A great research book. Good for reading about a book that I would probably not read.

I wasn't going to review this at first. After all, a Cliffs is a Cliffs is a Cliffs, isn't it? Then I realized that wasn't really fair, especially as the Cliffs notes for Atlas Shrugged was pretty well awful by comparison to this one. This lady did a pretty decent job in such a slim commentary, and deserves a shout-out for that. And I'm definitely going to follow her recommendation and read The Hedgehog and the Fox: An Essay on Tolstoy's View of History.

Yes a joke,
But hopefully with some feedback, encouragement &, insight as to why I want to spend the next two months growing a beard and suffering multiple strokes - I'll see; where Cliff was comming from :-).

This was helpful. It would have been better if it had more closely matched our translation of the novel.

Okay, normally I wouldn't rate and review a Cliffs Notes book, but this one is over 100 pages long and well written. I doubt I would have made it through War and Peace without it.
