A quest for Bigfoot and big love from the New York Times bestselling author of How Hard Can It?“For a good time, read Robyn Peterman!”—Michelle Rowen, national bestselling author A few hard truths . . . Don’t bet on Hasselhoff, Bigfoot might actually exist, and searching for the impossible may lead you to your heart’s desire . . . It’s a big fat hairy deal when I lose yet another bet to my best friend, Rena. Not only do I end up attending Bigfoot meetings with her kooky Aunt Phyllis, I find myself traveling with a band of reality TV, Sasquatch-hunting nut-jobs! Not to mention a suspiciously shady film crew. As if those little nuggets aren’t enough to send me on the express train to Crazytown . . . I stupidly swear off men! Clearly all this would mess up any gal’s social life, but the worst part of the story? The minute I send my libido on vacation, I meet Mitch. Yep, Mitch, the sexiest cop ev-ah. The hottest, best kissing, finest tushied, SINGLE guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d rather be hot on his trail than anything that involves the word Big or Foot. But sometimes what you’re hunting for has been right in front of you all along . . . “Robyn Peterman has this fantastically kooky/dirty/off the wall sense of humor that totally turns my crank . . . If you want/need a slapstick-esque romance with adventure you need to read Size Matters.”—The Book Vixen “Incredibly funny and well written . . . All around it was just a romping good time!”—The Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. I should probably disclaimer that I DNF'd Seduction and Snacks for being too over-the-top for my liking, so I know that there might be a group of people who will devour Size Matters and have a lot of fun with it.
To be fair, Size Matters was funny. I found myself laughing at several of the jokes (and at one fake Mariah Carey). But the humor was trying to be "on" all of the time. I'd rather see a page of good dialogue or action with a great one-liner, rather than line after line of forced humor, especially when the jokes start to repeat themselves over and over. The first few times "Lutheran Jesus, Cardboard Brett Favre, David Hasselhoff, motherhumping assclowns" etc.were mentioned, it was funny...before I got tired of seeing these punchlines recycled multiple times.
Spazzy humor has probably run its course for me.
Trigger Warning : the word "fucktard" is used several times. I know a few of my friends are sensitive to this word, so I figured it was worth a mention.

Motherhumpin' Cowballs!! Size Matters is yet another brilliantly written book by the amazing Robyn! I have yet to read another author's work who compares in any way to Robyn's writing. I continue to learn new words I've never heard before in reading Robyn's books...my vocabulary is growing LOL! Kristy is such a relatable main character in this story...in fact how she relates to people and so wants to make a difference in the lives of others is so me and how I try to live my life. I must mention Mitch. WOW! What a guy! That's all I'll say about him because I don't want to give anything away. The rest of the characters in the story, that you may love or hate, start off seeming like they are from the island of misfits. However, they each have their uniqueness and certainly grew on me and made me care about each one of them! All endearing me more to them while on their quest to find Bigfoot! There were moments I giggled, had a lump in my throat, was on the edge of my seat, worried and happy! I LOVED this book and highly recommend to all. Robyn, you continue to be one of my top favorites...you never fail to deliver. Very well done. Kudos girl!
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW: Review will be posted at www.books-n-kisses.com . This is was fun read. We met Kristy briefly in “How Hard Can It Be” (which was super funny and you really should read) and her best gal pal Rena. But In Size Matters we find out the Kristy has been extremely unlucky in love. Like beyond unlucky in love. Oh and Kristy really should never beat on anything. She is guaranteed to lose. Hence the reason Kristy finds herself driving Aunt Moon-Unit (Yes Moon-Unit) to a month worth of Bigfoot believer meetings. But that is only the start of Kristy’s trouble. Kristy takes yet another beat from her best pal. What is the bet? That she won’t fall head over heels for Jack’s (who is Rena’s boyfriend)best friend and new partner. Kristy knows this a beat that she can’t lose. No way, no how, not ever going to happen. You see Kristy has sworn off dating cops. But then women's shelter she runs is broken into and she comes face to face with the most amazing man she has ever seen. From that moment on things don’t go according to plan. Oh heck the completely and udderly blow up in Kristy’s face.
I love Robyn’s writing style. She is so funny. Her characters are fun and have some of the most colorful language I have ever read. I often wonder where the heck Robyn grow up at to learn such language. If you have not given Robyn’s books a try you really should. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

DNF @ 40%... (no rating because I read less than 50%)
I just want to say that this book isn't all that bad. It's cute and quirky. Well written even if it's a little over the top.
The reason I didn't finish it is one word. Well it's one word that the protagonist uses repeatedly. The word is "f__ktard".
I know a woman who has cerebral palsy. As a child she was called a retard. When I was at school, there was a kid with down syndrome named Scott...like most people with down syndrome he had a gentle heart and was one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. He was called a retard. I knew a guy who was deaf. As a child he was called a retard. My sister who has since passed away had an intellectual disability. She was called a retard.
So yeah, I think "retard" and any word that derives from it should be banished from our lexicons.
This book is all over the place with its cast of crazy characters on a ridiculous search for Bigfoot. Just when things seem like they can’t go anymore off the rails…they do. Amanda Ronconi is fantastic at narrating this outlandish cast of misfits.
Robyn Peterman'sSize Matters is another outrageously zany caper that is just as over-the-top and hilarious as the first book in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series, How Hard Can It Be?. In this outing, after losing a bet to her best friend, Rena, Kristy is forced to take Rena's Aunt Phyllis to her Bigfoot meetings. When the group is chosen for a reality series, Kristy is selected as the (unwilling) host for the show and she, along with a several of the wacky yet lovable members, are off to Duluth to hunt for the big hairy beast.
Size Matters has a motley cast of characters that are lewd and crude but they each sport a heart of gold. Heading up this assorted group is Kristy and boy, is she in midst of a run of bad luck. Having her heart broken by her last cop boyfriend, she is giving dating a vacation when she meets Mitch, an amazingly gorgeous man who is keeping some secrets that might just spell trouble for their relationship.
Kristy has had atrocious luck with men and she is certainly entitled to a few trust issues, but her attraction to Mitch is impossible to resist. They have only just begun secretly (due to another bet with Rena) dating, when she learns he has not been completely truthful with her. The final nail in their relationship coffin is Mitch's inability to tell her details about his super secret law enforcement job.
In the aftermath of another disastrous romance, the hunt for Bigfoot is looking pretty attractive to Kristy. Accompanying her on the reality show (mis)adventure: octogenarian sisters who have driven construction workers to tears, a nose breaking twenty something named Mariah Carey and her psychic sister Boo, the unattractive but kindhearted Rich and rounding out the list of looneytoons, Hugh and Kim, the leaders of the Bigfoot meetings. They enthusiastically embark on their search for Sasquatch, but their suspicions are soon aroused by the producers of the show. But the scariest thing for Kristy? The possibility that she is rethinking her position on Bigfoot's existence and Mitch's unexpected reappearance in her life.
The plot of Size Matters is ridiculous and silly but that is what makes it such a fun read. The dialogue is peppered with crude language that is humorous but it is also a little repetitious. The colorful cast of characters is likable and full of hidden depth. The romance between Mitch and Kristy is deliciously sexy and their sex scenes are scorching hot.
All in all, another delightfully enjoyable read by Robyn Peterman. I am definitely looking forward to the next madcap installment of the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series!
I have been looking forward to Size Matters since I first read HHCIB. This was another winner by Robyn Peterman. I loved Kristy, she was the mostly sane one in a band of psychos (as opposed to Rena from HHCIB who was as psycho as the rest of her band in her book). I really enjoyed Kristy's relationship with Rich, and the hotness with Mitch. It was the best of both worlds. Edith and Mrs C, who you ended up disliking in Book 1, really found their way into your hears by the end of this book. So many hilarious scenes in this book, hard to pick just one. But the visuals of the final scenes were awesome. I will say this, be prepared to laugh a lot, snort laughing. And if you are from the Minneapolis area, well that is just a bonus, because the hot dish references are fantastic!!! Book 3, Candy's book...cannot wait!!!
Size Matters is hilarious. The hero, Mitch is smoking HOT. I highly recommend all of Robyn's books for a laugh.
I love Robyn Peterman's books. They are filled with side-splitting laughter and hot romance. This is the second book in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever After Series. After losing a bet with her best friend Rena, Kristy must escort Aunt Phyllis to all her Big Foot meetings. Her lose quickly becomes unbearable when she is wrangled into going on a Big Foot hunt to create a television show with her Big Foot Group. During a meeting, Kristy meets hunky cop Mitch and instant sparks fly. Unfortunately, Kristy has sworn off cops and has bet her best friend that she will not date Mitch. Not willing to lose another bet, Kristy must stay far away from Mitch.
Eagerly anticipating the next book in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series. Can't wait to see what sort of trouble Robyn Peterman has come up in that crazy mind of hers!
Oh my lovely funny wonderful Robyn Peterman, you have done it again. I laughed out loud more times than I can count, I cried, and I fell madly in love not just with Kristy and Mitch but the whole crazy gang. Loved this story!
Well well, that was one hell of a ride. I now want my own set of wild and crazy friends like Mrs. C and Edith and I can totally be friends with Mariah. Hell wait I think I have own very own Boo friend and my mother and other mother could totally be the old asshat ladies who knit well minus the knitting I'm to afraid they might stab someone.
Loved it, can't wait for the next book. Candace should be another wild and crazy ride.
Robyn Peterman has done it again combining and unforgettable, hysterically, zany story with steamy hot love and incredible sex ;). Don't miss out on this series and it's novellas. You won't be sorry.
Fun fun read! Size Matters is a fun quick(too quick) read that has you laughing out loud more than once. Mitch and Kristy are on a wild ride to romance with a Yeti, 2 crazy ladies, some dysfunctinal sisters and lots of laughs! This book is well worth the read!!!!
OMG this book was hilarious, I was laughing so hard that I started crying at one point. Loved the plot of the book, there was always something interesting going on in the book. I can't wait to read another book by the author.
Warning for the faint of heart: This book is filled with naughty bits and cursing that will make a sailor blush. Wait, is that a warning or an endorsement?
Just as good as the first one. I freaking LURV Robyn Peterman. She's hysterical. If you haven't given one of her ridiculous books a try, you need to. They are so much fun! I highly recommend the audibles. They do a great job at capturing the characters.
"Size Matters" by Robyn Peterman is book two in the "Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters" series. Kristy has sworn off men who are cops or any job related to a cop job. Her friend Rena makes a bet with her about a new guy, Mitch, in town who is friends with Rena's boyfriend, Jack. This was an awesome continuation in this series, and I absolutely love Robyn's humor. My favorite part is when they are in the van, going to look for Bigfoot. Kristy was cracking me up. I also enjoyed how Mitch was trying to show Kristy that not all cops are horrible people, and she was trying to win the bet. I will be reading the next book in this series and can't wait to do so.
I was abso-freaking-lutely HAPPY to do a review for Size Matters. I knew after reading the first few sentences of chapter one I was in for another hilarious riot. Robyn Peterman creativity thrills and AMAZES me! I laughed, I cried, I was even speechless with the variety of words for the female bits. To say I couldn't put this book down is a understatement. Every time I went to put my kindle down to do something, I was smiling, anticipating what would happen next in the book until I couldn't stand it anymore and dived for my kindle again, eagerly devouring the words on the pages.
I really thought Edith and Mrs. C were a real hoot! They seemed so mean yet by the end you actually find out they care..they just prefer hiding it behind a mask of insults (which were hilarious) and meanness. Boo and Mariah were really interesting to get to know. Boo was a psychic and such a tender hearted person and Mariah is a tiny woman with anger issues that tends to solve problems by breaking noses and kneeing testicles. She may sound like a man but when I found out why, I nearly cried. Mitch is another HOT COP that has a fetish with using handcuffs in the most delightful ways on Kristy. I found myself wishing constantly that he was real. He is FREAKING SMOKING HOT! Kristy is a sweet person who runs a homeless shelter and is just as fun as her best friend Rena who ended up falling HARD for Mitch from the moment she meets him. When she is forced to go on a Bigfoot hunt do to a bet she lost, things turn funny and she ends up having a good time, even when she is missing Mitch..but he isn't too far behind.
This was another laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with good, fun, sexy characters, plenty of adventures, and amusing dialogue that will have you rolling on the floor laughing your butt off and the sparks between Mitch and Kristy is out of this world, and the sex is definitely VERY satisfying. I wish I could give this a ten stars but since I am unable to do that I will settle with a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS. Size Matters is one of those books I want to read over and over again just to see if I missed anything. A major MUST MUST MUST READ.
I received this book fromt the author for an honest review.
OMG lemme tell ya this book came at the RIGHT TIME!! i just finished a book that left me totally wrecked. After reading something that gives you the full on ugly cry ya need comedy right?? Well I do anyway and Damn if Robyn's book didnt hit me at the right time.
So this story is an over the top, completely ridiculious story...if you read the blurb and DIDNT get that then you have problems! LOL
Kristy and Rena are totally me and my friends. They make bets that Kristy always looses which in turn makes her to take Rena's aunt "Moon-Unit" to her bigfoot meetings. SNICKERS!! Well Kristy is pretty ok with it because she just found out her boyfriend is a POS so she is sworn off men. Then Rena and her BF Jack tell her about Mitch...Kristy says NO WAY!! Cops are ooooooffffffff my dating posibilities and then guess what? She SEES MITCH!! She knew she was in totaly trouble. Mitch and her have amazing chemsitry and their fun times are GREAT reads!!! Kristy and Mitch are a lot of fun to read and I enjoyed their story alot.
The side story is where you gotta be ready for insane!! Kristy had to take this bizarre group of misfits to search for Bigfoot in Duluth. Kristy only gies it to get money for the Shelter she runs. $50,000 is a lot of money for any charity and Krisyt's charity defo needs it. If you can't handle over the top, you may not like this book but i needed insane and pure silliness. So i enjoyed this book a lot!!
Everyone will tell you how hilarious this book is, so let me tell you something different. Don't get me wrong, this book is by far one of the quirkiest, funniest books I read in a while (probably since How Hard Can it Be by the same author). There were several laugh out loud moments and I came dangerously close to peeing on myself! But what I want to focus on is that in the midst of all of this laughter, Robyn managed to create a character that was more than just endearing. Kristy, our leading lady is someone that I could relate to. Yes, she is funny, but she's more than just a good time. Robyn throughout the book gives us a glimpse into Kristy's painful past and helps us understand why she makes the choices she does. And it's because of this knowledge that when she hurts, we as readers hurt with her. It takes a true talent to create a character that evokes such emotion from a reader. Robyn is one of the few that possesses that talent. So yes, definitely pick this book up if you're looking for a fun romantic read...just don't be surprised if you find your heartstrings being tugged along the way.
The second installment of the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters Series from Robyn Peterman does not disappoint. Size Matters takes us into Kristy's search for love and BIg Foot - yes that ever-elusive creature. She is joined by a group of silly, rowdy, and crazy characters (some of which we know and love from How Hard Can it Be). It is a laugh-out loud ride, but has it's serious side too, after all this is a romance… and at it's core, as kooky as the side kicks maybe, the hero and heroine are dealing with some serious obstacles both in love and in life. It takes a true talent to meld the outrageously funny and witty with real-life and love dilemmas, Peterman does this with perfection. I cannot wait for the next book in this series! For it is sure to be another side-splitting, heart-tugging, happily ever after!
Robyn peterman does it again. I have never laughed do yard then I have in this book. From the knitting dykes to hot sexy man candy Mitch . What is poor Kristy to do . After loosing a bet with her best friend and being dumped by her two timing , Dallas cowboy living married boyfriend . The last thing kristy wants is another man in her life. Enters Mitch the hot sexy DEA agent who instantly gets under Kristys skin . As hard as she tries to stay away from Mitch the more she wants him While filming the reality series about tracking big foot . She falls for Mitch and finds out more about her friends and her man . So if you want a fun fabulous read , take time to read size matters , you will laugh and meet some interesting characters
I listened to this because Amanda Ronconi rocks and is perfectly suited to laugh out loud loveable romance stories. This story at times made me laugh out loud and loved Amanda because when all was said and done I said "What the hell did I just listen to?"
The search for Big Foot, ex-military old ladies, women's shelter, a heroine who compulsively makes bets even though she loses all the time, drug dealers, a lying hero, a brother sister undercover team, an empath. It was just all kinds of weird. The beginning was good because it was a decent story and the ending was an aww HEA but the long middle, aside from the LOL moments, could've been skipped.
I won't read Robyn Peterman again but all in all a decent time killer.
Robyn Peterman has a very unique style of writing, bless her little heart! It is creative and uses humor to help you experience a wide range of emotions while reading this book. Kristy has a heart of gold and Mitch has a butt to die for! What else could you ask for in a couple, bless their hearts! Kristy's adventure to find the elusive Bigfoot brings together a weird group of definitely flawed characters that you can't help but fall in love with as they grow together in solving the mystery. This book was a great read and follow-up to How Hard Can It Be and I am definitely looking forward to the next in the series, bless Robyn's heart!!!
I laughed at almost every page I read. this story was ridiculously hysterical. of course it still has the other aspects of a story I love mystery and romance. Robyn has such a quirky way of telling stories that make them so much fun to read. I highly recommend this book.
Merged review:
Another great funny hysterical book by Robyn Peterman
I laughed at almost every page I read. this story was ridiculously hysterical. of course it still has the other aspects of a story I love mystery and romance. Robyn has such a quirky way of telling stories that make them so much fun to read. I highly recommend this book.
I just ADORED this story! I'm starting the next book immediately! (Cop A Feel) Robyn has done it again; making me laugh my arse off while reading a book. It's fun to read in public & have others ask you "what's so funny?" I just tell them to read for themselves! Yes, her mind is this warped & I love it! It started with "How Hard Can It Be?" & Rena & Jack's story. Kristy & Mitch's is just as great! Lots of laughs, plenty of hot love making & icy blue eyes. Throw in some Bigfoot & you've got Perfection. Buy these books! You will love them!
What do you get when you lose a bet with your best friend and roommate? You get to take your roommates aunt to her Chasing Big Foot meetings. To top that, you just inherited your grandmother's store and it's run by to bats@#t crazy old women. That's just in the first chapter! Jump right in and join the fun. There's romance, suspense, bad guys, a totally hot neighbor down stairs and a big explosion somewhere in there too. Robyn Peterman did it again, I laughed, I wanted to cry and I got mad enough to put the book down and walk away only to rush back to see what happens next.
Robyn did it again with this series. Handcuffs & Happily Ever Afters are great! I love that the characters in this were connected to Rena & Jack. Add Big Foot and some nutty supporting characters and you have an entire novel of laugh out loud, eyes full of tears funny. Kristy is an amazing character full of deep back story. I loved the playful start her and Mitch had. I love all the giggles. I even loved Rich. <3 Robyn makes you feel for these people. Mariah Carey, Boo and the Sewing Lesbians - I LOVED THEM ALL! I cannot wait to read Cop A Feel!!!!
If you are ready to laugh out loud, to the point of snorting, Size Matters is the book for you. You have to be in the mood for screwball comedy (think old I Love Lucy shows times ten) but underneath all of the ridiculousness and silliness, there is also a love story and a heartfelt tale about there being more than meets the eye – the perfect combination to make you laugh and sigh.
