Outdated and legalistic. To be honest, it has a few nuggets of wisdom, but nothing you wouldn’t be able to discover elsewhere. I have a problem when “pray” is the only solution. I do believe in a God who listens and answers our heart cries, but I need practical ways to handle the struggles of being a ministry wife & mother beyond “just pray”. Also, don’t tell me I should never argue with my husband unless I’m “looking my best” (aka. Never argue with him with “rollers in your hair”.) Not ok. This is a book that is suppose to help you break through the stereotypes of ministry...yet all it does is shove you down further and deeper into that box = Sit still. Look pretty. Don’t cry. God’s got this. Ummm...no thank you.
