Deamhan is another name for vampires who rule the "dark" and the night defines them. Isaiyan Morrison is one such author, who unlike Stephanie Meyer, have not crafted a traditional romantic tale of the so-called vampires, instead, she enlightened us, the readers, with another creature who are similar to vampires, but whose demeanour and lifestyle is more unique and scarier than those vampires, in her new book, Deamhan (Deamhan Chronicles #1).

A huge thanks to the author, Isaiyan Morrison, for gi

This is a great vampire/Demon book, all of which are called Deamhan's in the book. They all are a bit different in how they feed and in what they can do. The average person doesn't know about these deamhans. Veronica however does, she knows much about them, the differences between them, how they feed and is learning more and more, with all the time she's been spending with them. Her whole goal for putting her life in danger, is to find out what happened to her Mother.

A phenomenal paranormal thriller that takes an original portrayal on Vampires

The beautiful cover of this fantastic fantasy novel caught my eye instantly! Isaiyan Morrison has created an interesting new race of paranormal beings {similar to Vampires}, with their own social system that’s truly inspired and distinctly different. Exquisite vivid imagery and background detail regarding the supernatural, brings this remarkable creation so believably to life in your mind. Action-packed drama and spinec

New author and series alert! Reading on the dark side just got more intriguing, a little more crowded and a lot scarier thanks to the bold writing of Isaiyan Morrison and Deamhan, the flagship novel of her series, The Deamhan Chronicles. Sometimes survival means blending in, or hiding out and as the human population grew, the better the Deamhan got at blending in. Who are they? Deamhan are t

I thought the cover to this book was gorgeous. When I read the title and description I was a little iffy about this. I mean there are a lot of cheesy Vampire novels that I thought this book was going to be one of them. What I loved about this book was that this is not your normal vampire book. In this book there are different breeds of vampires and this book brought out so much more than I expected. This book is worth the 5 stars. This book had great characters, never a dull moment and was fast ...more

Deamham by Isaiyan Morrison a fab four star read. This is the first book in the Deamhan chronicles, and what a start, it gives great promise to a great series, this series looks to be fab, filled with enough mystery and intrigue that will keep you hooked. This isn’t your traditional vampire tale, this shows us that vampires are the baddies, this book shows us that they aren’t the only things that go bump in the night, and in some ways, they may be able to help against those things that go bump i ...more

Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The author had created wonderfully a new paranormal race, that resembles vampires but with a twist. This is a very action packed and thrilling story full of drama, danger and mystery. Even though the story here is about vampires like creatures, this is no ordinary vampire story and you will not see here the elements of a regular vampire we all know too well from movies and books. Twenty years after her mother’s mysterious disappearance Veronica Austin, the protagonist of the tale, sets off on a quest to track her down. The Deamhan Chronicles is not your average Vampire Novel. In fact it's not really a Vampire Novel at all. See the Deamhan are something different. Yes they need us to survive and they can die in similar ways to vampires, but they are a race unto themselves.

As the story begins a woman, one Caroline Austin is running for her life only to be scooped up by Lucius a Deamhan who has put orders out for her protection. Together they disappear into the night.

Fast forward about 20 years and now Veronica Au

Wow. Who knew there could be so many different species of vampires. :)

I love vamps to death. And reading about different kinds in one book that didn't like each other...was wonderful!!!! I won't give spoilers because I hate that but just my take on the book. I did enjoy the book. A lot!! It was a tad bit slow in the beginning for me because I'm use to reading another authors books. But!!! Oh did it get good!!!! I am jumping into book two now! As soon as I push submit I will be reading book two!

Interesting twist on vampire world

This is set in the world similar to other vampire world but contains new types of creatures little different from vampires. And of course they have watchers/chroniclers of their own. The story has pretty interesting plotline, lots of action and characters that are intriguing. It definitely has no elements of romantic notions that other vampire world is now associated with. Would be interesting to see how the stories progress in this new world. Will these creatur

This book took me a little bit to get into but once I did, I couldn't put it down. It is an interesting twist on vampires and other unnatural beings. Isaiyan brings her characters to life in a way that makes you pay attention to those that command it in the story, feel for the ones who are lesser characters but still essential. I thought it was a very good read once I got through the first couple of chapters. ...more

Deamhan have survived for centuries like vampires living in the shadows feeding off of humans. What's know about them is gathered by The Brotherhood. But after Veronica's mother is killed on a mission she begins to question everything and search for clues as to what happened taking her deeper into the unexpected Deamhan world.

I really enjoyed the story. It was original, it was thrilling and it was deliciously dangerous. There were unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing till the end.

Deamhan by Isaiyan Morrison is a thrilling book that takes a different approach to explaining the vampire legends. A distinctive difference between vampires and deamhan - which further breaks down into four categories - are made. However, there are other sinister things that also lurk in the dark. Enter The Brotherhood, a group of researchers that studies the deamhan, and the daughter of one of the hotshots, Victoria. Deamhan is an interesting take on the vampire genre, where creatures which feed on psychic energy are split in to four groups, each with their own traits and characteristics – Lamia, Ramanga, Metusba, and Lugat – all dangerous in their own unique way.

Veronica (the book’s MC) has always been suspicious about her mother’s death, and relocates to Minneapolis to retrace her last known steps. With the aid of a friend working inside a secretive society known only as The Brotherhood, she has access to

As usual I didn't read the synopsis of this book (I always prefer that) so I had no idea this is about those vampire-like creatures called Deamhans. I'm a fan of vampire stories and it's been a while since the last time I read a book in this genre so I was really excited to see the turn of events after learning about the vampire-like creatures called Deamhans. This reminded me of the Anita Blake series in sexiness before Hamilton went off the deep end. There are new species to consider and a great combination of lore.

Veronica is out to find her mother, or at least what happened to her. She's, presumably, over the age of 21 though there were times she felt like she could be younger. She's a very determined and stubborn girl whose bravery is impressive in the face of these monsters.

Remy, of course, is the hunky deamhan who gives Veronica a run for her h

A well written story, with its uniqueness, easy to understand but also captivating, and entertaining. Very refreshing to find not your ordinary vampire story.

An action packed paranormal story of a stubborn girl in a quest to find the truth about her mother whatever it takes, even if it kills her. The settings and the backdrop very well describe. All the characters were remarkable on their rolls, which is the perfect combination to make the story more likable and believable.

You never know who the true enemy is until its too late.

An action packed paranormal story of one woman's quest to find the truth in an otherworldly and dangerous world. The world building was very well done and I loved the new take on vampires. There is a lot of mystery and intrigue in this book as well and I had a great time figuring everything out with Caroline.

In the wake of nightmarish creatures and a secret order named The Brotherhood, comes Deamhan, a tale of one young woman's journey to uncover the truth behind her mother's disappearance.

With key themes of loss, as well as good vs evil, I found Deamhan to be intriguing, with a unique style of writing that fed my imagination. I found it easy to empathize with Veronica and could understand the pain she suffered from her father's cruel and detached disposition.

Wow! I loved the lore in this book and am suffering a major book hangover this morning because I could not put it down until I had read every last page. I love that I never really knew what was going to happen next with the characters. Who is good? Who is bad? Are they both? Is it OK I like the bad guys? Yes, I figured out what happened to her mother pretty early on. That being said, even after finishing the whole book, I could not tell you who all was good/bad or trustworthy/untrustworthy. This is a great beginning to an altogether different type of vampire series and I loved reading this! The typical vampire story, while still entertaining, tends to be a bit overdone and this author has provided a definite solution to this problem. I like to think of this as a vampire story with a twist. Veronica is on a mission to find out what exactly happened to her mother and there are forces working against her every step of the way. There is a significant amount of danger, suspense and intr ...more

I’ve only read a few Vampire books. And most seem to just copy each other in one aspect or another. This book was refreshing in the fact that it wasn’t just about Vampires. The author created their own supernatural creatures called Deamhan. Background and history was given for all these races, so much so, that really, Vampires could have been excluded and then the book would have been completely original.

The plot was riddled with conspiracies, lies and the like. Pretty much every character you a

**I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Right from the start I’ve got to go on and find out what is going on; a woman in a very messy situation and it’s just the prologue. As it goes on, I’m more and more intrigued, wanting to know exactly what the Deamhan are as more secrets arise. Mildly frustrating but more interesting than anything; a good book leaves me wanting more. After the prologue, it did take me some time to get into it but once the action started I was hooked. Thi

There were a few small writing errors but not enough to ruin reading. There is a lot going on and many different characters to keep track of. Four different types of vampire in this story with each bringing background and politics to the table.  It felt like I was only dipping my little toe in the explanations of the brotherhood and vampire relations. At times this story was a little overwhelming trying to keep track of the world Isaiyan was introducing me to.  Once I got further in I wa
