I was blessed to be raised by two parents, even though my Dad was military and away often, and they are still together at 60 years. All 3 of our children have been jointly raised by their father and I who have been married 40 years.
Our oldest daughter is a single mother of two girls with no support from either of her children's fathers. I am so excited that I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and when I see her today I am giving her this book. I hope she finds wisdom, support, and sound advice from someone else who has walked in her shoes. To truly understand what one person goes through, you need to be able to say, I understand, I am where you are, and I would like to share this with you.

I am not a single mom, but I was raised by one and I witnessed the struggles they face on a daily basis. Pam Kanaly's book offers a unique combination of what makes this book a MUST READ for every single mom across this globe. l. It's biblcally rich with the words of spiritual truth and helpful insights in how to progess through the stages to healing. 2. It's relatable. Every single mom will identity with the raw emotions that Pam shared in her own journey. 3. It's offers single moms hope. Her chapter eight, the last chapter, will empower every mom to make the most of their roles as single mothers by relying of Christ to do exceedingly and abundantly in their lives. I'm planning on giving a copy to every single mom I know. She hooks you in chapter one! So, "hats off" to all the single moms out there. You are MY HEROES.

This book is a must read! For single moms and anyone wanting to strengthen their daily faith walk. Pam faces life issues with God-given courage and trust in His unfailing love and strength. My faith has been challenged and sharpened by reading just the first few chapters!

I am amazed once again how completely Pam speaks to the heart of the single mom. She sees to the very heart, the places we keep hidden from everyone else, that which only another single mom understands, and pulls them to the forefront. You can't hide from someone who knows your plight! This is such a good thing!! Single mom's NEED to be seen and understood, but most importantly we NEED someone that speaks to our heart, who has been where we are and who knows firsthand how much God LOVES and ADORES us! Pam does this so well. She has been where we are, she has walked the trenches and this is why she can reach us and minister to us. As single mom's we can feel adrift surrounded by all the "married" people because we are 1 person, there is not someone else to lean on when we are upset at night after the kids go to bed. Here is the secret...we are NOT alone. We have God as our husband, the head of our household, and then we have Pam who understands all of this. We may not have chose this path, but God is with us, God is carrying us through, and He WILL lead us through our journey! Thank you Pam for speaking to our hearts and our deepest feelings that we don't show! If you know a single mom, please get this book for them!

I’m not a single mom…but I married one! And I’m a pastor of a single parent ministry at a large church. I had an early released copy. So I am very thankful a book like this has been published. Pam has lived the roller coaster ride herself and knows first-hand how God can take the ups and downs, twists and turns and through His Word, His Son and His Spirit can calm your stomach, allowing you to take a deep breath and learn to trust instead of fear.
Pam gives great insight of her own story, but also she captures nuggets from other single moms helping everyone realize they are not alone and don’t have to feel isolated. I have been a single mother for 18 years and like so many others, I have felt like the only single mother in the world. When Pam Kanaly wrote this book, I felt she was writing to me and for me. I was happy to learn I was not alone and the emotional rollercoaster I had been on was not abnormal and I was and am not alone for I have and has always had GOD. My favorite passage from the book is "God sees what rules your sense of security. He has promised to bring His unchangeable character and unconditional love into your darkness because God remains: Sovereign, Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Just." In other words, "If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it". Don't we all have to realize that at some point and time during our life's journey?
I recommend this book for anyone who have experienced emotional rollercoasters for whatever reason. If you are human, you have emotions which can sometimes send you on a whirl wind. Find comfort and understanding in this book. Take a joyful ride with Pam Kanaly

Pam has walked the road herself as a single parent and understands the rollercoaster emotions every single mom faces. Not only is this book a compelling must read for single moms, it is also a must read for any parent of a single mom who is looking for insight into the emotions and struggles your child is facing as a single parent. Pam not only gets to the heart of the emotions, she shows single moms how to navigate the ups and downs, twists and turns of being a single parent through holding onto God’s truth, love and wisdom. In her book Pam says, “Through God’s Spirit you can take the edge off doom and gloom and replace it with settled peace. Pam has written the book with such honesty, vulnerbility, and kindness. The Single Mom and Her Rollercoaster Emotions will be a must have for single moms! The book has so many "oh my goodness I am not alone" moments in it, and makes you immediately feel like you are connected to others. None of us wish single motherhood upon ourselves, but isn't it great to know we are not alone and that this journey is survivable through grace and support of others.

As the husband of a former single mom, and father to five beautiful girls, I understand how important books like this can be to women who are at a demanding and overwhelming stage in their lives. To me, this book is also beneficial for those (like me) who have started a new life with a woman who had to raise her children alone, because it gives special insight into what they have been through, and what they need to heal and to flourish. First, Christ, and then love, support, and understanding.

This book is written compassionately and tenderly by someone who has traveled the road of single parenting. Pam Kanaly unwraps the wounded emotions of a single mom with great understanding having been a single mom herself. It has been many years since I was a single mom and I am so excited for the women of this generation to have a resource that points them to the Lord Jesus who can heal them, give them victory in the trenches and help them emerge as a healthy whole woman. For such a time as this was this book written.

She speaks not only to single moms needing encouragement, but to anyone wanting to grow in a relationship with Christ. April 8, 2014I have been a single mother for 9 years & this book touched me to my core. So many truths, trials, & struggles in her book that I triumphed over. Still some issues I struggle with even today. I thank Pam for having the courage to put on paper what not just I felt but other singles mothers feel. A must read not just for single moms but all women.
