And she thought facing a firing squad was bad…

When archaeologist Mara Garrett traveled to North Korea to retrieve the remains of GIs lost in combat, she never imagined she’d be arrested, convicted of spying, and sentenced to death. Her only hope is Curt Dominick, the powerful, ambitious, and infuriatingly sexy US attorney prosecuting her uncle, a former vice president of t

OMG, this is one of my favorite new to me authors of 2017

Really, it is exciting! After many a slump book, falling into this one...winner!

Series: Oh yea and I have them all in my TBR pile

Sexy times: Twice. Straight up business. Don't be scared.

Plan on reading more by the author: obvs

Mara is over in N Korea to retrieve the remains of a soldier (don't ask, just read the book, really) when things go south, as you can imagine they would go south in, of all places, North Korea. She's take

It is an absolute pleasure to write this review. What a pleasant surprise. I received this ARC from the author and publisher via Netgalley. I was curious at the premise of a American being convicted for crimes in North Korea. I assumed that it would have political intrigue, drama and suspense. This book delivers - in spades. It is a wonderful balance of tight, tension-filled action and hot romance.

The story: The former Vice President is in a lot of trouble. He has been indicted for inf

Usually the second book in a series is weaker than the first. NOT in this case!!! If possible it is even better!!!

Ms. Grant's writing style is fenomenal!!! I loved every page of this book! There's never a boring moment. Never a weak action. Never a contradiction! It's simply PERFECT!

Mara is a woman in big, big trouble and the worst thing is that she doesn't know why! who want to kill her? And why? She's struggling with everything that is happening to her and she deosn't know whome to belie

Gripping from beginning to end. This fast paced action thriller snags you from the first chapter and doesn’t let go until the very last page.

When you read an enormous amount of suspense books you tend to run into the same story, different author. I can honestly say I have never read the things that were depicted in this book before. I don’t consider this a spoiler as its in the blurb but with an opening of the heroine, Mara Garrett, being on trial in North Korea for spying then being sentence t

Total edge-of-your seat action with a main couple whose admiration for each other grows through their ordeal. Really, really good and I've discovered a new series to follow. For those of you who like smart, logical stories, with romance and action-suspense I really recommend this.

As someone who enjoys both romance and thrillers, I used to read romantic suspense, thinking it would satisfy both yens. Sadly, I drifted away from it, tired of the cliched tropes and relentless sameness. Body of Evidence satisfies everything I was yearning for in the genre. It’s fresh and sharp and moves like gangbusters.

I unabashedly loved this book. Smart, smooth writing. Real jeopardy set against a fascinating, believable political background, and the stakes keep climbing with every twist.
Overly complicated and the phone sex scenes went on too long.

The second book in this series is just as good, maybe better than the first. WOW! Just WOW! The book opens with Mara Garrett in a North Korean prison. She's awaiting execution. And things just get more exciting from there.

Why is Mara in prison? Well, she's not really sure. Oh, she realizes she was way to close to the DMZ, but she was between a rock and a hard place. A member of her team suddenly went rogue and she knew she had to get away from him. By the time she stopped running she was at the

Mara Garrett is not just any JPAC lead archeologist – she’s the niece of a former US Vice President which means she is generally kept from known unstable environments, but when something happens to the lead archeologist going to North Korea she is substituted and sent in. She is not aware that she was sent there by her ex-fiancé’s father intentionally to retrieve a piece of the crash site that would change the way the US interacts with Korea and maybe even set-off WWIII. Can Mara’s escort, the o ...more

4 Action packed Stars!!

Body of Evidence had me hooked in the very beginning! I absolutely enjoyed this book. I mean by 11% in, we had a North Korean firing squad, a murder, a plane explosion, and we were just getting started!

Mara was rescued at the last possible minute before a firing squad by Curt the man on the cover of Time magazine. But what Mara and Curt don't know is that she is only being rescued from one hell to walk into another. I don't want to give to much plot away, but I loved how m

Body of Evidence was started off in a gripping manner, and stayed action packed throughout the story. It was a good balance of romance and suspense. I really liked the main characters, and thought the storyline was intriguing.

Mara Garrett is rescued from a North Korean firing squad by Curt Dominick, the US Attorney who is prosecuting her uncle for crimes. As they embark up on their journey to return to the U.S., it is soon clear that someone is trying to prevent Mara's safe return. As the suspen

I read this out of order, and there was absolutely no problem starting the "Evidence" series with this fabulous book.

The first scene gripped me with the details of its North Korean prison setting, one of the most unusual openings I've read, and the pacing stayed fast from there. I liked all the setting choices - and really felt like I went with the characters everywhere they went.

I'm a former lawyer, and the courtroom and legal stuff was, in my opinion, extremely well done. It also didn't take

Another great romantic suspense from Rachel Grant! Body of Evidence is fast paced and riveting and the subject matter is very interesting from mercenaries to retrieval of servicemen lost in combat. This book like the first, Concrete Evidence, has such a great story that is never just a rehash of anything I've read before.

I can't wait to read many more books by this author!

A good read!

This is a gripping story, plenty of detail, BUT, it's obviously written by a woman! Those sex scenes. Her poor husband, so much to live up to!

I really enjoyed the story line in this book. When US Attorney Curt Dominick is sent to North Korea as envoy to rescue Mara Garret from a firing squad sparks fly between them. Curt wants Mara to testify in the case against her Uncle. As they are flying home they stop in Hawaii to refuel. When an attempt on their life happens they have to figure out a way to get to DC alive. This book moves at a fast clip and kept me interested until the author seemed to be more concerned with describing sex scen ...more

This story started intense and didn't stop to the end of the book, action, suspense, tension, drama, it's all in there and a slow burn attraction between Curt and Mara that builds and tantalises the reader almost to the end of the book, but it's worth it. Great story line, so intriguing. Absolutely recommend Rachel's books, diving into the third straight away.

Body of Evidence. Evidence Series #2. Rachel Grant

Arc supplied via Netgalley.

Back in the Dark Ages (OK, pre kindle when it was library, charity shops and Amazon paperbacks for my reading materials..) I used to read mostly thrillers and historical novels. Kindle taught me that romance had moved on since mums M&B books of the 70's, and there was a huge section for fiction readers of many different genres. I've read very few thrillers since, but was caught by the write up and sample of this book a

The second book in the Evidence series, Body of Evidence, begins with the heroine, archaeologist Mara Garrett, facing a firing squad in North Korea. Oh my goodness, my heart about stopped as she walked blindfolded to her final sentence, and only began to beat again when U.S. Attorney Curt Dominick (from Concrete Evidence) arrived.

Curt flexed his negotiating skills a bit to help Erica in Concrete Evidence as Lee's best friend, but that was nothing to going up against the North Korean leader with

Now, I am somewhat late to the Rachel Grant party. Story of my life! But with Rachel’s books, I’m finding that its definitely a case of “better late than never”.

I read the first book in the evidence series (Concrete Evidence) some time ago. I put this book on the TBR list and then got….distracted. I was reminded that I needed to read it when the author tweeted about a price reduction, and immediately downloaded.

Now when someone says that a book is a page turner, the cynic in me snorts a little.

WOW. This book is getting a prime place on my keeper shelf. Heartily recommend it for a gripping romantic suspense from beginning to end. I read this solidly in 5 hours. “Body of Evidence” was a pleasure to read from beginning to end. Within two chapters Mara Garrett faced a firing squad, rescued, and experienced sparks with the handsome U.S. attorney Curt Dominick, even at this point of the story, the pace did not slow down. Murders, conspiracy and stealth operations plunged the reader deeper into the endangered lives of Mara and Curt. The long tentacles of a vast organization seemingly endless continued to advance the story quickly maintaining its pace.

Body of Evidence is the second book of the Evidence series but can also be read as a stand alone.

This book was thrilling, suspenseful, and will knock your socks off with a sizzling sexual tension that consumes the story and the whitty characters that take center stage. Mara is a petite woman with tough as nails inner strength. Curt is the man who saved her from death by firing squad and is also the prosecutor trying to put her uncle behind bars. When Mara and Curt escape one too many attempts o

Awesome, fantastic, fast paced, international political intrigue, hot romance-on-the-run. This book could have been ripped from the headlines in its' subject matter. Rachel Grant is a wonderful new author and is a must read for me.

Mara Garrett is an archeologist with a group that recovers the remains of American servicemen who have been left behind in war torn countries. It is noble work she has undertaken as a memorial to her grandfather who was one of those men who has not been returned from

I was fortunate enough to win this book as a First-Reads Giveaway book. The description of the book was enought to make me sign up to win it...and I was glad I did. As a fan of conspiracy theories, mysteries, and romance, this book delivered on all aspects. The way the characters, Mara and Curt, meet based on a conspiracy Curt is in the mist of solving (although he doesn't know it till he meets Mara) and the mystery on why and how these two characters are brought together, is enough to keep the ...more
