Readers become writers, and Christina has always been a reader. Ultimately she discovered she liked to read romance best because the relationship between a man and a woman is always humorous. A woman wants world peace, a clean house, and a deep and meaningful relationship based on mutual understanding and love. A man wants a Craftsman router, undisputed control of the TV remote, and a red Corvette which will make his bald spot disappear.
When Christina’s first daughter was born, she told her husband she was going to write a book. It was a good time to start a new career, because how much trouble could one little infant be?
Ha! It took ten years, two children and three completed manuscripts before she was published. Now her suspense, paranormal, historical, and mystery novels have been translated into 30 languages and sold more than 15 million copies in print. Praised for her “brilliantly etched characters, polished writing, and unexpected flashes of sharp humor that are pure Dodd” (Booklist), her award-winning books have landed on numerous Best of the Year lists and, much to her mother's delight, Dodd was once a clue in the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle. She lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest, where her 700 lavender plants share the yard with her husband’s various “Big Projects,” including a treehouse, zipline, and their very own Stonehenge.
Enter Christina’s worlds and join her mailing list for humor, book news and entertainment (yes, she’s the proud author with the infamous three-armed cover) at christinadodd.com. Her legions of fans know that when they pick up a Christina Dodd book, they'll find the story, "Wildly entertaining, wickedly witty!"
Christina is married to a man with all his hair and no Corvette, but many Craftsman tools.

“They knew. That’s why they locked us in, those scheming matchmakers. Because I want you so badly, I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. I can barely speak. All my thoughts are consumed with taking you in my arms and pleasuring you until you scream with delight.”

"Kidnapped" is the story of Helwin and Rion.

A pretty sweet novella in which our impoverished rake hero plans to steal an heiress, but kidnaps her destitute cousin instead. As there is a delay in returning her, she transforms not only his castle, men and kitchen, but also his life. He falls for her, some drama ensues, and it ends in a HEA.

This would have been fabulous as a full length feature. Never the less, good read.

Loved it! I'm on a Dodd binge right now. I remember reading one of the others in this series and love how the authors each had a plot involving the Masterson bed.

Kidnapped - Once Upon A Pillow

What a delightful short story (novella?) I can't wait to read the first in this series and the last 2!! This is kind of a Cinderella story--with a very happy ending as it should be!! These stories all revolve around a big bed--not that you will realize that at first! In this one-guy steals wrong girl who ends up being the right girl!! It is what happens inbetween which will make you shake your head and laugh!

Good Story for a Novella

Novellas are usually lacking for me. As expected, they fail to have the character development and depth of the full length novel. I did, however, enjoy KIDNAPPED. I found the story of a woman KIDNAPPED by mistake to be interesting enough to finish the story quickly. I thought the concept of four stories connected by an antique bed to be good enough that I will go back and read the first story now (I ended up getting this one, the second in the series, because it was on sale).

When mercenary Rion returns home he finds his father has squandered all the resources of the demesne and he must find a source of income quickly. He decides to pursue and secure an heiress but in a botched kidnapping attempt he snatches her cousin instead. Did he really kidnap the right woman even if she wasn't the one he was trying to marry? This is a fun continuation of the Once Upon a Pillow quartet of novellas.

It was just too short and ended abruptly - would have been a 5 star full length novel I'm sure.
