Is it possible to have a soulmate who isn’t your lover? Did you ever wonder what it was like to love someone with all your heart without being in love? Find out in Jealousy. Two best friends, a straight woman and a gay man, struggle to find someone to love as much as they love each other who can handle their intense bond.
When Heather Cooper married Peter, she thought that she’d finally found someone who could handle the inseparable bond she shares with her gay best friend, Justin Perrotta. It’s only a matter of time, however, before jealousy rears its ugly head and Peter’s true feelings emerge. He starts drinking and his erratic behavior threatens their marriage.
Burned by an ex-boyfriend, Justin refuses to open his heart to love again. Wild relationships and one-night stands leave him lonely and unfulfilled, even though he won’t admit it. He finds love when he least expects it, but his fear of commitment threatens to ruin the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
In this unique read, the reader gets two separate romances Heather’s (m/f) and Justin’s (m/m) and their friendship, which is the real romance.

Wow....and not in a good way. First of all, did a third grader write this? Jenna you need an editor and class in creative writing. I almost dnf this one. Horrible... If you like books with no character development or background story, littered with grammatical errors, unrealistic story line, and a VERY weak ass heroine, this one's for you.
Heather and Justine do not have a healthy adult relationship. They act like petulant five year olds. I actually felt sorry for Peter, Heather' s first husband, for all the crap she put him through. I don't condone domestic violence, but I wanted to punch her in the face multiple times in this book. I would've left her and moved on.
Justin is her gay boyfriend in this book, and every cliche thing this author could write about on the subject she did. With the honey' s, sweeties, and babies comments. Please.....just because someone's gay doesn't men they act or speak that way.
This book was boring and drones on. I found myself skimming just to finish and see how it ended. Unfortunately, quite predictable, and uneventful. Don't waste your time and money. Be leary of five star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads because a lot of people recieve free arcs WITHOUT honest reviews which does nothing for the authors. They need honesty to prevent reviews like this not bullshit reviews just to have more free scraps thrown their way. Rant over.
I've loved this authors previous books. I feel myself getting sucked right in and this story was no different.
I loved the main characters Heather and Justin. Justin is Heathers gay best friend. They've been friends for years. Really didn't like Peter, Heathers husband.
Can these two find happiness?
Sorry I can't give too much away without spoilers. Let me just say I read this in one sitting. Unputdownable. Looking forward to seeing what's next for this author.
Jealousy is like no book I have read before. It was fun, different, exciting, and sweet. I definitely agree it’s like a modern day Will & Grace.
Heather & Justin were childhood friends; Heather was always there for Justin and vice versa. When boys picked on Justin for being gay Heather was there for him. They needed each other and still depended on another as adults. Heather and Justin have their own significant others as adults but they always seemed to be closer to together then they were with their partners.
I was surprised by how emotional the book was, I was expecting it be a bit more fun but I actually liked that it was emotional. It brought a lot to the story and it allowed me to feel connected to the characters more. Jealously was well written; I liked that the story focused more on the special bond between Heather and Justin then romantic relationships. I didn’t always agree with their actions towards their partners but at the end they had each other and that is who they needed the most.
I give Jealously 3.5 Stars.

3.5. Enjoyable read about Justin, who's gay, and his best friend Heather, who are both looking for that special someone who will not get jealous of their relationship. At the beginning, Justin's long time boyfriend leaves him over his jealousy of Heather, while she's married. It quickly becomes apparent that she married the wrong guy. After her husband gets violent with her, Heather does leave him, and finds love with someone else. In the meantime, Justin finds love with her nurse after she was in a horrific car accident. The story ends up spanning about 12 years of their lives, documenting their dual quests for love and their HEAs.
I had problems with the time jumps, it wasn't always clear how much time passed within and between chapters. also, I wish there was a bit more focus on the relationship development with their S.O.s, not on their friendship. You are told they love their partners, but it's not always clearly shown. Though as the book progresses, this aspect does improve. One final thing, while Heather gets a solid HEA, Justin's is only implied.

-- MY THOUGHTS -- Judging a Book by it's Cover: The cover design looks more voyeuristic or menage than gay. Nice blend of colors. Captures the eye. Based solely on the synopsis, this is not something I would normally read since it references two television shows I have never had any desire to watch... at all. Looking Deeper: "Jealousy is the grave of affection." - Mary Baker Eddy Do not expect a typical boy meets girl (or boy meets boy) and they magically fall in love and live happily ever after story here. This is more of a "you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince" story. Justin and Heather have been best friends since childhood. Growing up they were inseparable. Today, the bond they share is unbreakable. The story takes you into Heather's life, married to apathetic and snippish Peter, who seems to put his family-owned store before his wife at all times. It also takes you into Justin's life, after a long-term relationship ends, through some meaningless flings, an emotional support boy toy, a nurse, etc.. It delves into the relationship and bond that the two have and how one another's other relationships are impacted by it. It is not at all the light piece of fluff that I had imagined, which does not mean there aren't moments of levity. Infidelity and severe injury are just a few of the deeper issues that this story touches upon. It's hard to rate a "lead male/female" so, I'll start by saying that I really liked the character of Heather. She's warm, compassion, and accepting and tolerant. But, she's also human, capable of a short, fiery temper and making potentially disastrous mistakes. Peter is a true douche. I did not like him one single bit from the time he was introduced into the story. Justin is a good guy, very likable, very human capable of so many emotions and not afraid to show any of them. The men they end up with (which I won't name, as that's part of the journey to be experienced) are both amazing individuals, truly lovable. The dialogue and interaction is mostly believable, a bit drama-ridden. The plot is multi-layered creating depth and dimension. Ms. Galicki has a style of writing that creates a smooth flowing story, very nice. It's strange though because although the writing is smooth and the plot is complex, packed full of content and is extremely easy -and enjoyable- to read, it seemed that my Kindle's progress percentage crawled at a pace that was at odds with the experience. Just when things start going well for our characters, Ms. Galicki throws another hurdle at them, often bigger and/or uglier than the last! There were highs and lows, laughter and tears, it was an emotional experience I'm glad I chose to follow through with. There was virtually NO predictability. The story as a whole was concluded wonderfully with all loose ends tied up neatly. The only questions that remained in my mind pertained to "the accident" and wondering the outcome of the responsible party. Oh, and what the hell Peter's underlying issues truly were. I really, truly enjoyed this book. It was nothing like I'd expected it to be (other than drama-laden), but plot-wise - it was not superficial fluff like I had envisioned and I'd like to thank Ms. Galicki for inviting me to experience her story.

Loved this book!!! This book was so different because of the relationship between Heather and Justin. They are best friends and in the beginning when they were younger there were kids that would pick on or beat up Justin because he was gay. Heather was feisty and would always protect him. Their bond was so different and special. The way they loved each other at such a young age moved me. I knew right away that their love for each other was nothing beyond being best friends or brother and sister. The best way to describe it is that they were soul mates. They completed each other.
However, their closeness was a big turn off for their significant others. The guys Heather dated couldn't understand the relationship between her and Justin. When they would get jealous and couldn't accept Justin she would break up with them. The same for Justin. His love life was basically the same. Nobody comprehended the closeness between Heather and Justin. For example, they saw each other everyday, talked to each other everyday, and they always lived near each other. They were inseparable and to some people that was weird.
At the start of the book,Heather is married to Peter who in the beginning was okay but towards the end I wanted to punch him in the face. Once you read about Peter then you will understand why. As for Justin I felt bad for him because he was always getting hurt by guys that were not worthy of him. Eventually they both meet somebody they want to love but scared to because Heather and Justin know that their relationship is always a deal breaker. I loved the direction the book went because it only showed that the love between Justin and Heather was unbreakable. There is a reason for everything. Sometimes this is hard to understand but life is complicated.
Eventually, both Heather and Justin meet somebody but it was a matter of time where you are left wondering if this person would bolt out the door because they couldn't accept the relationship between them. I'm happy with the outcome at the end, and loved all the characters introduced in the book.
This was a wonderful story and I will read it again some day because it really moved me. I'm glad I was provided a book for an honest review. If not then I would have missed out on a great book.

This is the first of Jennas books that I have read, I have to tell you that I loved the concept behind the story and all the characters were very strong and as a reader I got to know all of them, felt their guilt, pain and love. This book has so many twist and turns and Highs and lows that you won’t know weather to laugh or cry along with them, there are a lot of M/M and F/M sex scenes which won’t disappoint and a lot of childish behavior from both friends that I personally became frustrated with That being said….for me there was just too much info/fillers I personally could have gone without but don’t let this deter you from reading, this is my personal opinion and not everyone’s is the same
This book has many layers that are pealed away and it touches on many different subjects which people face in everyday life. The writing is very believable and their friendship is beautiful.
This story is not your typical romantic love story between a couple this is a love story between best friends who would do anything for each other they are soul mate, they are inseparable, loyal and their love for one another is unconditional.
‘Jealousy’ tells the story of how Heather and Justin’s bond affects their relationships with their partners.
Heather and Justin have been best friends since they were toddlers, Heather has always known Justin is gay he never had to tell her this or explain himself to her. For Heather acceptance of her Gay best friend and their relationship is a deal breaker they come as a pair you won’t get one without the other.
Heather married her husband Peter and like any marriage they have their ups and downs, but something changes for Peter and this leads to the relationship becoming volatile. Justin goes through a horrible break up which leads him to question what he wants in the future and will he learn to love again.
Jealousy was a novel of particular interest to me as, in my past incarnation as an actress & singer I was best friends with 2 gay men. And these relationships are not as easy as they might appear. This novel reminded me of some of the work those relationships required, and some of the pain they caused. In Jealousy Jenna Galicki has crafted a tempestuous and romantic novel about two best friends – Justin and Heather. Throughout this novel you come to know these two as they go through romantic and sexual relationships, experience highs, and lows and as they struggle to keep their friendship despite jealousy in themselves, as well as their loved ones. Heather was always Justin’s friend – and defender when his homosexuality attracted bullies. Justin has always relied on her to help him through life’s traumas, including romantic liaisons gone wrong. She’s always been the strong one even when her own life has been difficult. Now things are getting complicated for Heather. There is trouble in her marriage. Her best friend Justin is falling in love and her husband is not happy with their closeness. Justin is jealous of lovers’ affection for Heather. Heather’s choices raise Justin’s jealousy, too. And Justin’s yearning for a serious relationship is hampered by his own lusts and insecurities. Jealousy is, in fact, the underlying theme of this novel which explores the human need for companionship, intimacy and emotional sustenance, and whose characters challenge society’s notions of what love is – or can be. Tumultuous, dark, humorous, and very sexy (F/M and M/M), Jealousy is a novel that hits every emotion and keeps you reading until the end of these characters’ journeys.
Heather and Justin are two peas in a pod. They are best friends for life. They would do anything for one another. When Heather married Peter she saw a side of him, that no wife would like to see.
Justin who was bullied while a child always turned to Heather. She was his rock, his savior. While they grew up and their lives went different ways they always were within minutes from each other. I call that dedication. Don't get me wrong having a best friend is great. Living with in 2-5 minutes of each other is cool too. However I would need a break once in a while. Breathing room, I need me and my spouse time.
Justin who was a playboy going from one, one night stand to the next thought he found love. But it was only infatuation, lust, a crush. He did actually find his soul mate. The one and only. No it wasn't Heather.
Heather who went through some life changes herself found out exactly how much Justin would do for her. It is sad that Peter wasn't the one who was there like Justin was. Just goes to show that Peter really didn't care and that jealousy got in the way. He was jealousy of Justin. I swear Justin and Heather were attached at the hip. If you can find a boyfriend/girlfriend who understands your relationship with your best friend then you got it made. Heather and Justin did find just that.
Heather and Justin are soul mates, best friends, as close as any two people could possibly be. They've loved each other since they were kids and are virtually inseparable. Too bad he's gay, and their love is purely platonic. Join them on their journey, battling jealousy from the men in their lives as well as their own. Will either of them ever find a man who can handle their relationship and not be threatened by it?
OMG I loved this book! This author has the ability to pull the reader in and really made me care about the characters. Feeling for them with all the trials and obstacles they came across. I love a book that sends me on an emotional roller-coaster ride! Anger, frustration, joy, sadness, shock! This book had it all! If I gave partial stars, this book would probably get a 4.75, so I'm rounding up and giving it a 5. I laughed, gasped, scowled, and was sad. The only thing this book didn't do is actually make me cry, but there were moments that it was close. Takes some serious skill from an author to get a reader so into the book, that they are that emotional, so well done Jenna Galicki! I hope to read more from this author in the future!
Received this book as a ARC from the author Jenna Galicki, in exchange for an honest review of the book. This is my review and my opinion. This book is a work of amazing talent. It is full of emotion, trails, love & deception. You have a a young women by the name of Heather who married a man by the name of Peter. When they married he understood that with her as part of her family came her best friend Justin. ( Justin and Heather have been friends all through school. They have seen each other through lots of bad times) Any who-- Justin is a gay and he has a boyfriend/lover. Well I am not gonna tell ya any more -- You just need to read this BOOK!!! See if I was to tell ya any more then I would give away the best parts of the story. I can and will tell you this Everyone is Jealous of someone or thing. Now is Heather jealous of her best friend Justin's boyfriends or is her hubby , Peter a rotten egg. The character, the way the story is told everything in this book is just so amazing . The story just jumps right off the page at you. Author has out done herself with this book. look for my review!!!! Get a copy today!!!!!!!" I give it a rating of 20 stars !!!!
What a beautiful love story. The friendship between Justin and Heather was so special. The dialogue was beautifully written and the emotions felt by all the characters were so real. "Jealousy" is not your typical romance book, it is the story of a close and loving friendship between two people who met as young children and had been inseperable ever since. Their's is not a sexual relationship, it's far more than that, they are sole mates. This poses many problems for their personal relationships with others, jealousy and the lack of understanding puts a terrible strain on relationships. That is until they each find their perfect match.
I highly recommend this wonderful book. For those of you who are hesitant to read m/m intimacy, don't let that stop you from reading this book. Ms Galicki has written this with such tenderness and beauty you will not be offended and find it hard to read.
This was a story of two people who have a bond just as strong now as adults as they had as children. Heather has always been Justin's protector. Bullied for being gay all through his childhood, Heather was the one person who has loved him unconditionally. The problem is the significant lovers in their lives who can not understand the deep connection the two of them share. The journey the two embark on to find the happiness and acceptance they so desperately are looking for is what this book is about. The ups and downs of Heather and her husband Peter who struggles because of the closet of her relationship with Justin and Justin dealing with the break up with Dave because of the relationship is the road to a happy ending. A really good story with laughs and tragedy along the way.
Great book and is so down to earth, I loved it ... There was times I hated peter for being so mean at times but this story is probably as close to a real live story as there can be ... You honestly never know what someone has gone thru in there life .
When I was offered the chance to read and review Jealousy I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into. To be honest all I knew was that Jenna Galicki was an author I had never read and my friend LaDonna was very, very insistent that I had to read her. So I said yes. I knew from LaDonna that Jenna was well known for her rocker series. That was what I was expecting. While I was extremely wrong, Jealousy had no rockers, what I got instead was beyond comparison. What did I get? I've been trying to get the perfect wording for that question and have failed miserably. There are almost no words for what Jealousy is. I rarely say that a book is one of the best in whatever year it might be, or that it is my favorite for the year of such and such. So please understand when I say that Jealousy is one of the best love stories I have read in years, to me that is a HUGE thing. Yet I have to say just that. Jealousy is not your typical love story. It is not a romance where the boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl end up together (while that does happen it is not the story of those romances, they just happen). You don’t watch them fall in love and end up married with 2.5 children. Jealousy is a love story in the purest of ways. It's the love story of two best friends. It is a book that lets you experience how two soul mates don't need sex or romance to know that they will always be together. Galicki has given her readers one of the most epic love stories of all time. It is straight from the heart and it includes all the ups and downs of any true love story. Her main characters will pull at all of your heart strings as you watch two best friends hold each other up, fight for the other, fight with each other, and defeat all odds. Jealousy and Galicki's talent will stick with me for years to come. I can not recommend this book enough. It is truly a 10 out of 5 stars. I will definitely say it is very likely that this will be my favorite book of 2020.
This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect. This story line is just as this title suggests its about, jealousy.
Heather is married to Peter but things are not easy going and sometimes are very tough. Heather has always been there for her childhood best friend Justin and has always had his back to take care of him and they both lean on each other like friends do. Heather has a best friend in Justin and they are both extremely close to each other and share a very strong bond together. The relationships that these two have, there partners always get very jealous. Justin's relationship was a long term one that has come to an end and she is there for him. Justin refuses to let his heart feel love again. Justin is gay but any relationships that they try and have with other people they are still a little threatened by him and what they share.
This book goes through the life of trying to find love, the friendship that these two souls share together. It has very volatile relationships, emotional scenes and a few twists. They both go through a very lot. There are a lot of ups and downs for both of these characters. This book is a tad predictable and I felt like I could sort of guess what was going to happen in the end. This story line wasn't really for me this time.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released in February 2020.
I haven't read a book by this author before. I plan on reading more after this one. Heather and Justin's friendship was beyond the normal. These two had a bond that was created by a higher power. Their childhood of being bullied and beat up by kids in the neighborhood only cemented this bond. When Heather's mother died she made Justin promise to always be there for Heather but she had nothing to worry about. Justin would die to save Heather. After years of being with men that just didn't understand the bond these two shared, Justin meets Kenny. Having his heart broken after he thought he had his soul mate, Justin wasn't ready to commit to Kenny. After a string of one night stands Justin longed to have Kenny back. Heather was married to Peter for 6 years and she wasn't happy. She started having an affair that almost ruined everything for her. Peter was jealous of Justin and it wasn't getting any better. Justin and Heather just want to find love and happiness and have the ones they love accept the bond the two of them have. There's years of drama these two go through but the story ends with them both getting what they've been search for. A tearful and joyful read.
From the moment they were born they were inseparable. They grew up together and the bond they shared was strong, so strong that it could never be broken. Heather was the rock that Justin needed when he was bullied and beat up for being a gay man in a straight society. She took him to Tai Kwan Do, he learnt to defend himself but still Heather was there for him. They faced adversity from partners who couldn't understand their friendship. When Heather married Peter he was different, he accepted the deep love between Justin and her. Heather relied on Justin for everything, he was the first person she called, Justin was the same could their partners really understand this bond. David couldn't, and Justin's heart was broken, Heather was there for him and picked up the pieces of his broken heart when his lover walked out of his life. Would they be able to continue a normal life with this relationship that was more than just love between them and have partners that would not feel threatened by it? A great love story with a difference.
Such an interesting story that I was excited to dive in to. Jenna wrote a complex set of relationships with truth and love as a base. I connected with how close and strong Heather and Justin's friendship was. Real life situations and decisions made this a really great read. At times I felt for each others partners and it was really a roller coaster ride of emotions. I like how out of the box this was for me as far as my usual reading. I like pushing my boundaries as a reader and Jealousy is a book that I will think about for a long time.
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read! A fantastic book that has it all! I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for a romance enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own. ¡Great book!
This was a fascinating story, exploring true friendship and love in many forms. The relationship between the two main characters is as joyous and all consuming as any great love affair, and just as destructive when other people’s feelings become involved and hurt. This was a bitter sweet romance with more than one love story at its heart... I received a copy of this book from the author via Quirky Blind Date with a Book
The story of Heather and Justin makes you want to call your best friend. These two are friends since they were babies. They journey through life and love always being there for each other. Justin first finds his partner and it takes Heather a little longer to find her mate. The crucial acceptance of Justin and Heather's very close friendship by their mates made for a very Happily Ever After
This was my second time reading this book. I read it 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. I love the characters. I love that they are flawed and human. I love that we get a full picture of both of Heather's and Justin's lives, individualy and as they intersect. There is something amazingly beautiful about their friendship. I forgot how much I love Jenna's writing style. It's a great read!
Another absolutely wonderful book from this author. Full of love and joy with a little drama thrown in. For me it was the friendship between Heather and Justin that made it special though. A lifetime of love all wrapped up in the pages of this book
I absolutely love the characters in this book. I can definitely see how it would be difficult to find someone who can understand the bond between Heather and Justin. But when they do, it's thr perfect arrangement!!!
It’s rare to find a friendship that lasts a few years let alone a lifetime. People come and go in and out of each others lives so when you find that one true friend you will do anything to protect them and support them. Jealousy is the story of such a friendship.
“I’ll never forget what he want through, and I’ll never stop defending him. I’ll do anything to protect him. I would give my life defending him.”
Heather and Justin have been friends since early childhood. Friend soul mates would be a good way to describe them, that is how close of a friendship they share. Justin is a gay man and Heather his loyal fierce protector. This bond that they share is so strong that it often leads to conflict and jealousy in their personal relationships.
Jealousy was a different story than I am used to reading, it was a love story but of a different kind. Yes, there were some great steamy moments had by both characters, but that wasn’t the focus; friendship and loyalty are what's at the heart of this book . It was about the emotional journey of these two friends and the struggles they face both together and separately with love.
I really enjoyed getting to know both Heather and Justin. I found myself rooting for their friendship while at the same time wishing they would back away from each other just a bit and learn to live without being so co-dependent. I understood why they were so close, but often times felt that they were a bit selfish with their friendship and put it above all other things, even spouses and significant other.
Author Jenna Galicki’s clean writing style made it easy to get a sense of who Heather and Justin are together and separately. I also enjoyed watching them grown in their personal relationships and while I may not have always agreed with some of their choices I did respect how they stuck together and offered support to one another.
Overall Jealousy was a well written, lovely story about friendship, love and life with a satisfying HEA.
*ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review*
When I first started this book I was like ok this is good. Yes there is drama and a lot of childish behaviour but who isn’t like that with their bestie. Justin and Heather are like the best of friends/brother and sister. I love love their relationship so much. I was yelling at Heather for most of the book to get rid of Peter. And was very confused as to why Justin didn’t speak up more when Peter was an ass when he was around. But I get it now he didn’t want to be put in the middle more then he already was. I yelled when Justin was being a grade A slut lol I wanted him to see his self-worth. And that David never really deserved him. I lovvvvved Tyler’s character sooooo much I just want him to be my bestiest besty! Ohhhh and Dom mmmm I don’t condone what happened but come on that was HOT. Sorry not sorry. Even the second time I was happy she was happy. I know it was wrong she kept it from everyone but come one the girl needed some relief. She had sooo much going on she needed a little light. I wasn’t expecting Kenny and Heather to have hit it off the way they did. I thought for sure there would have been more jealousy there. It was a great match with these 3, I loved that. There is a whole lot of love in my review this time. <3 Oh Nick.. I have nothing but love for the man. He accepts and loves without condition this makes my heart happy. • There were so many ups and downs and I wasn’t sure I like the book but then I took a look at the whole story and it smacked me in the face… Hello the freaking title is JEALOUSY! DUH… Lmao So yeah when you look at it like that it makes total sense. Sometimes I got to wonder about myself. So this is a total 5 star read for me. This this made me tear up, best line of the whole book in my opinion. “I already found my one true love, 42 years ago.” OMG right! I want more of this book!!!! So it’s going to be a re-reading kind of book for me.
