"I received this book for free from Goodread's giveaways for an honest review."

This book is meant to be an introduction to diversity for children. I really enjoyed the text of this book, but didn't care for the photo illustrations. I am planning to give it to my children's daycare as I think it would be a good book for them to use in the classroom.

The Skin on My Chin is an excellent picture book to help kids realize that we are all alike underneath our skin. I really like the pictures and the way it shows kids who are of different races and with disabilities. I will definitely read this to my class.

This is a great way showing we are living in a diverse society. A good awareness and representation for kids where skin color doesn't matter.

Written in a style that children can relate to. Filled with photographs that do a great job of illustrating the text.

"The Skin on My Chin" by Michelle Chalmers helps kids to see how we are all the same even though we all look different. It has wonderful photos of real children that help bring the book to life. It also provides a positive message on how what matters most, is not how we look, but the person we are. In the back of the book there is a glossary, questions to go over and other resources to help further expand the discussion. I received a free copy of this book to review through Goodreads.
