Like The Old Genie Hottabych this isn't great literature but it's popular and loved by grandparents, parents and the younger generation mostly thanks to the movie with the same name.

Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors is very Soviet book and by that I mean that there is obligatory dose of a propaganda. Olya lives in the free world, Soviet Russia, while Aylo comes from the world that is oppressed by a corrupt government.

This is one of these rare occasions when the movie is better than the book. And an awesome person has uplo

I like how you still felt like you have a great adventure behind you after you read that book even though it's so short. Took me long enough to be honest but I feel like I'm more fluent in Russian now
