(Potential readers should read the first book in the series -Forsaken Dreams- and the second one -Elusive Hope- before reading this one in order to better understand the story.)

Life in New Hope is harder than the colonists thought it would be. Some supernatural beasts, now free and unchained, are wreaking havoc on the little colony and everybody is in danger. While trying to fight this evil force and save their lives, the group of those who still want to stay in Brazil must face new threats as

The third and last installment of the brilliant Escape to Paradise series, and then *sigh*, it is already over before you know it. All three books were wonderful. Forsaken Dreams was the most adventurous, Elusive Hope the most romantic, and Abandoned Memories was definitely the most intense.

Picking up where Elusive Hope left off, the colonists of New Hope are faced with the tragic possibility of evil spiritual forces fighting against them. As a new invisible being is released, the damage,

WARNING!!!!!

Be ye warned, Mateys. When you open up Abandoned Memories, you will be swept away in a torrent of emotions....not your emotions, my friend, but the emotions of characters so well written...so real...that you will be feeling their pains, struggles, fears, hopes, dreams, love and desperation.
In Forsaken Dreams, book One in this series, you were aboard a ship, getting to know all of the main characters, especially Eliza and Blake...very well written. In Elusive Hope, book Two, you were

Abandoned Memories is the third (and last I believe) book in the Escape to Paradise series by Marylu Tyndall.

In here, we finally delve into the life of the mysterious Angeline Moore. And also the rather complex doctor/preacher, James Callaway. Both characters are majorly flawed; yet they truly care about their friends and each other. Determined to destroy an ancient evil, James tries to ignore the whispers from his past. Meanwhile, Angeline is trying to destroy her own past, but is finding it

MaryLu Tyndall has written an explosive ending to a great series, and it’s an ending that will keep you on the edge of your seat. “Abandoned Memories”, the third and final book in the Escape to Paradise series, completes the story of several homeless Southern Colonists seeking a new place to call home. In the first book, they sail to Brazil in hopes of creating a new Southern Utopia, and the small colony of New Hope is born within its jungles. In this final story, the Colonists are faced with an ...more

Abandoned Memories ( Escape To Paradise Book 3 )
By: MaryLu Tyndall
Wow, What a book. Abandoned Memories is book three in Escape To Paradise series and what an ending MaryLu Tyndall has penned for us. We are taken back to the jungle of Brazil, a colony of New Hope. This is Angeline and James story. Angeline is running from her past and the law. She has had a rough life and she does not trust God. Her last hope is starting over in the colony. James is a man that is also running from his past. He

A very satisfying end to an action packed tale. Seriously. This could be a blockbuster movie. What I loved most is how author MaryLu Tyndall weaves an intricate web that ties her characters together.

This book focuses on James and Angeline, sharing their journey of hardships and bad choices. Though fictional, every reader will relate to the consequences sin plays out in our lives.

One of the biggest themes that gets touched on time and time again is the fact that though the characters have made

This was an exciting an emotional finale to the Escape to Paradise series. These are books that, in my opinion, need to be read as a series and in order. Everything really builds up between books into the incredibly dangerous conclusion.

Abandoned Memories deals with spiritual warfare and that is a very important theme in the book. Another over arching theme is the forgiveness of sins that only God can provide. Each of these characters came to mean a lot to me over the course of the three books

It's 1866, shortly after the Civil War, and the colony of New Hope in Brazil composed of disaffected southerners is still battling the dark spirits who have been chained by God under the temple close to their colony. Two have been loosed already by those among their party who are greedily digging for the buried gold at the temple and two more spirits will be released if they keep digging.

This series is speculative fiction at its best. Although speculative fiction is not one of my favorite

Thanks to The Book Club Network for the review copy of a book that blew me away. This was the final installment of the Escape to Paradise series. It reminded me of the first few Indiana Jones movies. These settlers were in search of a new beginning. Some wanted an identity do over. There is a huge spiritual battle between good and evil all through this series with the height of the battle in this book.

Each of the books in the series focuses on a couple starting over at New Hope settlement in

A book review of "Abandoned Memories" by MaryLu Tyndall

The third book of MaryLu Tyndall's series "Escape to Paradise" won't disappoint with its incredibly gripping tale. Set in 1866, the newly settled colony of New Hope can't seem to catch a break with disasters striking from all sides, and old memories seeming to take form before their very eyes.

What a wonderful conclusion to this exciting series!! A Definite Must Read!!

MaryLu Tyndall has once again written a book that took my breath away. Being taken back to the lush green jungles of Brazil was something I have looked forward to since I started this fabulous Escape to Paradise series. If you haven't read the two previous ones; Forsaken Dreams and Elusive Hope I would suggest you do so as you will be able to follow the storyline a lot better. Besides you don't want to miss Blake and

Abandoned Memories, Escape to Paradise book 3***** by MaryLu Tyndall

Abandoned Memories takes us back to New Hope colony in Brazil. This is Angeline Moore and James Callaway's story. As with all the residents of New Hope, they both seek new beginnings in this new community. Angeline is struggling with her past, trying to keep it secret from everyone in the community, certain that if they knew her past her new friends would snub her. However, it seems her past has followed her, one of her “old

By the time I reach the third book in a series, the characters are my "friends." (Don't judge me, I'm an introvert.) And even though I know a series has to come to an end, sometimes I still dread it.

I've been eagerly awaiting Abandoned Memories, the third and final installment in MaryLu Tyndall's Escape to Paradise trilogy that follows a group of American colonists post-Civil War to the jungles of Brazil to form a new Southern utopia. And it was only disappointing in that it signaled the end of

I really enjoyed Abandoned Memories by MaryLu Tyndall. As the third book in the Escape to Paradise series, this book continues the story of the flawed characters who set sail from southern America to create a utopia in Brazil after losing the Civil War. The same cast of characters play a role in this book, but the two characters who take center stage are Angeline, a woman with a dark past, and James, a doctor-turned-preacher with just as dark a past as hers. Thrown into the mix of haunted ...more

MaryLu Tyndall has done it once again! This is a thrillingly perfect conclusion to her Escape to Paradise series. Yet again, she has shown her depth of research, describing a place and time so foreign to us, and yet it felt like I was actually there. Her story is very historically accurate, even while verging on the fantastical side. This story, in fact the whole trilogy, is so well written in its use of multiple genres, there’s a little something for everyone in it: Romance, Adventure, Action, ...more

Strong finish to this suspenseful series. Beautifully described Brazilian locations, depth to character transformations and restorations, and strong supernatural impact as these New World seekers make decisions for their futures.

Memories are something we live with, good and bad – but what if these memories are real? Could they cause you to do harm to yourself or even others? Are we ever able to abandon the memories that drag us down? Book III in the Escape to Paradise series will make you consider this question – more than once! Starting anew in a strange land is difficult, but when this is compounded by visions, “natural” disasters, an archaic temple and a Hebrew book, you have riveting fiction at its best. Can this ...more

Abandon Memories is a book that is good for everybody because this book has something we humans all go through, our past.this book 7s all about facing the past and over coming it. A great end to this series!

I'd been waiting for James and Angeline's story since the first book. And it didn't disappoint. It was a sweet love story of forgiveness of yourself and others and accepting God's forgiveness of the past. I knew it would be a struggle for them, and Angeline holding back her secret for so long was a little annoying, but in the end it was sweet and I really liked their story. And I loved that the other couples and secondary characters from the previous books were still

Abandoned Memories was a great finish to this trilogy. I enjoyed revisiting all the characters again. Angeline and James story was a good one, although he frustrated me at times. The author's writing flowed nicely, characters well-developed, and dialogue evoked emotion from the reader. I like how the "6" were all linked together and how good prevailed!

The third book in the series, this book dragged a bit -- there was a LOT of repeated events which got monotonous. This book was also really heavy with supernatural elements (which sometimes got to be a little much). However, I'd already fallen in love with the characters so I kept reading (though I did skim a lot of pages). It's not my favorite of the trilogy, but it was still a decent read.

Last book in an awesome series! Gobbled up these books and can't wait to start another series. Surprising paranormal angle is weaved well into the rest of the character's stories. Reminds me of "Lost" tv show. Interesting that the series is called "Escape to Paradise". Everyone in the story thinks they're running toward this beautiful new beginning but you cannot move toward hope without dealing with whatever it is you're running from. Thought-provoking.

ABANDONED MEMORIES follows the settlers of New Hope, a confederate colony trying to put behind their failures and short-comings as they strike out in the jungles of Brazil. But what they find is an evil far worse than they left behind.

Angeline Moore is looking for a fresh start. Forced to live a despicable life and wanted by the law, America has nothing for her. Unfortunately, another passenger on the voyage to Brazil knows exactly who she is and what she’s done. As she keeps her distance from
