Okay, first thing’s first; The League of Skull and Bones looked like it’d be bad ass and I was really looking forward to getting to read this book. I signed up for the tour and got my copy only to be disappointed in the outcome. I finished this book a few days ago and I’ve been mulling it over ever since. I know most of my reviews lately have contained nothing but bitching and whining about how the “heroine” annoyed me and how the book disappointed. Well, I’m sorry, but the books I’ve been readi

4.5 stars!!

My thoughts: Sheesh, talk about a kick ass book with a bad ass heroine!!

The League of Skulls & Bones is normally a book genre that I’d normally pass over. BUT, after seeing the cover and its synopsis I just couldn’t pass up this reviewing opportunity!

I will admit that before coming reading this, it would be beneficial to you readers to first read The Doorknob Society before embarking on this since the main character’s journey really starts from there. You can read TLOS&B

When I saw this was the first book in a new fantasy/steampunk series, I looked forward to jumping into it. I found the book’s synopsis intriguing and couldn’t wait to read Jess’s story. I had not read any of M.J. Fletcher’s other works, and, unfortunately, I didn’t realize until after I had finished the book that it is a spin-off from The Doorknob Society Saga. Although this story can technically stand alone, and, overall, I was able to understand and follow the plot easily, I have to admit that

This book was given to me by PRATR and the author for an honest review. The League of Skull and Bones is the first in a new series entitled the Grimm Chronicles by MJ Fletcher. It is a futuristic steam punk fantasy ride. This book is a spin off of MJ Fletcher's Doorknob Society novels (of which there are five) however it is not necessary to read the previous novels to understand and enjoy this book. I enjoyed the League of Skull & Bones very much and look forward to reading the next book in ...more

Review: 4 out of 5 stars

The Grimm Chronicles in a spin-off series to The Doorknob Society saga. This review may contain possible spoilers from the first series.

We first meet Jessica Grimm in MJ Fletcher’s The Doorknob Society saga and whilst I do feel this book can be read without reading the saga as enough background information is given I do think it would be beneficial to read his first books so that you do get the complete story to find out more about the other characters and what has happen

I give this 3 stars.

This series is a spinoff from the DoorKnob Society saga, which I have to say I really enjoyed, in spite of the many grammar and spelling errors. I must recommend that in order to fully appreciate this story, one should read the DS Saga since some details are assumed to be understood.

Jessica Grimm, the main character in this series, was one of my favorite supporting characters in the DS Saga so I was really looking forward to seeing her character develop more.

When I first began the book I wasn't quite sure what way it was going or what it was about. As I read more,I became engrossed in the intrigue and adventure.

Jess is a strong but insecure character. Oxymoronic to say that isn't it?? Well let me explain. She is a heroine in her own right. Strong in how she has overcome adversity and has fought valiantly for her people. Strong in her protection of her family even going as far as saving one from taking on the family protection of the key. Strong in

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when you sacrifice yourself to save your family and the rest of your kind? Jessica Grimm finds that out, and it isn't pleasant. She now is attached to an artifact that is killing her and is now on the chase for a Timelock that may help her save her life. The only problem is, there is someone who wants the artifact and will do anything to get it. So Jessica now has to take major risks and learn to trust someone other than her closest

I received this book from the author in exchange for and honest review.

While The League of Skull & Bones is book one of the Grimm Chronicles, the characters are featured in an earlier series called The Doorknob Society Saga. While I don't think it's completely necessary to read that series first, I recommend it. I haven't read it, and I felt a bit overwhelmed at times while reading this book. Jessica's prior adventures sound so exciting, I can't wait to read them.

Part romance, part action-ad

Another series from the author of The Doorknob Society! However, this series is actually a spin-off of The Doorknob Society which to be honest I just hoped for another story, another world, mainly because MJ Fletcher has this really creative way with plots and I know that it wouldn't have been a disappointed. Nonetheless, the story was still good and thrilling but had some flaws here and there that kinda lessened my overall rating and enjoyment of the story.

The plot was really fun to read and o

Review from http://a-reader-lives-a-thousand-live...

I received a copy of The League of Skull & Bones in exchange for my review.

Jessica Grimm is scarred by her past, and is controlled by the need to find a device which will save her from the artifact which is slowly killing her. But her life is full of twists and turns and Jess doesn't know who she can trust, even with the handsome men that are hanging around her. And she certainly can't trust the League, even after they have accepted her int

I love steam-punk novels because I know that I will never be disappointed. For this book that was exactly what it was, I was not disappointed at all. M.J. Fletcher captured my attention right from the beginning and held onto me till the very end.

I felt the book was fast-paced for me. Everything flowed perfectly well and by the end it left me wanting more. I feel that it being also an ebook also helped with that but besides that the story was a great NA read. I feel that every NA book that I have

Jess is a very interesting female lead. Scarred out of her initial image of herself – the pretty girl that always looks perfect and finds flirting easy, she is now focused on fighting. For her friends, for her life, for what she considers to be right. Trapped between the “I don’t do boyfriends” mantra, her need to reconcile with how she sees herself now, and the need to not be alone, Jess makes a shaky way through a dark world of paranormal abilities, never quite knowing who to trust.

This is a spinoff from The Doorknob Society books, to where you are now following Jessica Grimm in her adventures instead of her cousin, Chloe Masters.
Jess needs to find a way to keep the Artifact from killing her, as well as figure out who is after her for the Artifact. She trusts no one, how can she when they all seem to want something from her?
Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I give this 3 1/2 stars. I didn't like this one as much as the previously books. The reason I don't like this one as much is because in the previous books all the friends were a part of all the books all the time. In this book it all about Jess and that gets boring quick. She is kick ass through most of the book but it still wasn't as good as the original series of books.
