It’s been a while since I've had a chance to enjoy the delightful Paula Quinn. She was one of the authors who made me fall in love with Highlanders. So when I saw this book and The Wicked Ways of Alexander Kidd on audiobook, I pounced on both like a duck on a June bug. As always, PQ does not disappointment. I’m a HUGE Callum MacGregor fan and loved his story the best out of all of the MacGregor/Grant stories... With that said, this stories romance was very similar in

Brilliantly Written! Epic!

Awesomeness is not a good enough word to describe this brilliantly written story – No I think Epic would sum it up nicely. This captivating story is filled with a humorous seductive romance that kept me glued to the pages and wanting to live in their world forever. The author’s descriptive details of the Highlander’s country side and their clan’s leaves the reader with a breathtaking vision that will forever be melded into your heart. The character’s chemistry and humor

Edmund MacGregor is a fierce Scot intent to preserve the independence of his adopted clan, by which he means to prevent the Act of Union between England and Scotland, advocated by the Duke of Queensberry.

Miss Amelia Bell, niece of the Duke of Queensberry, is going to marry the Chancellor of Scotland to help her father gain needed prestige, a duty she plans to carry out against her own wishes. Amelia is at times flirtatious, at times innocent, and with Edmund (who had faked a title for himself a

A sweet, hot, and absolutely fantastic historical romance, The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell was a wonderful read. I loved this book! It was lovely from start to finish and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Amelia was a wonderful heroine. She was very loyal to those she cared about and often thought of their needs first (which was both admirably selfless and frustrating, when she got into her head that she needed to sacrifice herself for their happiness). She was stronger than she first seemed, particul

Decent read, but read better from her. Amelia kind of got on my nerves every time she blamed herself for the things that happened. I thought that the story was a little to long though.

I have enjoyed ms quinn's previous books about this family, but this one just misses the mark completely. For those of you hoping to find something like Monica McCarty's books: check out the McGregor books (2) and Children of the Mist-series. But you won't find it in this first part of this new series.

The main story is about Edmund and Amelia, but the development of their love story feels from te beginning rushed with a lot of time spend on possible love interests of the other characters: his th

Why have I never read a Paula Quinn before? That's what I was asking myself as I was reading this. I mean, I've read nearly every other Scottish Romance writer, so how has this one passed me by? Well, I have no idea, but she's on my radar now, and if this is any indication of the standard to expect, I have some fun times ahead making my way through her back catalogue!

Captivating Scottish adventure!
OMG! What a great medieval Scottish romance to enjoy! I have just finished reading Paula Quinn’s first book THE SEDUCTION OF MISS AMELIA BELL in her new series The MacGregors: Highland Heirs. This book had every element to please me, a highlander, passion and adventure. If you have read her previous series Children of the Mist; then you will be delighted to read Edmund’s story, eldest son of Colin MacGregor and Gillian, her two main characters in her fourth book C

I have really mixed feelings about this book. I loved that the story was more than just a man and woman falling in love - it dealt with true issues and conflicts and questions about where and how you can be loyal. However, it could have been A LOT shorter. There's a time for flowery words and then there's a time when you should move the story along. Overall I liked the story and the characters but felt like there was so much time spent on every little thing that I decided it should be a three-st ...more

This book shouldn't be called The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell. This Should be called 'A guide of how to treat and love a woman by the McGregor men.'
This book made me wish the entire planet was Scotland because we -women- deserve and need highlanders like the McGregors.
Edmund kidnapped Amelia for ransom to keep Scotland safe from the British, but what he did not plan was to fall in love with her.

I don't read a lot of historical fiction but when I do I want to be swept away to a time when men were men and women were cherished. I dont want it to be sloppy or anything but a highland romance with a rugged hero who can sweep a lady off her feet sometimes just appeals to me. Ive seen this authors work recommended and thought it's time to Investigate further and as this book works well as a standalone seemed a good place to start.

There is nothing like a wonderful highland romance that takes you to distant lands, I love immersing myself in the people, their conflicts and the romance between the hero and heroine. This is the start of a new series (the heirs from previous books) by an author who pens amazing highland romances.

Review: 5 stars
General: This book was almost skipped by me and I’m so glad I didn’t. The only negative thing I can even contemplate saying about the book is the title completely didn’t work for me. It sounded like a cheesy plot romance novel and what you get is anything but! From the start the characters are compelling, the plot is fast paced and the writing is flawless.

The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell meets all the elements of a good Highland story:

1. It features hot Scots, a family of them. They are strong, virile, masculine, and patriotic. They fight for their independence from English rule and they fight for their families. The men are bigger than life who can take a punch as well as throw one.

2. It is historical. I love how the story is embroiled in political intrigue. Edmund MacGregor is trying to stop Scotland’s union with England by preven

Give me a book that involves romnce and Scottish Highlanders, and I’m a happy woman! “The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell” by Paula Quinn definitely hits the mark with this great historical romance. The characters are great, and both Amelia and Edmund are people who you can relate to and root for. I love Amelia’s passionate nature and her rebellious side. You can’t help but like her. Edmund is the typical rogue at first, until he falls hard for Amelia. The writing style is great, and there is the ...more

Another great romance from Paula Quinn and a great start to the new series, The MacGregors: Highland Heirs.

Highland and highlanders are one of my great weaknesses, and I’m ready for MacGregors. Bring them on Paula!

We start with Edmund MacGregor, a man of principle and strong beliefs in the cause for his beloved Scotland. He will risk his own life before he gives up on them, and to keep his country out of English hands, he comes up with a plan to thwart the men who would be signing a treaty that

I have loved all of Paula Quinn's books and this new one is just as wonderfully done and will not disappoint. Her characters are always so well written, you feel like they are real. They make you laugh and cry right along with them. I also came to love two very loyal dogs in this story and a teasing bit which I'm hoping is her next book. My ancestors were MacGregors and after I spotted a couple of her MacGregor Clan books in the bookstore several years ago I just had to take them home with me. I ...more

I have been anticipating Edmund’s book since he first appeared in the pages of Colin’s story…having the monsters chased from his room and the fishing trips with his soon to be father. Even though Edmund isn’t related to the MacGregor’s by blood, he is the son of Colin’s wife Gillian, an Englishwoman. He was readily adopted into the clan at age four along with his mother upon her marriage to Colin. I knew his story would be one that I would devour! For readers who love historical romances set in the Scottish Highlands, this one is a must read! Taken from my review at

Edmund MacGregor, whose father is one of the greatest spies in the three kingdoms, will do whatever it takes to keep Scotland from coming under England’s rule. Edmund is not really a MacGregor, or even Scottish. He was adopted into the clan when he was almost four and raised as a son by Colin, a man he deeply loves. With his Scottish cohorts, who are also hi

I’ve only read one book by Ms. Quinn (Conquered by a Highlander) which I enjoyed quite a bit however; I just now had a chance to read more of her work. What great luck to end up with this book which is totally related to Conquered by a Highlander. In fact, the characters are directly related as in they are father and son. Edmund’s dad is Collin McGregor hence the series name The MacGregors: Highland Heirs. This spin off series starts out great and even better than Conquered by a Highla

This had to be the steamiest Paula Quinn book I have ever read - and I've read them all! I am not complaining - the hotter the better in my opinion But this was not what I am used to from this author. Either that or it's been way too long since I last read one of her books
