I had the bilingual version with italian translation on one side. The only poem I fully immersed myself and enjoyed it. In the Inferno you can find various political and social struggles of the author portrayed by various figure of speeches and a love story.

So thankful for such a clear and accessible guide through The Inferno. I read each summary and analysis before reading the cantos and it really helped me understand Dante's work.

Ah, you have to love "Sparknotes". Like "Cliffnotes", it saves you from some ponderous reading. I have a feeling that this book really needs to be read in Italian; and I just don't have that skill. But this precis of the work and explanation of it were exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
