Lady Scarface
Evil introduced itself early in Tiana Brantz life. Her loving parents were gunned down right in front of her eight year old eyes, leaving her alone and an unwanted child of the state of New York. The hot bullets that ushered her parents to heaven left her with a scar on her beautiful face and a broken heart. With the help of her new found brother Shabazz, Tiana managed to survive the group home for parentless children and reach her eighteenth birthday.

I am not new to reading but I am new to author Divine Ortiz. To say I was really impressed is an understatement. I thought I had this book pegged after reading the first 2-3 chapters, and it was nice to be wrong. My predictions were way off and Author Ortiz put me in my place! Tiana's story started out like a typical urban drama and then just goes in an unexpected direction. I expected her to be hood rich and scandalous, but she had another plan for her life.
I was moved by the bond that she and Shabazz shared. It was heartfelt and so endearing. It was easy to understand how they came to think of one another as brother and sister. One of my favorite parts is when Shabazz taught Tiana to stand up for herself and taught her how to fight. THROAT CHOP!!!! That was AWESOME! Also, I was feeling how Bazz did not leave her hanging, once it was time for her to be released into the world, on her own.
Shabazz was a really good dude. I mean, he could have easily taken advantage of Tiana, but he never did. He encouraged her to do better and make something of her life, while he called the streets his home. I respected him for that because people try to bring you down and don't want you doing better than them. But that was not Bazz. Nope....he took his brotherly role serious and had Tiana's six, throughout the book. I really LOVED his character.
Tiana was the type of chick I would marry, if I were a dude. Nothing beats a thorough arse chick who can hold an intellectually stimulating conversation. That is beyond sexy and such a turn on. The way Tiana carried herself was a true testament to her life story. She achieved this and that but she never forgot who she was and what was a part of her true nature. I was feeling the way her character developed.
Shabazz's crew was on some real ish and I enjoyed reading about them. They really came together as a unit....well...the original members and stood so strong. I was grabbing Puff's at certain parts and calling Divine Ortiz all kinds of names, but I will not spoil it for those who have not read yet.
I am ready and waiting on part 2, on October 1, 2013.

Lady Scarface was an exceptional read. I enjoyed the characters and the drama. Tiana aka Lady Scarface was a business woman who with the help of her brother, Shabazz, and their crew; handled the streets with skill. Don't make the mistake of letting the business suit fool you. Tiana was a force to be reckoned with, and didn't mind rocking anyone to sleep with her silenced desert eagle. Although she operated behind her brother, she was very capable of standing alone on her own two feet, and would gladly bring havoc whenever and wherever necessary shocking her counterparts. Devine was a sexy brother that always respected Tiana and was never intimidated by her strong will and wealthy lifestyle. Most importantly, he loved her. I think in book two together they will be a great team, and no one will be able to penetrate anything that they build. Divine Ortiz is a new author and an extremely talented writer. I look forward to reading more from him in the future.

I enjoyed this book. It was interesting from beginning to end. Looking forward to reading additional novels from this author.

This was an ok read for me. A lot of revenge killing but that is what you get in urban fiction. Hence, the title. Unfortunately, this book couldn't hold my attention.

I can't believe this book is over. Tiana aka Lady Scarface is bad all by herself. Life wasn't easy for her after her parents were murder in front of her at the age of eight but with the help of someone she met in a group home she learned not only the street life but became a lawyer too. She could kill with no emotions but also represent u in a court of law like no other. This book was excellent and I can't wait for part two.I can't believe this book is over. New author Divine Ortiz hit the urban literary scene with pen blazing! Tiana Brantz started out life as a normal little girl who shared a wonderful life with her loving parents. On one horrible night, her life is changed forever, and Tiana has to grow up way before her time. Fortunately for her, Shabazz takes her under his wing, and becomes the brother she never had.
Lady Scarface is a fast paced, gritty and raw urban read, that you can relate to. It's got all the elements I love in a good book: drama, suspense, surprise, fast pace, and in your face action! I can't wait to see what Lady Scarface gets into in Lady Scarface 2!

Looking for a mini surprise on every page, then this is it! In this book by Divine Ortiz we were introduced to Lady Scarface that keeps her word by any means necessary! Her word is her bond and you better watch out if you dare cross her or her family. Keep your eyes glued to the pages and enjoy the ride! Divine seems to be a quiet storm in the making.

This is a great work for Divine's 1st novel. I really enjoyed this ~ so disappointed that Shabazz was killed but really excited about Tianna & Divine's relationship. I can't wait to find out why and what murder Tianna was arrested for. Let's do this Divine your fans have your back!

Good Read but not all what I expected. I expected to read more about Tiana being ruthless instead of her brother being more in the lead. Overall, it was a good read. Not sure if I will be in a rush to grab Part 2.

Absolutely Actiontastic...Loved the book from the beginning to the end. Haven't read the sequel yet, but you can be sure that i will read each one. Good work Divine Ortiz, looking forward to reading the rest.

Nicely written I liked it. If you liked this book, you may like my book, "Liliana" it's a romantic suspense that is full of twisted surprises.
