I like Bobbi Brown makeup a lot and have most of her books. However this one fell short, since it is extremely basic and dedicated only to young women. Since Bobbi herself is in her 50's, I thought there would be a segment oriented to mature women. I was wrong. Also, way too many pages on eyeglass frames. I am very disappointed in this book. ...more

Just the basics; the basics for a much younger group of women than myself. I was disappointed.

Yikes...this was embarrassingly bad. I read it cover to cover in less than thirty minutes and didn’t learn anything I didn’t already know by the time I was in high school - how is that possible from a makeup artist with a successful, well known line? Who also consulted other artists for some sections? The eye makeup looks were beyond basic and not at all attractive. There was also a big section about glasses....the history of glasses through the ages which seemed like a set up to introduce Bobbi ...more

I found this book to be more suitable for a teenager looking to learn the basic tips of eye makeup application. Basic looks that most anyone who dabbles in eye makeup would already know. There was a nice section on eye makeup and glasses. Bobbi Brown being a glasses wearing gal she made sure to add this long chapter. It made me think of my teenage niece learning makeup and struggling with her big glasses. However if your don't wear glasses then this chapter is not for you. On the other hand I wa ...more

I didn’t learn much with this one, but I’m finding she writes great makeup books! I loved how there was a whole chapter dedicated to ladies with glasses!

In light of all of the YouTube gurus and makeup Pin Boards available, this book falls well short of being a useful overall guide to applying eye makeup. However, the section on eyeglasses, including 2 pages on sunglasses, makes it worth a glance (borrow it from the library).

"1: The Basics": The pages on eye care give a decent overview and list some ingredients for further research. The corrector and concealer pages are worth a look. The brow care section is practically useless for the beginner s

I received this book as part of a First Reads give-away and I am so thrilled that I did. The book is wonderful and a great gift for any make-up loving young woman in your life.

I really enjoyed the way the book was organized because I found it very easy to stroll through the book and find tips that actually fit my face. These aren't hard skilled tips that require special tools or expensive make-up. They are everyday tips for every face.

My teenage daughter is a make-up queen. She loves watching th

I was so happy to have won this book in a giveaway and to give my honest review about it. I have to say that although I do love makeup books I never would buy them. They are always way too big and heavy and that is just very inconvenient for me. So the fact that this book is small and light and

For a book titled "Everything Eyes", this was slightly disappointing. It included mostly basic looks that required little instruction. I expected something beyond the everyday nude, smoky, and cat-eye. I will give Brown credit for one thing though: gorgeous cover. ...more

Not sure how to feel about this book since I don't have ANY experience with make-up. I skimmed through it and thought some of the styles looked outdated and ugly on the models but I'll give it a try. I usually loooooooove Bobbi's natural make-up looks so I guess I'll have to try them on myself first! ...more

I liked this one. I really like that it included a chapter on makeup with eye glasses. I haven't seen that in other books. I will say that there were perhaps some wasted pages with regards to eye glasses. Don't think there needed to be pages and pages of pictures of glasses, but tips for using make up while wearing glasses was appreciated. ...more

The big yikes. A big set up for her glasses line. Everything else is fluff. I wanted to pick up on some suggestions that were not saturated with instagram heavy looks, this is almost an insulting read for all makeup wearers, who have worn makeup for more than a few weeks. Very basic, even for the most unexperienced this is too basic.

I read this in about half an hour and can summarize it in one sentence: fill in brows with brow powder that matches your hair color, use a light shade on your entire lid and a medium shade from lash line to crease, line your eyes all the way around (which, just no) and finish with mascara. Then the second half of the book is eyeglasses. Glad I got this from the library!

It feels like this book has few pages with large fonts and useless tips (you can easily find this anywhere in web) just to make money. It's not an old book so there are no excuses. Even if you are a beginner, there are better and free sources to actually learn something. ...more

My library featured this book on a shelf, so I picked it up. I was pleasantly surprised by the content, and I found the examples/tutorials to be easy to replicate/follow. If you like make up, I recommend it.

It would have been nice if some of the models had been older than 50.

It was...alright. This was the first time that I was reading a book on makeup, but it didn’t feel like there way anything...groundbreaking. Maybe it’s just me, but I expected it to be a lot more attention-grabbing and useful.

I would have liked more photos instead of just explanations but it's helpful for figuring out what flatters. She doesn't give restrictions, like "absolutely don't wear x of you have x shaped eyes" and I like that. ...more

A little more basic than what I was hoping for, but still good, solid advice. My favorite section was the eyeglasses, something not discussed often enough in the beauty sphere.

I like a more dramatic style and Bobbi Brown is known for her more subdued looks. I still thought maybe I could learn some new tricks from a professional. There is nothing new to me in this book. Her instructions are totally unnecessary unless you're just starting out with makeup. Actually, I don't recall mention of eye primer anywhere. When I was young and unaware of hooded lids and eye primer, I had some struggles getting makeup to stay. Using primer is so basic so why did that get left out? I ...more

I love to play with color on my face. Whether it's lipstick, eye shadow, blush I just love it! I get a lot of ideas from Pinterest. So when I saw Everything Eyes I was really excited! I have also been obsessed with shaping my brows lately. I bought some gel that comes like mascara that you put over the brows after you shape them and love it. It really holds them in place. I have always struggled with a good smokey eye. ERRRRR!!! I end up looking like I have two huge black eyes. There are a few e ...more

This covered some basic things, and I learned that eyeliner should be applied from the outer corner in. I wasn't wowed by any of the makeup looks, and didn't see any I wanted to try. Also, I appreciated that there was a chapter on glasses, which covered picking out frames for your face shape (and/or personality) as well as how to do makeup that works with glasses. However, I didn't think the glasses were all that flattering, whether they suited the models' personalities or not, and I didn't like ...more

Bobbi Brown's advice and books on makeup are usually pretty solid. In a world of easy access to online makeup tutorials, this book comes across as a little limited as far as "look books" go. My only complaint with the book was, "More please?" I wanted there to be MORE than just 10 looks! Or maybe I just wanted to see crazier makeup. I didn't pick this up because I wanted to learn anything, but I actually DID learn what the heck "corrector" is. I thought corrector was another word for concealer. ...more

Thumbs Up! This is a very nice guide to eye makeup techniques along with skin care tips and instructions for showing your eyes to their best advantage. I wear glasses and am often unaware of what I need to do to pull off a look, "Bobbi Brown Everything Eyes" offers suggestions that I found to be very helpful. I received the book in this morning's mail and have already been experimenting....with success!

I like to read makeup books from Bobbi Brown because she reminds me of a time in the 90's when being a makeup artist was my dream. I know that they're basic manuals for beginners, but something draws me in (like Kevyn Aucoin's old books). Many of the 90's trends have come back and Bobbi definitely had her hand in many of them. If you're looking for classic makeup that enhances your natural beauty, BB is the way to go. ...more

For every person saying this book was too basic, there’ll come someone like me and say it was not basic enough. Yes, I’m a newbie when it comes to make up and now that I reached a certain age I decided to at least try it, but I think I’ll stick to YT videos. To be honest I didn’t like most of the makeups shown by Bobbi, and half of the book is about glasses- quite useful if it didn’t feel like an advertisement of her own brand.

So, I can’t really tell too much about this book, because there isn’t that much to talk about. It’s a book full with makeup tutorials about eyes, so what would look best with your eye colour, eye shape or if you wear glasses.

I’m not too impressed with this book. Most of these things you would’ve known if you watch YouTube videos or the like. It isn’t a book you necessarily NEED to have to be an amazing makeup artist of makeup enthusiast, but it’s nice to have as reference material.
