Lord Henri's world is one of indulgence. As Master of Greystone Manor, he has extended his good fortune to those in need. And in bringing guests to the manor, and offering them a new life, they receive an unexpected gift ... immortality. Avrum was one such human, not so long ago. And now, as a vampire, he is Lord Henri's second in command.
Never one to concern himself with the humans that grace the hallways of Greystone Manor, Avrum is surprised when he feels such a strong connection to Haven. L ...more

This book was filled with hate and love. Haven is a young woman who is brought to the manor and is beaten and used. Avrum, while a vampire, is her unlikely savior. Together these two find love and work together to fight the evil lord who runs Greystone Manor. I found this book to be a very good read. It was so easy from page one to love both Haven and Avrum and so easy to hate Lord Henri.
In my mind this book wasn't your normal vampire read. Many of the characters do not even know what they are. ...more

At first this book was a bit slow to start....you didn't know what was going on and what the plot was. There was something tho about the story that kept you reading...wanting to know what happens to Haven, or if Avrum will succeed, or after all in the end Lord Henri continues to reign.
The story was a bit wordy that was the main reason I knocked off a fang, but I kept finding myself rooting for Haven and Avrum! Haven's fiesty attitude and sassy mouth keep you cheering for her to survive and escap ...more

I LOVED LOVED LOVED His Haven, its an adult historical romance, and one of the best I've read! Main character, Avrum, lives under the care of Lord Henri, an immortal, who saved him from the fire that killed his mother and brother. Now an immortal, with riches and grand parties, he finds nothing wrong with Lord Henri. One night when he finds Haven- Henri's new rescue- tied to his bed, half naked, and beaten, he realised that Henri is not who he says he is. So with the help of his best friend Lysa

Debut author alert! This is such a great start - I fully intend to continue with the series when the next one is released.
In this book, the world revolves around Haven and Avrum, and their worlds revolve around each other, respectively. Sure, there are some other things going on along the way but that is the true meat-and-potatoes of it. Their eyes catch at the beginning of the novel and that's the end of it. Though there are some wrenches thrown into the plot as a whole, we more-or-less know wh ...more

His Haven is a fantastic story.
Haven is a human girl trapped under the thumb of a ruthless vampire lord, Henri, who seems to believe she is someone else—a past lover. Haven had sacrificed herself to save her father, which is how she ended up in her terrifying predicament, but as far as she’s concerned, she is going to escape. And there’s a lot to like about her spunk. I was cheering for her from the first page. She never gives up. And then she meets Avrum, a vampire under Henri’s care, and from ...more

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. It sucked me in. The writing style makes you feel like you are actually in that time period and in the characters' heads, living out the story. I love Haven's strong will, and her connection with her father. She risks her life many times to save his. Avrum is the typical romance, alpha male, but he grows into a strong, free-thinking man. After he discovers the truth about Lord Henri and Haven, his view on the world shifts. His love for Ha

I really loved this book. I have been a long time fan of vampires, but felt the genre was getting too soft with the recent YA additions. His Haven is very different from the majority of romantic vampire stories out there because of the time period of the story. Though there is romance in the story, it does not take away from the fact that there are vampires and most of them aren't the nice gentlemen we've dreamed about. The characters are realistic and relatable, most importantly they are believ

Snatched from poverty by a wealthy man who claims he’s taken her for her own good, Haven does not care for, nor does she fully understand the life he offers. She’d rather be at her poor, sickly father’s side, than dripping in gems and drinking champagne.

I read the book under the demands of a friend of mine, who loved the book, and I must say, this book has quite a few surprises in it. More than one, I caught myself gasping and gripping for more, but the concept, beautifully stated, is choppily executed. The chemistry between the two characters took almost no time at all the create, and hit it off to eternity in an instant, but each individual character had wonderful back stories, and the imagery of the book is amazingly vivid for my taste.

I was given this book by SSLY in place of an honest review.
I really liked this book and the writing style was great. I have some questions about the ending and what else happened. Here is hoping that there will be more about this book and characters in the future.
I have found another author to read from now.

Harper A. Brooks lives in a small town on the New Jersey shore. Even though classic authors have always filled her bookshelves, she finds her writing muse drawn to the dark, magical, and romantic. But when she isn't creating entire worlds with sexy shifters or legendary love stories, you can find her either with a good cup of coffee in hand or at home snuggling with her furry, four-legged son, Sam
