Autumn Days: Let's Look at the Seasons, by Ann Schweninger, describes different times in the Autumn, and what happens in Autumn. The non-fictional picture book is about the season of Fall. It includes the first day of Fall, what crops grow, what insects appear, how to make a wreath, what is is called "An Indian Summer," how and why leaves change colors, what Autumn is like in other parts of the world, and Thanksgiving. This is a good book for teachers to use when focusing on specific aspects of the Fall season and it has nice drawings of animals in the Fall.

This fun little informational book looks at what happens during the months of autumn. It shows what happens with the wildlife, insects, plants, weather, planet, and people during this season. I recommend this for mid elementary students as there is a quite a bit more information here than a book in the early elementary level. This book didn’t hold my interest for long, but do not hold that against it. I say it is good for children with an interest on how the seasons and the culture surrounding i ...more

Feels like a cast of Calico Critters taking a look at the season with crafts and activities included. In the Autumn book there is a page of an old-school Thanksgiving play that I felt was better off skipping.

Although this is classified as a fiction book, it could easily be looked at as a non-fiction book. It is full of information about the fall and what happens to animals, plants, and insects in the fall. I think it would be a great book to read to children who are just starting to understand the seasons because it is simple, yet informative.
