you can't look away from. The characters were one-dimensional and vapid. The story was … well, I was lead to believe from the description that there was a mystery and a love story and instead what I got was a big old mess of a story with little to no mystery and an utterly unbelievable love st ...more

I got this book on Kindle firsts.... I just wasn't very impressed. Lets just say the build up to the main event was decent but the climax was VERY anti-climatic. I waited all through the book for it and then it felt so rushed that I even began to wonder if I accidentally skipped some pages or something. The characters were likable .... sort of. I guess it just left me feeling cheated...I am just thankful it was free.

It is probably my fault that I just couldn't get into this story. My expectations were of a sweet romantic comedy not a mystery or a suspense. All the many dramatic plots and twists made this story a lot lacking in the romance department. I had to make myself finish by skimming and scanning since I hate not knowing how a book ends. Overall I have to say the story and characters were interesting but just not what I expected or look for in my reading material.

Typical romance novel. No surprises.

Okay book. Very predictable. I wish I could have been a little surprised by the plot twist at the end...but I wasn't.

no graphic sex just a nice romance with a touch of suspense! I like this type of book when I just want to kick back and relax.
Romantic. A little gritty. Very readable. As in I think the sun's coming up soon readable.
