Lynna Cooper’s “Moon Chapel”, set in the year 1904, recounts a pivotal year in the life of a young lady, Elizabeth Gifford, the story’s central character.

Up to 1904, Elizabeth lived in one home only, the town of Holyoke, Massachusetts, (about eight miles north of Springfield). We learn that she was raised by a single father, John who appears to have passed away sometime during Elizabeth’s early adult years. Elizabeth later reveals that she grew up knowing her father as her only living relative,
