Seraphina Dovetail is a young girl attending a witch category. However, as a 7th born, she falls into a group who was formerly persecuted and still runs into many prejudices in the current day. She has no memory of her past or her family aside from a horrible year spent with a warlock who constantly drained her power, nearly killing her. When she is asked to assist Professor Barrington, a dower, grumpy man, she learns more about magic than she has at the academy and discovers just how powerful she can be. But will the power save her when her best friend betrays her and a young man who professes his love for her dies to protect her? Will she survive and be able to achieve her dream of becoming an inspector and then find the answers to her past?
