Super-cheesy, an easy quick read. Brainless fun. Lots of graphic sex (of course).

P.S. One of the few romance novels with great sex.

I haven't read a book about Vikings for several years and if honest haven't read a lot of historical fiction recently but something about this book appealed to me and I'm so glad that I downloaded it . This is not your ordinary romance no this story has substance and makes the reader stop and think. If looking for a book worth investing your time in then you could do a lot worse as this author tackles the sticky issue of infidelity and arranged marriages in a most unusual way.

3.5 stars. We could have used a little more Viking RAWRRRness here (mentions of praying to Thor and Freya weren't enough to satisfy my cravings), but I'll take any little crumb I can get while I'm waiting for season 2 of the show Vikings to come back on the air.

While To Tempt a Viking could possibly be read as a stand-alone, I'd recommend picking up book 1 of the series first in order to get the full impact. I don't know if the back story of Elena and her husband will resonate as strongly if you

Well it is no secret I am a huge fan of Michelle Willingham books and she never ceases to amaze me. I just finished this book bcoming from me who has loved all her books that really something. This book is a bit darker in a way as it touches a couple subjects you rarely see in historical romance these days infertility and children with special needs. OMG this book is really wonderful as having close friends with children with spec
I can't bring myself to read this book after book 1. So no rating.

I didn't like Elena from the first book and Ragnar, dude, thou shall not lust after your best friend's wife. Usually when this trope happens the best friend is conveniently dead. In this case, he just fell in love with someone else in book one. I don't get why the writer wanted to write it this way. I am so confused. So does the married couple love each other or not? Is the marriage a bad one or not? And how is it romantic that s
I picked this up on a spur of a moment. Not knowing if I would enjoy it at all. Usually I do not read historical romance and I do not read the type that involves Scottish, Irish or Viking. If only because the covers are so insulting. I was intrigued with this and took a chance.

This is a story of a man who is in love with his best friend's wife. It is also a story of a couple who were wedded as part of an arranged marriage and are not happy. But it is more than just that. This book surprised me w
Very good book with several unusual issues for a historical romance - biggest is that not all arranged marriages work out and the way it has affected four people. Also a large part is the effect that child abuse has on the adult's life, infertility, and a child with special needs. I loved the depth of emotion as both Elena and Ragnar have to deal with the twists and turns of their lives. This is the sequel to To Sin With a Viking, in which Elena's husband Styr was captured by an Irish woman and ...more

To Tempt a Viking.. Now there's a challenge in and of itself. But author Michelle Willingham writes a wonderful story about making the hard choices and does it brilliantly. Honestly, I was predisposed to dislike this book, it is book two in her Forbidden Viking Series and after feeling slightly ambivalent about book one..

The entire premise is based on what happens when an arranged marriage goes wrong? When the love is lost or nev

This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I enjoyed it. I am not a history buff, so I have no idea how accurate the characters and the scenarios were, but I really liked that the prose was understandable and clear. I have read a similar historical romance before but trying to pronounce the words written in a heavy accent was rather tedious. No problem here.

I liked Ragnar and Elena in this story. Although I usually prefer more assertive heroines, I do b

This was my first Michelle Willingham book and she has blown me away. This is the second book in the Forbidden Vikings series and I read it as a stand alone and I am now going to go back and read book one, To Sin with a Viking because I am hooked. I need to know Styr's story. To Tempt a Viking takes historical romance to the next level. The passion, conflict, heartache, and trials that Elena and Ragnar face can so easily be applied to modern times as well. This is not a sweetly romantic historic ...more
This is going to be short... It's new years eve and i've already tapped into the bubbly, just keep that in mind. ha!

To Tempt a Viking is the second book in the Forbidden Viking series by Michelle Willingham. I'll admit that having loved the Vikings Series on TV has spurred me to want to read more about this time period and so far this series has been great (don't let the covers fool you). The writing is deep and layered. The characters are interwoven in a way that you want to know more about the

I've been waiting for this book from the minute I finished To Sin With A Viking (Styr and Caragh's story), where we first meet Elena and Ragnar. I was curious to see how MW would spin the tale of a wife(Elena) falling for a man (Ragnar) who is not her husband (Styr) while her husband is still alive! Well, she spun it quite well!! Right from the beginning you can feel Ragnar's aching love for Elena. With her being married to his best friend she is definitely OFF LIMITS. Elena's angst is just as b ...more

I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I must admit that Viking romances are one of my guilty pleasures. I think if most women are honest they would admit there is something romantic about being swept away by an honorable warrior, hell bent on protecting their honor, and a bit too wild to tame. I realize this is most assuredly not the most PC comment I could make, but come on! The braided hair, the rock-hard muscles, the long broadsword (cough, cough—pun intended), and

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.
The time period this book is set around is, I'm guessing about 800-1000 CE, since the scene is set in and around Ireland. The author doesn't really say, that would have been helpful from the beginning.
The characters are alright. Nothing really to pull your heartstrings over, or make me emotionally invested in them. Ragnar is your typical alpha male, who overcomes all sorts of pain and adversity by becoming even more o

After reading the beginning, it sounded familiar. I had read the first book in this series on netgalley and this was the second book. Rag nor is in love with his best friends wife, Elena. While coming ashore from a long sail and three days without sleep her husband Styr is captured and she is taken by the Danes. Rag nor follows and doesn't leave her side. After escaping the Danes they are stranded for awhile together and do many things for survival since Ragnor was wounded. Eventually Styr finds ...more

I was really looking forward to this one, it's the second book in her Forbidden Vikings series. I liked that we got to see Elena's side of the story. She's not my favorite Heroine ever, but I loved the Hero Ragnar. Man did I feel for him in this one, you couldn't help but root this guy. The love he feels for Elena even after all these years and her marriage to his best friend. The story was good, lost me a little in the middle. The ending and epilogue made up for anything that was a little off. ...more

I was already a big fan of Michelle's before I read To Tempt a Viking because I'd read To Sin With a Viking, the first book in the Forbidden Vikings series, and loved it. I actually couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book! To Sin With a Viking first introduces Ragnar and Elena, the hero and heroine, as well as Styr and Caragh. The twist to this series is that Styr and Elena are married, but not happily. Michelle does an amazing job of showing how these characters struggle with their fat ...more

As I predicted, I enjoyed this book more than its predecessor. Personally, I feel this book was more complex than the previous one. To Sin with a Viking seemed more fairy-tale like whereas To Tempt a Viking was grittier and deeper, which is a more fitting tone for vikings.

Willingham returns to her typical archetypes of the strong but broken heroine and the violent-for-a-reason hero. I thoroughly enjoy this combination. I have a soft spot for warriors, and I love reading about them betting broke

I couldn't wait to read this second book in the Forbidden Vikings series by Michelle Willingham and I'm not a little bit disappointed. These are the first books I read by this author and she is already becoming one of my favorites of the genre historical romance.
Her premise in this series had been clear from the beginning, at the base of these stories there isn't the classic love story of a couple, but what can happen between two people after the failure of an unhappy marriage, the discovery of

This book didn't grab me unfortunately. There was a huge amount of guilt threaded through the whole thing and that prevented me from really engaging with the characters.

I did like the relationship between the female lead and her adopted son.

A solid story with a well paced plot to hold your interest. Both character's were likeable. Elene is strong, brave and feminine and Ragnar strives to balance his love for Elena with honour. Amidst all there are situations and villains a plenty to keep you on your toes. I really liked this book.

Would've liked this more if it wasn't for the rape-y scene towards the end of the book. Just because it was by the female love-interest, doesn't make it any less disgusting.

This is an odd book, but in a good way that only becomes better as it goes along. I was startled to realize (despite the description) this book was about the “wrong” couple, meaning that Elena is already married and to Ragnar’s best friend. What made it so good was the way the characters fought to be honorable despite the situations they were thrust into and that fact that none of them were villains. They were thrown into circumstances that set them

I really liked the first book to this series, so I was expecting a lot from the companion novel. And, it definitely met my expectations! To Tempt a Viking was a fantastic historical romance that I really enjoyed. I really liked this book.

This book starts off in the same place that book 1 started and shows what happened to Ragnar and Elena while Styr was captured. Then, about 1/3 of the way through, it catches up and starts on Elena's story, right after she divorced Styr. And, of course, after ge

Following on from To Sin with a Viking, author Michelle Willingham continues to explore the idea of arranged marriages that don't work despite the willingness of the couple to make it succeed, and what happens when they meet their soul mate.
We are also given richer insights into the Viking culture and history during this time period, into infertility, into customs including fostering and adoption, divorce proceedings, and thraldom.

The events in this book overlaps with the first so you will want to read the first before you read this one. The heroine is taken captive and the warrior who has loved her from a distance must rescue her. They become stranded together and feelings betw
