1 Star

Quite frankly, I am mystified by all the 4 & 5 star reviews.

Whelp, I know I won't be reading any more of this series.

This book was....
Highly Repetitive.
Jumpy Scenes.....
& filled with a large variety of every type of editing errors.

It seems like the author couldn't decide where they wanted to go with the story, nor how to get there.

There are contradictions and large information gaps.

The romance and action is tenuous. Insubstantial.

I don't really have a lot to say about this one. I love paranormal romance and I have a huge soft spot for ANYTHING about dragons but this missed the mark for me pretty much all the way around.

The mythology could have been interesting but the relationships felt forced and even for a PNR with soul mates and mating bonds things happened so quickly between Gwen and Markus that I didn't find it even slightly believable. Especially considering how Gwen had good reason to be terrified of dragons and

Favorite Lines "All females betrayed their lovers sooner or later.”

“That female was going to kill him before the week was up.” “I don’t understand the things I feel when I’m around you.” There. He said it. Studying her hands in her lap, she sagged into the sofa. “I’m starting to care for you more than I should. It scares me.”

“Yet, in order to keep her it had to be true love. Hell, he didn’t know what that was. Didn’t know if the feeling growing inside him for this female was love or just

Not all is fair in Love and War. This is a new series by Lia - Sons of War. It is about the sons of Ares, God of War, who were sent to Earth to keep peace - watching over the descendants to prevent more wars. I really enjoyed this story. Sometimes books that are more fantasy are hard for me get started with or follow or I get distracted by the explanations needed at the beginning. But this did not happen with War's Passion. The author balanced the new information I needed to learn to understand ...more

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

War's Passion was my first foray into the lovely imagination of Lia Davis, and what a great place to start. A family of dragon shifters descended rom Ares' dragon a la the legend of the Spartoi, Demi-gods & goddesses descended from Artemis, Aphrodite, Nyx, the Fates & more, a lovely open society world in a quaint seaside town, a surprising twist, an antagonist with tension (also a family member) and some red hot passion.

Here be Dragons. There is just something fascinating about mythical creatures like unicorns, mermaids, and dragons. They capture our imagination so much that we have stories through out history and span the scope of humanity on different sides of the globe with slight variations on the main theme. Dragons are an integral part of our knowledge base and yet often they are seen as destructive creatures with a penchant for collecting and hoarding gold. And this archetype has served us well but I’m ...more

Take a ride on the back of a black and blue dragon and fly into War's Passion. You'll see the world as you've never seen it before, dip and spin until your stomach roils and then light gently on a secluded romantic beach.

Since I have read this author before and know she can certainly write paranormal very well I was intrigued that she was now writing a new series-one featuring dragons. I must say dragon shifters are one of my favorite in the paranormal, the passion they contain and to be wrapped fully by one would definitely be divine. I have come to realize also that when as a reader you come to expect certain novels from authors we the reader can probably sometimes get that author stuck in a cast so to speak ...more

The first book in the Sons of War series is an intriguing and exciting paranormal romance featuring dragons and the Greek Gods that sends chill down the spine.

Trying to get away from the nightmares that haunt her, Gwendolyn Preston moves to a small fishing village on the coast of Maine with her best friend. But much to her surprise the deliciously dark and handsome Markus Sullivan disrupts her attempt at a normal life. Markus has discovered that the earth-bound descendants of the gods have

So I have read all of Lia Davis’ Ashwood Falls Series and fallen in love with her characters. I can’t get enough so I figured I would try her new series Sons of War. I haven’t really gotten into dragon shifters yet, but I’m so glad I tried this one out. The story was short and sweet. I loved that we get a sneak in to a couple of the other matings that will be coming up as well. I can’t wait for Ash and Ty’s story or for Zavier and Elle’s. I love both pairs.

There was action, smoking chemistry

Another Great book on Greek mythology

I absolutely love books that the story deals with mixing Greek mythology and modern together. This book was a surprise, was not sure if the author would pull it off since most of what I have read from her so far was the Ashwood Falls series. If you love Greek mythology, Dragon shifters and magical creatures I would suggest giving this book a read, you won't be disappointed. I do look forward to the other brothers stories and I hope that she keep the momentum

I’m really into mythology as well mystical fantasy stuff so when I read the description for War’s Passion, I just had to give it a read.

First off I’m not quite sure why the book was named what it was. The book is not about War’s Passion but War’s, Ares’, dragon son and his mate. That threw me off a bit. I feel the title of a book should give me some idea as to what the story is about, which in this case, it didn’t.

Secondly, while I loved how it included lots about Greek mythology and the Gods,

I'm quickly learning that my soft shifter spot is dragons. I ADORE dragon shifters. I can't seem to get enough of them, but yet there doesn't seem to be enough books with them as the universe and that makes me a sad cat.

Then this pops up in my inbox as a review option! I was thrilled. I had gotten a taste of Lia from her other shifter series about a year ago I would say. I was worried how she would handle dragons. I am happy to say that Ms. Davis handled her dragon world VERY well.

Markus he's the bossman and well that kinda got me going (winks) "Ty grunted and stepped aside. Markus sat behind a large cherry oak desk. Drake was perched across from him with a tablet in his hand. The men swiveled their gazes to her at the same time. Without meaning to, she took a step back. Light blue rippled through Markus's dark irises, making her pulse spike. Damn it. This is a new series about Ares son's and they are dragon shifters so I think that is pretty cool. Gwen is a demi goddess and has been traumatized by the death of her father at the hands of a dragon.

Now she has dragons protecting her, but she realizes the differences between these brothers and the one that killed her father. Aphrodite's is Gwen's grandmother and ask Marcus to protect her.

What a good read! Now if you think, you are going to get hot scenes every other chapter this is not the book for you. Now it has some but not as much as most shifter stories,

The characters are interesting and the storyline keeps you engaged. I like all that mythical God stuff and it is full of that. Gwen is wimpy at first, but she has been through a great deal, but she gets herself together and turns out to be a woman who knows what she wants. Markus is the leader of the dragons and he is

I have read all of Lia's Ashwood Falls series so I thought I would give this one a try. I was not disappointed I loved Markus and Gwen's story t is just what I would have expected from Lia. My only disappointment was when it ended but lucky there are four more brothers to keep those books coming. I can't wait to read Ty and Ash's book next. Congratulations Lia Davis on a remarkable book and keep them coming.
