I picked this book without reading the synopsis because I pretty much loooooove anything Lizzy Ford writes. True story, I tried to get a few of her other books to date me but they all turned me down. Jerks. Anyway. I picked this one up without reading the synopsis and I was all aghast in the first chapter thinking that the main character might be an evil, human-sacrificing witch. However, I put my trust in Lizzy and it turned out the female MC wasn't an evil, human-sacrificing witch! It was the bad guy who was into that! YAY! for not having the good guys sacrificing people!

So. Now that I've raved about the non-sacrificing main characters (YAY!), I would like to announce that I liked both Emma and Tristan. She's worn down by the curse on her family, he holds himself apart from those around him. She's still dealing with the awful ending to her last relationship, he doesn't get involved with women because he fears rejection. Frankly, the two of them are so cute together. Oh, and Tristan keeps a blind dog as a pet. I think I fell for him as soon as that was revealed.

A quick read with plenty of emotion and action, I was captivated from beginning to end. I'm not asking this one out on a date, though. I can't handle any more rejection.

I saw that this was free on Amazon, so I purchased it. Even though the plot was interesting (you're wondering how Emma is responsible for Adam's death, how Sissy is going to be saved, etc.), I found the beginning boring. Maybe I was just preoccupied with other plots and things. Eventually, fortunately, I stopped being bored and enjoyed the book. I started enjoying it more when Emma and Tristan left Demon Alley. The whole "save the world" theme was exciting.

This is my first Lizzy Ford book outside of the History Interrupted, which are amazing and deserve so many more readings and ratings on Goodreads! I liked that series better than this book tbh.

The romance is really really a subplot on this one, so don't read for the romance. There's no sex and the book set us up to expect it because that was the deal Tristan and Emma struck in exchange for Tristan's help. But I assume they're getting it on after the book ends lol and have started a romantic relationship. Also, I didn't really like Emma lol and definitely was not feeling any sexual tension in the beginning.

Glad it was free (still is at the time of my writing) & short, otherwise I wouldn't have read it.

This was a fun read so much that I'm willing to read more books by this author. I'm curious to see what she will do with a series.

I really enjoyed this one. There's witches, demons, curses, and freaks for the whole thing. Even the relationship between these two was good. Despite everything, they just seemed to work. If I had to nitpick something though, it would be the ending. After everything else having a good pace, the ending seemed glossed over with what could have been and just sort of was over.

Emma has a problem. It's not one just anybody can fix. The doctors say her niece won't make it past the week and they have no idea what's wrong with her. But she knows it has something to do with her dead ex's other fiance (yeah, and that's not even all of it) who is 1: crazy as hell and 2: a dark witch. So Emma knows it's a curse and, running out of time, goes to a place called Demon's Alley to try and find any help. Everyone there is all frauds, until she goes to the only place left. The one place even those freaks told her not to go because the owner there is a real demon.

I really liked Tristan. We do learn that he is in fact half demon, though we never do find out the story behind how it happened. He works as an occult consultant and knows immediately that Emma is in big trouble. He agrees to help her and protect her family. His price? He wants Emma.

Left with nowhere else to turn, Emma figures sleeping with Tristan really wouldn't be such a bad price to pay. She is afraid of him and she knows he just can't be human, but she finds out right away that he is more caring than any other human male she's been around and actually a really great guy.

The next morning these two find themselves pretending to be going out because it's just easier to say that to Emma's family when Tristan comes around her sister's house and staying there to heal her niece. Emma is pretty awful towards him, but it never turns Tristan away from her. Her family are the first people to accept him as he is and he wants Emma as his own more than he's ever wanted anything.

While Emma is often avoiding Tristan, he is trying to get information on what happened in her past to cause all of this in any way he can. And though Emma is getting absolutely terrified of the freaks that have started following her everywhere, she still won't confide in him. It isn't until her family is in an accident that she finally lets go of it all and tells him.

Tristan is certain that he can protect Emma and her family with his powers, but he never ever expected to find out a secret that his mother had been keeping since the day he was born. One that takes him out quite easily and kidnaps Emma. See, that witch psycho? She wants to bring their cheating ex back from the dead and it's that whole a life for a life thing that put a target on Emma. But she's a whole lot of crazy and things go sideways fast. For all parties involved. Tristan finds the place with ease and it's here that things were built up but never realized. We're told he needs to let go of the control he keeps on the evil inside him to win, but he might never come back from it. So that makes it sounds like this should be a pretty good fight, right? Maybe it was, but we don't really get to see much of it because it's happening in the background as Emma works for her freedom. And when it's all over, Tristan can barely move. But when Emma says they either both get out or both die there, he's all of a sudden got enough energy to not only run up the stairs and outside but to do it while carrying Emma. A little off to me.

I did like the very end. It made me chuckle and I was happy that Emma is finally going to give a real relationship with Tristan a chance.

Negotiate terms with A Demon’s Desire

Emma is desperate to right a wrong intended for her. Her four-year old niece is suffering an unknown disease and no doctor knows how to help; but Emma suspects who is causing this curse. Seeking a consult with Tristan is her last effort and he can help as long as she grants Tristan his desire. The story alone is active, energetic and constant. To finally see Emma open up and reveal truths to Tristan is rewarding and an “about time” when he is able to help heal Sissy, the niece. The twist near the end is a surprise and strengthens the storyline. Well done.

A good stand-alone story.

Emma seeks out Tristan to save her sick niece. Tristan is a half demon. Tristan realizes a horrible curse was placed on the girl. Together they face a vindictive witch, demons and their servants. They are also attracted to each other. I like the plot. The plot is set at a good pace.

The constant use of sis and mama got annoying fast. Overall it’s a quick read that has you questioning Emma’s motive. She wants Tristan to help heal Sissy but refuses to tell him anything that can help him do that. He has to go looking for that information because the person who hired him to help her niece can’t be bothered.

Not far into Emma’s relationship with Adam, she discovers he isn’t the faithful lover she thought he was. In fact, he was involved with a dark witch named Olivia who is less than thrilled that he has been a bit on the promiscuous side. Rather than directing her displeasure toward Adam, however, Olivia begins retaliating against the other women. At the beginning of this novella, Emma is searching for someone that can help cure her beloved niece of the shadows cast upon her by Olivia which are slowly draining her life. She happens upon Tristan along Demon’s Alley, a rather shady part of town, and he agrees to help her fight the darkness. The thing is, Tristan is full of that same darkness, and while he’s fighting for little Sissy’s life, he is also trying to maintain a balance within himself.

Helloooo Tristan! Tall, dark, and handsome – never mind the darkness that surrounds him is pure evil from the depths of hell. He means well and that’s all that matters. Each of Lizzy’s characters has personality and purpose in the story, which makes it that much better. Normally when two characters meet and suddenly have such a strong attraction to one another, it tends to be rather bothersome, but for some reason, this time it didn’t bother me at all. At one point, the author mentions that it felt as if they had known each other in a past life, and that is the exact vibe I got from them from the beginning. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship develop in the short time it took to read this novella.

I really enjoyed this book, and it was a great introduction to Lizzy’s work. Adding Isolde was just icing on the cake for me. I’m such a sucker for sweet animals in stories, and now that I’m a great dane owner myself, I was definitely a pushover for Isolde. The story itself just seemed to flow perfectly, and being on the shorter side, we aren’t caught up in long, drawn-out drama amongst the characters. There’s a good balance of normalcy against the magic and action happening along the way. And everything was vivid and believable.

This is a short and sweet read; my only complaint was that it was over so quickly!

With a name like A Demon’s Desire, I expected this to be an erotica (for the record, I’m seriously glad it wasn’t since I really can’t be reading that sort of thing while at work. Besides, this proves that a book doesn’t have sex in it to be a steamy romance). But rather than being cheap porn, this was a very sweet/hot romance with a delicious tall, dark stranger. Tristan is everything one could want in a book boyfriend (smoldering looks, a wild side needing to be tamed, warm, humorous, extremely loving, out of practice in the romance department, and very heroic trying to save people from darkness even when the darkness is himself). Emma seemed the typical heroine--stubborn, feisty, unwilling to fully divulge information (highly cliché. I’ve gotten to really dislike characters that don’t like all the cards on the table). Olivia also felt very one-dimensional as a bad guy. But Emma’s family, I did love them to pieces and even Tristan’s mom was nicely fleshed out. I did love all the scenes of Tristan hanging out with Emma’s family and the story itself had wonderful tension and flowed realistically to a climax that had plenty of surprises. Though what happened to the Winter Man? It didn’t seem like that got an explanation. Still I loved this story so much that by the end, I wished it was longer. In all, I thought A Demon’s Desire was a wonderfully dark, sexy, heart-warming read and Lizzy Ford has impressed me again and continues to be a favorite author.

I loved it.

I immediately loved Emma and Tristan. It was beautiful and dark.

Emma is scared of dark. It all started when she was in a secret relationship with Adam. Adam swore that he loved her and not his girlfriend Olivia. He told her that he would eventually break up with Olivia. But he lied to both of them and was in relationship with both of them. Olivia was obsessed with Adam. (Oh! She was a witch too! Who practiced dark stuffs) When Emma and Olivia learn that Adam wag lying to both of them, Olivia was furious. She promises to destroy Emma. Adam commits suicide by jumping from a bridge, scared of Olivia.

It all begins when Olivia curses Emma's family. It was hard for Emma to face her as she was only a human. Emma tries to find help. But she doesn't find any. Purple whom she approached were humans who just pretended that they could help her. Finally she finds Tristan who helps her. Tristan's a demon who uses his powers to help the good.

But demons don't usually help without a favor. A deal. She agrees to let him use her body as he desires.

I liked how everything wasn't about their love or sex. It was kinda different. Adventurous. I really loved it.

Don't get me wrong I love Lizzy's books, I love how she can pound out books and make them fun, entertaining, funny, and makes you love the characters, but the chemistry between Emma and Tristan didn't jump off the page as much as the other characters in her books would, like in "Damian's Oracle" or the "Witchling" Trilogy. I think this is the first book I can't give 5 stars to, I still enjoyed it don't get me wrong but it's only going to get 4 stars. I laughed really hysterically at one of the conversations Tristan and Emma had I mean it was something else.
"what I said. I want you."
"Like to kill or turn into a toad or drink my blood or something?"
"Nothing so drastic," he assured her with a half-smile. "Your body."
"You'll have to spell this out for me," she said. She clutched shaking hands together in her lap.
"The way a man wants a woman," he said.
"Oh. OH!" She exclaimed and gave a shaky laugh.
Geesh Emma naive much? As I said I enjoyed this book but not as much as the others she's written

- started out strong, even with her 'moments' Emma is still likeable but then some of her actions seemed out of character - like taking candy from a Demon??? and holding back important info Tristan could use to help save Sissy
- Tristan was a little more fleshed out for me, truer? to his character being a half-demon who came across more human, caring - but his complete acceptance of Emma's reluctance to help him 'more' (esp. when she was so determined to do anything - sleep with a Demon - to save Sissy) made me scratch my head...
- the writing was not without some repetitive annoyances (mama this, mama that and Emma's thrown in references to Tristan as a demon-devil when she didn't really know what he was)
- overall it had the potential to be, but was not the most enjoyable read for me.

Lizzy ford has done it again. I wish this book lasted longer. I finished it in about 3 hours and I didn't want the story to stop. Emma is a mostly normal girl who has a sense about the darkness of the world. She has a dark people in her past that come to haunt her and her family. She finds help in the darkness she has come to fear. Tristen is a half demon that helps people with supernatural problems for a price. Tristen is Emma's last chance to make things right and rid herself of the people that want to harm her. Tristen and Emma find the strength in each other to survive and conquer. If you like Lizzy Ford then you will love this book. She really knows how to right a good story that grabs you from the first word, and doesn't let you go until the last.

I read somewhere that this was not a favorite of the author's but I enjoyed it thoroughly! Even though I thought it was a 4 star book, I can understand why Lizzy wasn't a huge fan. It seemed to end with a lot of questions in my mind, which normally doesn't happen unless she is putting out a follow up book or if it was a series or something. I think it could of been longer and I would of been happy! Anyway, I love this author and I REALLY liked this story, I wish she liked it more and would write more about Tristan and Emma. Or maybe do a rewrite and add more to it. Either way, I'll take what I can get from Ms. Ford, as I love entering her world even if it is for a short amount of time.

Be prepared to get sucked in right from the start. The author has written this story in such a way that you can't help but fall in love with Emma and Tristan. Emma's desire to do whatever is necessary to protect her family leads her to Tristan. Tristan not only takes Emma's need seriously he finds that he is drawn to her in a way that he has never been to another. She is everything that is pure and good and Tristan makes it his personal mission to help her and her family. Tristan has darkness inside of him but it doesn't take Emma long to see past that to the man himself. My only hope is that this novella leads to more stories about Tristan and Emma because I feel that there is more of their story to tell.

Terrific worldbuilding and plotting with the demons and witches aspect. Nice character development and good slow to build romance. Hero was a perfect flawed type who sacrificed for good of others. Heroine annoyed me at first with her tough girl at the wrong time and keeping important secrets behavior, but that was part of her growth arc. Well done grand finale. Enjoyed where the story left it on the romance, but would have love to know for sure what the deal was with Tristan's family past and to have seen his mom and Emma meet. Not much steam, but story didn't need it either. I will definitely read more from this author.

Ohhhhh this was wonderful and creepy with a lovely twist of good over evil MY KIND OF READ . What a surprise the timid but stubborn Emma turned out to be and the mysteriously DARK yet surprisingly Good half demon Tristan the surprises are left and right and like after reading "The Birds " I found myself looking into EVERY dark corner of my house making sure NOTHING was moving (delicate shiver down my spine ) I will be watching for more was WONDERFUL I know you will all enjoy this has something for us all and funny how it did not NEED alot of sex to keep my interest .

I liked the premise; a young woman seeks the help of a half demon to lift a curse on her family, but it goes downhill from there.

I would have liked a better explanation why Tristan's mother withheld certain facts, her explanation didn't ring true to me. And a chance meeting like that, hmmmm, no.

I also agree with what other reviewers have said; accepting candy from a demon seems very out of character, and Tristan seemed to shake off his supposedly strong dark side much too easily.

But still, liked Tristan's insta-love and the HEA, of course;-P

This novella sucked me in right from the start. It was my first Lizzy Ford book and it's certainly not going to be my last. The writing is absolutely flawless and the description is so magical it puts you right in the scene. Every character, minor or major, was three-dimensional, and I fell in love with the good guys. I loved the flawed main character and the way she grew. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

Received this book (Wattpad) in return for a honest review.

From start to finish I was hooked and found it impossible to put down. I loved Emma and the story that progressed with her and her "Dark Angel" was incredible. I loved Tristan's interaction with Emma's family in his quest to help her. His character progression was one that I enjoyed and I found myself rooting for them to succeed. I definitely recommend this one, and hope that in time, we might eventually get a sequel.

What a great book!! I couldn't put it down. In this book you follow Emma as she tries to find someone familiar with the occult who can help her niece who has been cursed by black magic. Enter Tristan, a demon, who offers to help and also ends up falling for Emma. Lizzy has such a creative gift and her books are always worth reading.

Enjoyed reading it, it was short and sweet. No dull moment. I want to know more though. There was a little twist to it too :-). Although I think I'd want to know what the connection is between Tristan and Emma that drew them together in the first place, aside from the obvious. A possible past life connection was mentioned...
