This is such a heartwarming story. I don't usually read children's books (since I don't have kids) but two things really got my attention...
1) ALL proceeds go to a German Shepherd rescue. That's right, the author is getting no money for this and the illustrator donated their time to work on this as well.
2) It's a story about a dog who gets adopted out of a kill shelter and gets a second chance at life.

I had the pleasure of reading this as a favour to the author, she was looking for a fresh pair of eyes to look over it before it went to print.
While this is a children's book I see no reason why adults cant enjoy this. The book is told from Neo's point of view, and on more than one occasion my heart felt heavy and tears where in my eyes as I read his story. And the illustrations add to the story in a way I've never noticed before in other books.
