Blair was an ordinary girl who has to deal with an evil boss and her ugly daughters - the equivalent of the step mother and step daughters.
Her two 'fairy godfathers' encourage her to go to a masked ball all decked up and looking gorgeous, and there she meets with the rockstar Hunter!
When she leaves next day, Hunter launches a search for her and the rest is history!
Super awesome twist on Cinderella... she meets Hunter at his masked ball and they click immediately. This book is the perfectay on a all time favorite fairy tale. She is truly his Cinderella and he proves it too her over and over. Her fairy godfathers are awesome also. Its great seeing her coming out of her shell with Derrick.
“So, Cinderella, now that it’s midnight, are you going to rush off and leave me?” He asks.
I look back at the clock that is reading midnight. I laugh, “No. I have till noon.” I tease.
When I wake up the last thing I expect is to wake to an empty and cold bed. I glance around.
The necklace, her dress, my Cinderella is gone. I jump from my bed for any trace of her.
“A billboard in the middle of Times Square. A plea to the media and the public to find your
mystery girl.” He says, “Extrem ...more
I loved this book almost more than I adored Little Red (Book One in The Believe Trilogy)
We start off with Blair... she's not plain or anything but she seems to think she is... She reminds me of myself actually....
She is running late, stopping to grab coffee for everyone at work on her way in trying to beat her boss in..
Blair works for "The Ice Queen" and boy does she earn that title.!!
I read Little Red and while that book took me a while to get the hang on the ever ...more
*I received this ARC from the Author via My Family's Heart Book Reviews in exchange for an honest review*
The Shoe is a modern day Cinderella story. Complete with a lost shoe. Unlike the original, this lost shoe is worth almost eight grand! Cinderella is a sales girl named Blair, and Prince Charming is a hottie rock star whose stage name is Hunter. Hunter does everything in his power to find Blair after she wakes up after a night of hanging out and she's gone. All he has left of her is one crys...more
In this case, Blair is a young woman working for an evil ice queen, Camilla Hodgkins, with two nasty daughters, Mary Ann and Fay. The role of the Fairy Godmother is played hilariously by Blair’s best friends/saviors at times, Anthony and Christian. And the prince happens to be Derek Hunter, ...more
Cinderella love story, turned modern day.
I was given this book as an ARC to give an honest review.
I give this story a 4.5 stars .. I rated it a 5 because I rounded it up!! 4 was just not enough for me:)
All Blair wants out of life is a happy life one that doesn't consist of the wicked boss lady Camilla that she works for. When boss lady goes on a vaca, she steps in with the help from her two gay bff's Anthony and Christian and goes to the party that wicked old boss lady had an invite to ...more
In this book Trista basically retells Cinderella in modern day. Blair is a young woman who works in a fashion store under "The Ice Queen," he ...more
This was such a cute retelling of a classic fairy tale. The plot was very good, characters were relatable and believe able. Its a somewhat fast/slow paced story. Keeps your interest and just a great story overall.
We first meet Blair who is a average everyday girl. Who like so many of us have a horrible boss. But she also has her BFF's Christian and Anthony, I loved those two. Blair goes to a masquerade and meets her prince charming, only to run out on him the next morning leaving behind a shoe ...more
The Ice Queen, and the her two fashion-challenged daughters live to make Blair’s life miserable at the boutique where they all work. When the Ice family is on vacation, the only other employee and Blair’s friend, Christian, encourages her to take an invitation to a masked ball and “meet your Prince Charming.” At the ball, she meets Derek Hunter, lead singer and song-writer for the wildly popular rock band, The Huntsman. Her story flows easily, and just like in Little Red – book one of The Believe series – the action is recounted using each character’s point of view in turn, giving us an idea about their feelings and thoughts at all times. Blair and Hunter are modern projections of Cinderella and Prin ...more
Now don’t get me wrong I love the fairy tales just like any other girl, but it takes a lot for me to get into stories that are twists off of the old fairy tales. That wasn’t the case with The Shoe though, I completely enjoyed this story. I thought it was great how the story went along, and the things that the author thought to i ...more
The Shoe was so much fun to read!! I loved Anthony and Christian,by the way!!...
Derek is such a knight!...He is too good to be true..He's always so kind and chivalrous and sexy..He really puts other men into a shameful position..Yes,he is THAT good...And he is exactly waht our beautiful Blair needs in her life..

This is a great take on Cinderella and does not disappoint. The key parts are here and are so fun to come across as the story progresses. My favorite is probably the fairy godfathers. Her two close guy friends are hilarious, sweet, and push her in all the best ways.

Although, Blair and Hunter are the modern versions of Cinderella and Prince Charming, I found the most animated characters of this story were Christian and Anthony (Blair's "fairy-godfathers"). They made me laugh so hard I cried. The Shoe is a modern day, romantic, rendition of the classic Cinderella story. The plot kept my interest and characters are very relate able. The Shoe is only the second book of what is publici ...more
