This book has been very usefull to me in knowing Africa more comprehensively. A lot of informations are provided ranging from the basic/common infos to a very detail ones such as cost of public transport, bottle water, gasoline, etc. It contains information on most of the important places in Africa. For travelers..., this book is a must..!!.

Yea. I read the whole thing. Information about all 53 countries. That's just how obsessed I am with the Motherland. My biggest problem with the book is I wanted more historical information/background about each of the countries and I found that to be the weakest aspect of the book.

Another excellent guide from Lonely Planet, but too big with not much info on each region. Use for general planning and then download just the parts you need from the LP site.
